Problem is we've seen it time and again with Merlin's attempts of theming/experience attractions, and I speak as someone who likes Sub Terra... There's always that ONE mis-step made that stops them from being that high quality they do strive to be... I've still not bothered with DBGT, but that it itself has been high evidence of the difference between theory and practical in terms of experience attractions... Given rides a story for the sake of having a story does not work, bigger parks than Merlin have buggered that one up enough times... And tbh I don't think being to the level of Baron 1898's pre-show is actually that far beyond MMM; given that it is just well designed projection mapping, but the devil is in the details... Would Merlin add a little hatch that opens up when the ghosts appear, or have the physical scenery move when they fly off? As I say there's always that one step they miss that prevents them from going from good to great...

Doubt he'll be working for Towers much longer... The pre-show has been making the rounds (a verbal description, not a vid/pics), all seems a bit of an attempt to give it a story or something... Certainly going to have to be something to judge upon viewing (but it has to beat Baron 1898)...

Funny thing is that's not even concept art, that's an actual picture of Thorpe...- The Walking Dead: The Ride - Speculation and 'Construction'
After all that effort in reducing the height restriction too The short termism thing for parks is never good...- Liseberg
Allows them to do more things differently I guess, what with them originally coming in on Flying Coasters... Namely those long drawn out inlines seen on this and Banshee... Swarm seems to be the worst for tightening, I don't recall anything like that on Raptor (Flug was just bouncing around too much to notice anything else)... I honestly cannot remember Oblivio having them or not...- Liseberg
Pfft, those restraints are fine...- Tiger Rock
I don't think parks should really be wanting articles in the Daily Mail tbh...- Energylandia

Wardley changed the entire profile of the first drop and would've changed more if he could (TT Q&A) Why aren't we allowed to be constructively critical of this? I believe they couldn't have build down into the woodland where half of flume was, which is a real shame... But given that this was a very last minute ride choice due to Smiler creating all the problems in the world, what else do we expect? Problem now there's seem to be some sudden hype because a few people who've ridden it are unsurprisingly being overwhelmingly positive over it... Which has always happened...- Efteling
Wonder where I've seen that thought before? I literally saw nothing from the trials, but could be interesting to see how it goes on Symbolica...- Blackpool Pleasure Beach
I pondered the idea today of getting RMC to use their new Raptor track to make a modern day Wild Mouse coaster... An underbanked turn by the Ghost Train building would be incredible...- Great Ride Documentaries

Tis just the theme being spited, not the ride itself... Mystery River in of itself was a hasty retheme when they lost the Neverending Story licence...- 38 replies

I like how we keep saying this as if it's actually quite a difficult feat for parks to actually do... Hell if Drayton had built Alpina Blitz it would've wiped the floor with 70% of all UK coasters...- Wicker Man
There are rumours of 3 trains, but it'll only hit around 1000pph (which is still decent enough tbh)... If it runs like Wodan (at least, until Fastrack exists) and the pre-shows are insanely faffy then the queue should move pretty constantly... But then Fastrack and pre-show will mean that this is not the case...- Blackpool Pleasure Beach
I doubt we'll see much scenery/theming around the ride beyond the station/pond area... Theming is not really what you go to Blackpool for...- Wicker Man
Shame it'll never look like that because (delete where appropriate) be only open at night for a week/the smoke will have run out by April/the fire doesn't work/the theming element has fallen apart/the park is closed due to cuts... It does look good though, but I'm awaiting to see the response after it's bedded in to see the true reactions to it (I seem to recall anything new is the best ride ever on most accounts, especially given the number of vlogs/blogs/FB groups these days)...- The Small Parks Thread
