  1. There’s a good 25 minutes where evil takes over; spooky rock and roll songs play and big Bob Jones is possessed. It’s all about the story though; it all depends what time you get there. But - there are horrors in there.
  2. Glad you like Colossus' audio - thanks! There should be audio playing for Rush and Nemesis Inferno - but there simply wasn't enough time to do everything; we will build on it, I am sure. Don't know why or where you heard the director - can you let me know? WWTP is a complete re-write... that's all I have to say about that. What didn't work?
  3. http://www.stickysisters.co.uk Appears to be an outside brand! Exciting! Chicken Wings and spicy sauces!
  4. Merlin offer a way better deal than the Disney annual passes. We're very lucky to get the 20% discount on everything (alcohol, food, gifts) and everyone in the party can gain from it if only one person in the group has the pass. Over at Disney only the pass holder is allowed to make use of the 10% (or sometimes 5%) discount.
  5. Yeah - the other day when I went on - we had a bit of the holding sequence and it provided one of the best jump scares of the attraction! Great stuff and a really clever idea.
  6. Nice to know Amanda wanted a garden of tranquility in the final "pans" and that they're "extited"!!
  7. The creative lead from MMM has told me it will deliver on time by March 18th. Keep Calm and Carry On.
  8. Can someone tell me which direction the boat is going? Is it going toward the arch? I presume it is - as you've got to be able to read the text
  9. It's in now. Think it's everywhere bar the tavern and sw8 area.
  10. Here's a little clip of my new audio for Mutiny!
  11. you've got 60 computers in a tube train, in a metal shed. of course heat can make it troublesome; the processors don't work well when heated up
  12. Ha! As always with Merlin parks, compared to the US (Six Flags/Cedar Fair...) this is an absolute bargain. All Americans I know who go to the parks here are SO impressed with the food offering and pricing - especially Temple at Chessington.
  13. Went to this park for the first time ever at the weekend. Really well run place; longest queue was 25 minutes (and that was for a thing in Peppa Pig Land). The Lost Kingdom is lovely and the jeep ride has a nice surprise at the end (you get wetter than Zufari!) It needs a dark ride, a woodie and proper log flume and rapids ride and then it'll be up there! The entrance is beautiful and it puts other parks' entrances to shame in this country... the grounds are very well kept and extremely clean - and it was nice not to see adverts for stuff everywhere. The free parking was nice. The food needs work (but I think everyone knows that) but it was a really relaxing day all round!
  14. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3739421/Is-TV-mindbender-Derren-Brown-brainwashing-teenagers-opposing-fracking-Thorpe-Park-thought-ride-bombards-thrillseekers-images-catastrophe.html Eyeroll.
  15. We were allowed to film on the media night. We had to sign agreements upon entry with our contact details - but apart from that, it was all allowed.
  16. I think the issue is the reveal happens so quickly you don't really realise what has happened. I do look around when you get off the tube and some people who have got it have a genuine look of shock on their faces! It's great!
  17. I wouldn't count the VR elements as illusions. However, Peppers Ghost can't be bought "off-the-shelf", so that whole scene had to be conceived; Paul would've worked on the lighting and the screen angles, as well as the train that looks to be part of the set in the room but is actually a hologram. He'd have advised on where the audience have to stand (ever notice wherever you stand in the room Derren is looking at you?) The "few mirrors and chains" is a bit more complicated than that... again the room had to be designed and lit to make it seem like it was hanging by chains. Illusions are all meant to seem simple - but under the surface, there's always a lot more going on. The illusion of space in the tube station is also a clever use of mirrors, too. Paul is a pretty talented guy... he's just done Groundhog Day in town, Matilda, Ghost, Lord of the Rings, live tricks for the Harry Potter films, Svengali and Miracle for DB, most of Dynamo's tricks and the new magic show at Disneyland Paris that's just opened.
  18. You and I both know the illusion aspect is a lot more than that in this attraction.
  19. Ha. The chap opposite in red is Paul Kieve - the ride's illusion designer.
