crosley's are awful turntables. any turntable with built in speakers isn't worth your time if you want vinyl to be more than just a novelty thing, the Pro-Ject Elemental is a really good turntable for the price but you have to remember that a huge chunk of the cost for a turntable set up goes towards the amp, the pre amp, the speakers, etc.
  4. ahahahah this is hilarious, always thought it was pretty bold of thorpe to have a ride with quite a strong anti fracking message, very interesting to see a ride with political themes
  5. suicide squad is an utter trainwreck of a film.
  6. They could literally market improved VR as an entirely new experience, they could even dedicate a low investment year to it - this is the same company who marketed a repainted ride as being "New"
  7. Had my first experience of this ride today, I have a lot of thoughts on it; It's very interesting to see a ride tackle such overtly political themes in it's narrative, I don't believe any ride has ever really done it to this level, it's a pretty bold move... ...however the narrative itself is a bit of a mess; what causes the infection we hear so much about? Why is it talked about so much but never properly explained? Does it come from underground along with the demons? if thats the case what is the need for the demon plot, the whole story could've easily focused on the infection plot, it probably could've been a lot scarier than the hammy demon plot but it just gets pushed to the side. the requirement to create some kind of narrative on this ride really feels like a restriction, in my opinion the ride would've worked far better as a series of vignettes set in the train using VR, it would've allowed a lot more experimentation in different sequences, the creativity of this project really feels like it was held back by the need (and failure) to create a cohesive story. The technology for this ride clearly isn't there yet. While it made me jump, sure, the fact the whole thing looked like an early PS2 game really took away from the supposed scariness of it, my non enthusiast friend who I was with felt the same way, it doesn't look real enough to be truly scary. The rides heavy use of VR is something thats really interesting to me, I get the impression that this ride may never truly be finished, it feels like it'll be worked on and updated for years to come, while it may not be easy, it's not inconceivable to think that in the near future we may have far more polished and graphically impressive VR sequences, it's also possible that we could even have an entirely new story - the fact this ride relies on VR opens up a world of possibilities, it's super interesting to me. All in all I actually really enjoyed the experience, it's definitely rough around the edges and feels like it could've done with a year or two longer in development to ensure that the tech was up to snuff, but the potential this ride has is really exciting. I hope they do make the effort and continually update it, if it stays the same it'll still be fun as it is now, but in a couple of years time it'll look horribly dated, if they put the effort in Thorpe could be onto something really special with this ride.
  8. jokes lads I love ryan he's ace and anyone who doesnt is a PENIS
  9. personally as a labour member and campaigner the direction the labour party has taken lately is incredibly unfortunate. its literally only preaching to the converted and theres no way the current platform is going to win in 2020. ed miliband was too left wing in 2020 so the party decided to double down on the leftism, its ridiculous.

  11. I've seen many slating Trick or Treat Wood on this forum, and initially I was disappointed by the lack of Haunting In The Hollows, however after experiencing Trick or Treat Wood for myself, I couldn't give a solitary sausage about Haunting. Trick or Treat Wood is the greatest scare attraction of all time, far better than The Big Top (or as I call it; the sh*t flop) Trick or Treat Wood has made me feel feelings I've never felt before, some I can describe, but others are too explicit for this family forum,Trick or Treat Wood is a euphoric, orgasmic experience that had changed my perspective on both theme parks and life itself. When I left Trick or Treat Wood, I burst into tears, out of sheer joy and utter uncontrollable sadness, as I will never experience this beautiful attraction again, as I will soon be dead. Trick or Treat Wood has killed my theme park enthusiasm, as nothing will top this work of art. Goodbye my friends, I hope one day you can all experience the pure ecstasy of Trick Or Treat Wood.
  12. Just writing to respond to a few things and clear a couple things up. First and foremost I want to address the misinterpretation that I think misogyny has occurred from within the mod team. I don't think that. The current mod team is comprised of some thoroughly decent members of the community and I'm not for one second suggesting that any one of them have been sexist, I apologise if it seemed like I was saying this. I wasn't. My problem comes from the misogyny and general creepiness that I've personally seen displayed by some of the ordinary members towards women members. The fact is that this sort of behaviour can't really be comprehensively dealt with by an all male moderating team, and banning a member or two simply won't cut the mustard, certain problems need certain perspectives. In regards to this; Perhaps the incredibly imbalanced gender ratio at meets is a result of the community seeming threatening to some female members or guests who've experienced or seen some of the more toxic activity from certain members and the general lack of female representation on the main team? Just a thought.
  13. The grid. Not the fact that there is one, it's kind of needed but the fact that it's 4m x 4m for a single square? Seriously? Log Flumes aren't as wide as roads.
  14. Anyone find it a bit odd that the moderating team on this site is entirely made up of guys? Our community and the general community of theme park enthusiasts is diverse and filled with all sorts of different genders and sexualities however our mod team is entirely restricted to Men, while this may be a general problem with the theme park enthusiast community I know for a fact that our own community has some people who act towards female members in a way that can only be described as toxic. We really need to be more representative of our own community with our moderating team and having a gender balanced mod team could really help dealing with some of the misogynistic ****lords in our own community and generally make the community seem more welcoming for female members, especially young female members.

  20. Personally I think a Doctor Who themed dark ride would suit the park down to the ground, it's family friendly but not childish and with Merlins ties to the BBC, it seems very likely to me. Also, Peter Capaldi. More Theme Parks need Peter Capaldi.
