I really hope the new ambient soundtrack never comes to fruition, the silence makes Blair Witch.

Towards the end of the night it got much better, actors really got into it.

I'm fine with using strobes at the end, but having them all the way through the maze really detracts from it, one thing Asylum lacked was scene variation, studio has this, but it's kind of hard to notice when you're constantly being blinded by strobes. Turn them off, replace it with some atmospheric still lighting a day they'll be on to a winner. The problem with stories is that Thorpe seems to think that a little exposition at the start makes a story. It doesn't.

Just got back from AP preview, so I figured it's a good time to share my thoughts. My Bloody Valentine is still crap. Saw Alive is Saw Alive. (It's crap) Cabin in the Woods has taken a nosedive, far too well lit in many sections of the maze, showing off the cheap theming. Not good. Studio 13 was a pleasant surprise. Had two runs through it, one as it opened and one near the end of the night, first run through was not good, felt very rushed and Asylum like, just strobes and screaming. Second run through was so much better, although story is pretty much non existent (as it is with every Thorpe maze) the actors did a great job at playing their characters, the strobes were still annoying though, the maze would benefit greatly if they were just replaced with some more atmospheric still lighting. Blair Witch Project was the best maze of the night, rather than throwing a bunch of scares at you in quick succession and to little effect, Blair Witch utilises long periods of silence to build tension for the next big scare, the lack of music and the maze taking place in pretty much total darkness really contributes to it, however as with every other maze, it would be nice to see the actors given more complex scripts to better showcase the story, rather than just having them scream at you. The groups on Blair Witch are also far too large, cutting the groups down to around 3 or 4 people would really add to the tension and creeping sense of dread created by the maze. Definite improvement on last years event, however as usual, storytelling is absent from every maze. Shame.

Would improve the maze a lot tbh.

It's a shame that such a good concept is wasted on a scare zone just because of the ever shrinking entertainments budget at Towers.

It's kind of a shame that the IP mazes will be here to stay for some time, the original concepts that Thorpe have for this year are far more interesting than any of the horror movie things.

What a load of arse.

Won't be doing this, going on preview day so I don't see much reason to pay for a second visit when I don't enjoy the event all that much. The awful train service on Sundays also makes this a no for me. See you all at Christmas I guess

Had an Android phone for the last couple years, switching to iPhone in January. Android is a great platform, but iPhone's now finally do everything I want them to do, Apple have the advantage on the software front, iOS has been refined and perfected into an OS that is easy to use and doesn't sacrifice stability for features, it's also worth noting that Apple's app selection is far superior. The Apple Watch looks really interesting as well, I'm looking forward to seeing how it's received.

If R&R was being used on mazes instead of a regular queuing system I'd be very happy, one of the great things about Scarefest is the fact that you don't have to wait to long because you have an allotted time.
