Thorpe Park Trip Reports
How did you fit that many rides in?!
-
Griffin's Galleon
Why is it that all the smaller parks (Lightwater, Paultons etc) manage to run flat rides properly yet Merlin can't?
-
Oakwood
That's good then - maybe it's a new/rethemed dark ride.
-
CBeebies Land
Nick Land > Cbeebies land IMO. I won't judge properly until I've seen it from myself, but from pictures I've seen it basically looks like they've renamed a few things, built a new path and painted treehouses in stupidly bright colours. Plus Nick Land appeals to a wider market than Cbeebies land.

Oakwood
Right, so unless this "something" turns out to be a very good ride, we have essentially lost a classic dark ride for a teacups. Very disappointed by this, as the "something" might not even be a ride.

Thorpe Shark Hotel
My issue with this is that they call it a "hotel." I'm sorry, but it's not a hotel. If shipping containers count as a hotel, then so do holiday Apartments, B&B's and maybe even tents! Crash Pad sold it as it was, but the word hotel is very misleading.

SAW: The Ride
I think a lot of people are forgetting that they could have just put up a building, made it pitch black and called it a day. By UK standards I think that Saw is quite well themed, and when it's running well it is a ride that I enjoy - it's just a shame that it runs awfully a lot of the time.

Phantasialand
That looks absolutely amazing, as a big Valhalla fan I'd love to go on that! There aren't as many dark sections as I was expecting though.
-
Griffin's Galleon
Chessington They really have lost the plot at that place...
-
Blackpool Pleasure Beach
I have heard about that one, I think it's improved now as that was quite a few years ago in the Geoffrey Thompson era.
-
Blackpool Pleasure Beach
Bling downgraded the overall feel of the park as it was a funfair-y IMO, it either needed a huge facelift or getting rid of.
-
Stealth
It's April Fools obviously, they wouldn't theme Stealth to Angry Birds!
-
Blackpool Pleasure Beach
Haha I agree that some of them aren't accurate, although I'm yet to see a big UK park that hasn't lied about something before. They could promote the idea of fun more, but I think that the advert represents the park well - stylish, modern (but with old attractions) and the rides are shown quite a lot.

2014 Season
I hope they are expensive and not many are sold.
-
Vampire
I agree, it's absoloutely dire (based off last year) and it's why I haven't bothered visiting Chessington yet this year. For the park's signature coaster, it should be belting out trains by the double, yet it's sat there rotting away achieving about 300 people per hour.

CBeebies Land
Those buildings do not suit the trees!
-
Blackpool Pleasure Beach
That is basically what I was saying. Back on the subject of BPB, they've uploaded a new family advert which I think is much better than the one released a few months ago. EDIT: They've also uploaded a new thrillseeker one as well. Works much better with the voiceover! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWX_j-YtG54

SAW: The Ride
Yeah it does add to the experience, they should get it fixed. On the plus side, I'm sure that Saw isn't quite as bad (rough) this season, it was horrible on Annual Pass Day but since then it's got better IMO.

Thorpe Park Trip Reports
Ah no it wasn't then, actually I think I walked past you lot as I did see a big group.

Thorpe Park Trip Reports
I just mean in general, and why what happened then?
-
Phantasialand
Now that looks amazing!
-
Nemesis Inferno
I noticed two (or three) crocodiles today, and I saw the waterfalls today. Also, the geysers were on! No mist though
-
Blackpool Pleasure Beach
My point was that they are meant to move, but barely any of them do.

Thorpe Park Trip Reports
Today was an absolutely insane day, after last week being quite busy, we decided to hammer the rides all day today! RIDECOUNT: Stealth x13 Nemesis Inferno x10 The Swarm x5 Saw: The Ride x4 X x4 Colossus x1 Samurai x1 Rush x1 Rumba Rapids x1 Park operations were generally good, a couple of hiccups but overall I was impressed. The Swarm's staff seem to spend a long time faffing around, hence why the ridecount on it wasn't as many as I would have liked. Most of the rides seemed to have had their effects fixed, The Swarm was running with almost all it's effects working, Inferno had seen the lakes touched up and the geyser put back in operation, so hats off to Thorpe for that! Total: 40
