  1. Mer you get rep for just reminding me of The Demon Headmaster and for mentioning Spot alone!

Oh so it has a start date/month now? That's great news. Are you a fan of their other work e.g. South Park, Team America? If so have you seen Cannibal the Musical?
  3. Phill Pritchard replied to Lordcutter6's topic in Stuff
Since November we have been to see The Lion King, Spamalot and whilst it is not strictly a musical we also went to see The Circus of Horrors.Over the next few months we also have tickets booked for Sweeney Todd, Avenue Q and Cirque Du Soleil and cannot wait to see them! :)I would also love to see Matilda as it looks amazing and we will definitely be going to see The Book of Mormon when it finally opens over here.
  4. That was a great "kids theme tune frenzy" that night and yes the theme tune has been stuck in my head ever since too!
  5. Has anybody heard any rumours about what the new show may be at the London Dungeons this year?
  6. From the Thrilling And Fun tab - "Classic Carousel" Classic Carousel?!? What happened to it's name Thorpe Park? :angry:I just had to re-check the new map at least it is still marked as Chief Ranger's Carousel on there!
  7. I have just received confirmation that I can have the day off work.I'm really excited for this one, especially as I had to miss the last meet at the last minute. It will also be my first bit of non ‘resort guest’ ERT (if that makes sense?)!
  8. I love Spirit of London too Mer, nice Mack dark ride. I'm actually a bit annoyed now that I have not been on the forum for while as I had missed this announcement it would have been great to attend and see you all.
  9. Oh dear I had forgotten just how awful that single was. And as far as the video is concerned it’s nice to see the little bits of the park featured but with such a great filming location they certainly wasted lots of opportunities. A great find there though Weeksy, thanks!
  10. Personally I would have to say Disney, I very much enjoyed the Universal parks and they even feature some of my all time favourite rides but there really is something special about WDW and Disney parks in general. These are theme parks where guests of all ages can feel like they are children again. Where you can leave the real world at the gates and just enjoy your adventures in highly themed fun lands that are home to some of the most famous cartoon characters and rides in the world.
  11. My Brother and I on SAW - The Ride the other weekend. I'm the one with the menacing look in his eyes, my brother laughed for the entire duration of the ride!
  12. I second that! Great news Zappomatic, so glad to see your site is online again!
  13. Hi pluk, thank you very much for your kind words. I am so pleased that you like the site and it has already bought back some great memories for you.
  14. Looking again at Neilfever's photos above I was thinking how much nicer Thorpe Park used to look when there were more grassy areas and gardens:The whole Model World & Sunken Garden area, the relaxing flower beds & immaculate gardens that formed the outdoor section of The Magic Mill and Mr Rabbit's Tropical Travels, the grassy hill that was flattened to make way for the X:\ No Way Out pyramid just to name a few.Whilst I obviously understand why each of these areas have changed over time, I do think the park could do with a few more 'green' areas just to break up all the concrete. I will not hold my breath though. :)Also thanks for posting those photos Neil, it is great to be able to compare the area, I have often wondered where the various sections of Stealth are now in comparison to the old Model World & classic Flying Fish area.
  15. Yes it is such a great video. :DThe old Saxon hut that you can see in the background when she is stood on the wooden bridge is also still at the park, it is situated the other side of the current THE SWARM construction site. I love watching this video for the footage of the Treasure Island Railway trains and ship, plus the Magic Mill boat. Definitely a better video with the audio turned down though!
  16. It does still have the same name but it did not have a sign when we visited, although I was told the sign had just been delayed.
  17. I am very pleased to announce that Memories of Thorpe Park is now officially online at www.memoriesofthorpepark.co.uk .This site has been created to showcase our memories of the ‘Great’ Thorpe Park, particularly from the late 1980’s to the late 1990’s. We hope that this non-profit site can be used alongside such great sites like Thorpeparkmania.co.uk as a reference guide to the history of the park. We are planning to focus mainly on the years when Thorpe Park was a family orientated water park and the Thorpe Park Ranger days. Please check out this site (which has been over a year in the making) and let me know what you think. Many ThanksPhill
  18. I was recently down at Sealife Centre Weymouth and they do indeed have Swinging Seashells installed in their Adventure Island childrens ride area. Their Ride Engineer has confirmed to me that the rest of the Octopus Garden rides are currently "in storage somewhere awaiting a new home". Here are a couple of photos of the ride at it's new home:

Heffalumps + Pink Elephants = Two amazing Disney sequences there. And you have just got to love any child’s song that fits in the lyric "Technicolor Pachyderms"!
  20. That story about the wristband is pretty funny, I wish I had seen that.
  21. Phill Pritchard replied to Phill's topic in Nonsense
That's not bad, I may have to copy you and get one at somepoint. ;)On another note I have been meaning to post this On-Ride photo for ages and Helen just found the file so...
  22. ^ That is hilarious, I don't think I could have stopped myself from laughing in his face, as evil as that sounds. So did he miss his stop?
  23. Phill Pritchard replied to Phill's topic in Nonsense
Looks amazing though Adam Do you mind me asking how much it all came to?
  24. X

Phill Pritchard replied to Garyy's topic in The Past
Well according to their 2010 and 2011 Press Packs they state that that X has a "Throughput: 1000 people per hour". Although I can safely say it's not the first time that things have been incorrect in the Press and Student Packs...
