  1. I'm not saying it is your fault, it's the whole thing is just stupid. When anyone goes to complain about anything being closed they should have a copy of the T+C's made of good hard wood to hit them in the face with. It'd all stop then. Extending park hours, like alton have today, is more than enough compensation and fair on everyone.

I don't understand why people seem to want rid of Asylum at all. It is probably consistently the best of the conga line mazes at Thorpe. I get that it has been there a long time, but most people don't go every year, certainly not multiple times like a fair few people do here. It is only stale because of our own overfamiliarity, for most people (including me) it doesn't need to go anywhere.
  3. Then jump one queue, but wait longer for every other ride you do that day as everyone else is using their free fastrack tickets that they also got for moaning. And so the insanity continues on and on and on and on and on...

Ohhh, can you cut and paste the table here please Josh, I've forgotten my log in details. I am frankly amazed someone came lower than me!

As the park has a relatively short opening season they do not do planned maintenance while the park is open, so there is no schedule of closures like you might find at a year round park. If something is closed it is likely to be unexpected and therefore they would not be able to put that on their website. If a major attraction is going to be down for a while they do put a banner on the website but currently everything is open as far as I'm aware. Samurai is having quite a lot of trouble and down time and Saw keeps having its moments, but rarely for a whole day at a time, If a couple of coasters are closed for the day you wouldn't get any compensation and if they know about it at park opening they will put signs up at the pay booths. If a lot of things shut they are usually pretty good and give you a free ticket to return another day for free, but that is really rare and usually only in extreme weather.

Rumours abound of a substantial rebranding of Thorpe, that in some ways has already started. As noted by 'T' on ToweersStreet - where are all the fatheads? They have vanished from the website, and this is supposed to be the start of a change of direction in who they are appealing to. Would seem Thorpe have suddenly realised that trying to appeal almost exclusively to a group of people with nearly no money might not be the best decision financially. So what would you like to see them do with the design and direction of the park. Could it see the return or installation of more family type attractions? How do you appeal to a wider market with what is already on offer? How do you market as a premium / family destination when your hotel is made out of tin instead of brick? Could be interesting times ahead.
  12. Knew of the death but outside of that I didn't know it was that bad. Only taking it as I found it really, it didn't kill me and seemed a decent enough ride.
  13. Well it is a berry farm after all! I still don't really understand this development, removing a perfectly good ride and replacing it with what looks to be cheap crap.
  14. I do hope this is a moment of clairvoyance...

It is because it has to be so finely balanced to work I believe. I have been close that weight before and have never been challenged.
  16. Today is their 30th Birthday and Hobs Pit official opening... Love their cheeky little 'FACT!', Hobs pit reviewed as better than N:ST and saw Alive! Things like this with shows and parades show how smaller regional parks can better the big guys sometimes, bet it will be a great day.

Oh dear... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cambridgeshire-22745094 A hearts and diamonds / round up by the looks of it. Looks like the platform structure under the ride connecting it to the paybooth is what has given way, not the ride itself, but I imagine that the jolt from that fall would be enough to throw the riders around. No restraints while riding these.

I guess that'll be because it is a train down at the moment? It will be running slightly out of synch because of the missing slot every 5th dispatch, when it returns that should line everything up.
  19. 30 minutes. Which is nice!

Which is why they really need to stop dishing out fastrack tickets like confetti whenever anyone complains about anything. That situation is not going to have made anyone happy.
  21. X

I've not done new X yet, is the music not just older dance tracks that most people have forgotten about like it used to be? Would be surprised if they've made their own music for it rather than just using existing stuff.
  22. Something that shouldn't need saying but apparently does. On things like construction and news people take a lot of time and effort to visit parks and get photos to post on their own site or under their own name. If you are going to use one of these pictures you must credit where you got it from and if requested by the owner link back to it too, if someone asks for their work not to be shared you should link back to it only. It is not acceptable to just steal other peoples work, so don't.

This is quite frankly amazing. Some people may think he is too pop or mainstream or whatever, but don't be a music snob - even if it is not to your taste it is hard to deny that Bruno Mars and this set is outstanding. His music is original and interesting, his performance is flawless and full of energy and his band are something else. http://www.bbc.co.uk/events/e82wrz/acts/acqhzc#p019llv5 http://www.bbc.co.uk/events/e82wrz/acts/acqhzc#p019n51m The next Michael Jackson?
  24. Al my memories of this place are from late 80's / early 90's (Woody Bear!!) so I should imagine it is pretty much unrecognisable from that today. Hob's Pit does look pretty good, might even be enough to get a visit out of me this year.

Yeah, that's the one! (In my defense I'm old and all the tussauds halloween events were called fright nights at one time and the name has stuck with me, it is a mistake I make often.)
