    Logger's Leap

Personally, while it would disappoint most that the tunnel drop on Loggers is comparable to drop one on The Flume; I can't see it being replaced. It's been there for years and Loggers has never had a retheme so I'm doubtful they will rebuild a tunnel that previously has been awkwardly small to walk in and smells. In the ease of it they'll probably leave it semi-enclosed (no roof) as simply I doubt the general public really care. Being honest, I don't really care about the tunnel

Well we all have different opinions, sources, etc. Pluk and as stated at the end of my post "words are just words" all anybody can go off is what they believe / write or read / get told. And thats what makes opinions, points of views, and forums in general such interesting places

It did partly in a very small section near the entrance of the tunnel, but they repaired it as it was minor. From what I've heard though is that this is down to Health and Safety due to the rotting of the tunnel; and not by direct choice, but words are words I guess.

  5. Might I just add, most staff at Thorpe do stand up and say "No entry before stated time" on Fastrack; however in most occurrences the Fastrack is set out to be time or any time after as outlined in morning briefing.

If thats what you believe Fred then thats fine, maybe we're best off asking Merlin themselves of the reasoning behind it; so lets leave it at that.

    X

As already stated by myself and Tinie, it's due to evacuation procedures within an indoor queue line; enforced by Health & Safety.

    X

The rule is the same on SAW; there is a limit to how many can be in the building due to evacuation procedures and H&S. Maybe people would prefer to queue inside, but such is life. This is not done by Thorpe's preference; I'm sure they'd much prefer to have both X and SAW as a free-queue like they used to be (as I'm sure Towers would prefer not to batch Rita) but its the way H&S have enforced it. Might I also add that X batches very frequently into the building in comparison to SAW which batches fifty approximately every minute or two; whereas X seems to back fifty more every thirty to forty-five seconds.
  9. I'm gonna try and put my two-cents in here, as I am siding with Tinie. On Inferno for example; seeing as its such a hot topic; the ride team will be informed the train availability at the start of the day. This could be anything from, opening on one with train two available on request; train one with train two in booked maintenance; or two trains. On many occasions I recall adding the second train on to Inferno at request, which engineering would only realistically consider if the queue on one train was beyond the fast-track merge point. However, if the train is in booked maintenance - then there is nothing the ride team can do to add the second train on, even if no maintenance is being carried out. Equally as stated; there is rough restrictions that teams have to follow if a ride opens on one and would like the second. I would also like to state that on a two-train service which is very common on Inferno (which, anyone would be a fool to argue with me about) it requires a minimum of three platforming staff, and where possible a fourth member to open the Fastrack merge point should the queue be in the cattle grid. However, Inferno often runs with three platforming regardless. I respect everyone on these forums, and I respect everyone's views, but I want to highlight to the likes of Benin that the control over trains is rarely controlled by staff; and equally the staff do not add the trains on and off the circuit - engineering do. All the ride team do is run the ride clear of guests, inform people a train is being added or removed, and Engineering carry out the rest.
  10. Thats Mairead. She's like my best mate Not seen that video before; but it definitely gets brownie points for having Gordon in it For the record there's loads of videos like that of staff, Tinie would know #titansrule

    Slammer

There's no need to bite my head off. If you have an opinion then thats fine; as do I. I'm just stating what I've seen. If you've seen different then you've seen different. No need to be rude.

    Slammer

It definitely was on there a few days ago as the scrolling message was saying. "Samurai is currently unavailable... Samurai is currently out of action..."
  14. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2207032/Amputee-war-hero-allowed-Alton-Towers-rollercoaster.html?ito=feeds-newsxml ^ That is my rant. Papers posting about crap. Riles me up so so much because they don't realise how horrid it can make the staff feel when meeting H&S on selected rides.

    Slammer

TPM have posted this on the Facebook but not the forum, um okay.. Equally. SLAMMER IS NO LONGER ADVERTISED AS CLOSED ON THE WEBSITE HOMEPAGE. But it is still advertised as closed on the Slammer page Looks like even I was wrong. Which shocks me.
  16. Original Glazed, whilst I understand where you are coming from; I think you, and often many people, mistake Samurai's popularity. People know its there and given its location its pretty obvious that there is a ride missing if you have a random queue line, with no ride and no signs. By placing a sandwich board and by leaving the signage up it shows to guests that its not gone forever; and they promise it's return. I sort of talk myself both ways, but oh well. By having it on thoroughfare pathway it makes it more obvious. Then again, two big brown towers are pretty obvious too. Difference being Thorpe could guarantee Samurai will return; whereas months ago they couldn't say the same about Slammer. Everyone thought it was dead (Slammer) even the staff, and to some degree I think possibly the park themselves thought it was. But hey ho, we've been shown wrong!
  17. The bass cannons were cleaned out over closed-season so at the start of the year the bass was definitely there. However there is a pidgeon (called Perry) who keeps flying in and out to live in one of them, so it's like 75% of the bass
  18. You sure on that? Seems a little daft to potentially evacuate a queue through a building that could be suffering structural collapse?
  19. ... Err, there is 32 screens in total? 16 on the top for video, and 16 on the bottom for on-ride photos. And when the video ran, it used to show the drop clip of one half of a row, then flick to the other half... So please clarify how the ride didn't run the video for all cars? Cos, it did...
  20. In that case then, Titans have just hijacked the remainders of it all
  21. Oh no, I mean, I am convinced when the video did run it had cameras on all cars. The paints scraped from the rails where the cameras used to sit on the front rows of cars, but only four seem to still have the cameras there and four seem to have had the cameras removed.
  22. As far as I am aware they are now live, and I have seen them running. Stokesyboy you're getting confused. There's about four cars that have the video cameras on them, and another four that don't, no idea why though.
  23. I was always told it was a Titans attraction Although, it's not important. It's resting in peace now so nobody has to deal with it
  24. And then also allow for the loss of Time Voyagers, which was a Titans attraction last year; and CCR which was Outlaws last year
