When the deal was on I just bought a new pass at Chessington and they took my old pass (issued at Thorpe) away from me and I lost four months on it. I wasn't happy, but they seemed to have no issue with the fact I wanted a new pass. But in honesty, I'd probably go to London Eye and ask them, because from my experience with Thorpe and emailing lately, they're not too fussed about replying. I sent an email regarding something important two weeks ago; in response to an email they sent me first; and got no reply.I'd ask at one of the London attractions.

In fairness, they did say for most of the day "It's unlikely to open" so even after that, when it actually did open fair play to them.

The Depth Charge sign definitely has the new logo on it; think the boats are plain now (from my memory)
-
Well, now you mention it... *faceparm*Yeah, it's still not funny though

That is so badly put on, I'd go as far as saying (from what I've heard of them) it makes the SAW: Alive actors look good...

Following on from Marc, one year, and no rush, I'd like to see Samurai (and Slammer to some degree) themed to fit into an area. Samurai in my opinion would make an excellent SAW-Style flat ride if they move the entrance round to the path into SAW Plaza. Slammer I'm less sure about.I just think in that area you have Colossus that needs a repaint and a tidy, then Samurai needs fitting in somehow. And agreed, the area needs opening up "better" between Canada Creek and Lost City as without CCR dividing it, it will be very open..

Does anybody know what made Stealth open late btw?I have to admit, it seemed very very sluggish. Especially the first time I (with you guys) went on, and I was on one of the back rows with Mer9 and when it actually started going over I was still on my back But also, it seems abnormally slow coming back into the station, did anybody else think that or is it just my imagination being so used to RITA at Towers?
-
More than one has been done. From memory, there's one that's been completely redone (which was done for the advertising this year) and then there's about four or five others with the front row done. If I remember, there's only one with full new restraints (or fresh ones) and about two with none at all, the rest are in limbo, and there's definitely one (at least) sat in the workshop with the restraints ready to be put on, but it's been there for months...

The new pass would be a bad idea, and I don't think in price consideration it's worth the money.Okay so we get a free £12 quencher, and unlimited fastracks *normally £80 at Towers, for half a day £40 of Fastrack* but then, I wouldn't use it because I don't go on busy periods. The whole point of having an annual pass is so that you don't need fastrack to have a good day because you can go again! For the almost double price that they put into the thing, I would want to see atleast the 25% staff discount off food and drink, and retail, if not more. A free hoody let alone a lanyard. And to some degree a special "Platinum Passholder" event at the parks or something like that. It just needs some enormous crowd pull, which it doesn't currently have.

I admit I've never been on Rock'n'RollerCoaster (Never been to Disney) so I've not put in a vote. But I'll start debate anyway.RITA is a good rollercoaster. Okay, the turn at the end of the launch isn't a good idea, but it's no where near as rough as SAW or Colossus (in my opinion, it's bearable). But given that factor, the actual track layout is very good. Don't get me wrong, I prefer Stealth by a country mile because of it's launch and acceleration but if Stealth was merged with RITA's layout, I'd admit I'd be happier (obviously without the turn at the end of the launch, and instead a mini-top-hat which has been done). The airtime you get on RITA especially on the back seat is substantial for a launch coaster, and possibly the most air-time you can get at Towers without riding TH13TEEN. Unfortunately, you don't get it on Stealth in contrast. In defense, RRC looks very good and I'd love to ride it, but I doubt it'd live up to my expectations being honest.Feel free to argue with me. I'd love to see what people think of RRC but obviously my side of it can only go for RITA but yeah, thought I'd dip my penny in!

I know it contradicts myself but I agree. I love the way its rough and that airtime off the MCBR is astounding and it really makes SAW stand out from (well Rage) the other eurofighters' I've ridden. But I can't decide if I'd rather it be tamer and smoother, or the way it is... It is a LOT rougher than I recall
-
I wanted to ask this.SAW's roughness. Other than the first (well second, but first outside) inversion, at the bottom of the 'Daddy Drop' is naturally rough due to the train going into the inversion one way, and coming out of it the other. But one thing I've noticed on SAW is some cars are rougher than others.Yesterday morning I had a 'normal' rough ride on SAW. With you lot, I had a really rough ride on SAW. Then in the evening I had a very smooth ride on SAW. And its not the first time I've noticed it, so perhaps it's certain cars that make it so rough? My other point to put across is, that the indoor section is smooth throughout. And that maybe SAW should consider using its Mid-course brakes, as the inversion after that is rough regardless of car; and that perhaps a couple of trim brakes wouldn't hurt as with the indoor being smooth, it makes me wonder if it's the speed it gains that makes it so rough...

Being from Blackpool I'm used to rough rides. Grand National, Big Dipper, Revolution... all old and sea-battered.And yes, I admit SAW is rough and that's down to it being awfully designed. I mean who the hell designs a ride to head into an inversion one way, then flip it to go the other in a split-second But for me I'm like JoshC, I find Colossus to rough to warrant. If it's got no queue, okay I'd do it. Or if a big group wanted to do it, I'd do it. I've done it twice in my life, once in March, once in June. And yesterday I didn't even bother. It's the roughest thing I've ever ridden, not helped by my size (long legs, thin chest) meaning it kills me to get into the back rows of the cars, and I'm flying everywhere in the restraint whilst my legs are pinned right into the seat. For me, it's not the ride thats rough. It's the trains that make it rough. I can deal with a bit of a bash around on my neck, on that SAW is worse. But when I'm so heavily pinned and squashed in, even going over the air-time hill before the Cobra is like death to me.

Flipper replied to Coastermaniac94's topic in General Discussion
Well my ten...1. Stealth - Thorpe Park2. Samurai - Thorpe Park3. SAW: The Ride - Thorpe Park4. Oblivion - Alton Towers5. Revolution - Pleasure Beach Blackpool6. Sonic Spinball - Alton Towers7. The Flume - Alton Towers8. Pepsi Max Big One - Pleasure Beach Blackpool9. Slammer - Thorpe Park10. Grand National - Pleasure Beach BlackpoolNice and varied. Some I like for thrill; some I like for what they do; some I like because they're fun -
Colossus repaint definitely, it looks hideous. It wouldn't be so bad but it's so intertwined with the pathways that it's really noticeable. I think what's worse about it though is the "swamp" water underneath the Cobra... I presume that's meant to be clean and fresh looking, or is it not even meant to have water there? I've never know it any different...As Original Glazed said, I think the flickering sign for SAW and shabby paintwork on it adds to the effect. I think something I would want to see myself is a general tidy of X:\ I found the way out, as that looks bleak inside. So many paint scuffs and chips in the walls it's not pleasant. Equally, I think Stealth's queue line could use some work. Especially in the extensions the fences are old and quite knackered and the paving isn't great in places; especially with SWARM coming, and one entrance to it being underneath Stealth (which is looking nice by the way Thorpe!) I think it could use the TLC to improve it and make it more presentable.

Yeah my ride on Storm Surge was just as bad as in the video today. Water deep enough to give you trench foot in the dinghy, and not much spinning. Got quite wet on it though, despite the "water sprinkler fall thing" not being on, wasn't impressed. It's normally a dry water ride

This is taken from my whole day trip report over on TowersNerd (I gave you guys a mini-plug but I wasn't too sure how to plug you, when I think of how, I'm adding a big chunk about you in!) Also, I got everything from the countdown to the fireworks right up until after they blew up the vehicle in a video, it's currently being uploaded to YouTube, will share when it's up (quality isn't great)And thanks to everyone for letting me join you on-and-off during the day!
-
Oh, okay. Shame. Means my mate can't go. I've got a Standard MAP anyway so I can pay the £5 online. I might as well join you guys for the day on Sunday, if someone replies in the trip report. My mate's local anyway, got a week booked with him so he wont mind!

It doesn't say anything regarding Fireworks displays on the paper T&C that both I have, or on the wall in my staff room. I asked at work but they're unsure too. I know there's no restrictions for Alton Towers at all, and I know that there was a £5 charge on Fright Nights and no entry on Magic Pass on a Saturday during Fright Nights (I want it for Sunday anyway for Fireworks), but I just want a rough idea for this really. I guess I'll phone them in the morning Thanks for the reply though.

Hey guys.I'm "hoping" to come to the event on Sunday. I've got a Merlin Magic Pass, but it doesn't state anywhere *if* it's valid at Blow **IT up, or if I have to pay. And it's not listed either on my Magic Pass restrictions...Anybody able to shed light on this, or will I need to phone them do you think? :/

I meant anyone know why it's closed? -,-

Is it true that Detonator was the temporary replacement that kind of... stayed?Or is that TTF talking bull?

Anyone know why Stealth's advertised on the website as closed at the moment?
