  1. I don't have a MAP as such - I have Merlin Membership (I am poor!) - so yeah, it is only a fiver. My sister had a similar problem last week (she has premium) and just told me that I should be ok as I have the order number. Weird because I have the Event Brite app but if I search for Summer Nights literally nothing comes up - odd!
  2. Was going to go tonight but that plan changed yesterday - just hope rain holds off tomorrow! - Not sure if anyone can answer this but I ordered my SN ticket and it said that a confirmation email would be sent....but it hasn't. I have the order number and have taken screen shots of the confirmation thing that pops up after you order (did in on my laptop and took pics from my phone) - also sent TP an email regarding it - anyone else had similar problem?

  4. X

I heard the X music on Friday and I am as deaf as a post! It may have been quieter than usual but I was busy sweating like a pig!
  5. Billy is kinda scary although I have a pic of him on my living room wall along with a ton of ride pics/maps etc. When I took my nieces friend on Saw for the first time (she is 11) we got the second train which stops next to Billy so I was a bit worried - she was totally fine with it but got a bit scared later on when it was getting dark. I know there is a recommendation that people are 12 or over but she was desperate to go on it and I've seen kids that look younger than her on it before. Yeah I'm not a massive fan of horrors as I scare easily - I won't name the film but I watched one (not sure if it is horror as it was more gory than anything) and I felt so ill I couldn't even drink anything as I was convinced I would bring it back up again. I don't understand people who watch gory films while packing away a load of food!
  6. Do you mean Billy? That thing used to freak me out a lot to the point where it gave me a panic attack on one occasion! I hadn't see the Saw films until 2 years ago and after riding Saw many times. They are a bit, no a lot gory but pretty good if you are into that sort of thing.
  7. Think I overheard a member of staff mention X being on 3 trains this evening Went this afternoon/evening and had a fab time - X x 2 Rush x 1 Quantum x 2 Colossus x 3 slammer x 1 Loggers x 1 saw x 3 Rocky express(!) X 1 Mr monkeys banana ride x 1 inferno x 3 Stealth x 3 Rumba x 3 Swarm x 4 Flying fish finger x 1 Nice quiet evening - really good staff (one who helped assist me calm my nieces nerves before her first ride on Swarm) Loggers water tastes and smelt like fish - yummy Discovered a new ride buddy in the form of my nieces 11 year old friend who had no fear on anything and actually talked about theming and atmosphere of some of the rides - was a bit apprehensive about taking her on Saw but she was desperate to go on and she remembered every single detail of the ride and it is her joint favourite along with Swarm (same as me). Was concerned that Billy might scare her but I made light of it and she was more concerned about the pigeons on the way back into the station My sister hadn't been to the park since 2003 and didn't look too shocked about the paintwork on Colossus?! She said that she prefers the atmosphere at Chessie but then she has visited CWOA a lot more Bargain stealth drinks bottles for £1.....£1! Oh and we saw a group of boys who looked about 12 swamped with teenage girls - no idea who they were but I took a pic because I am nosey
  8. Have a fab meet guys - I'm currently half dead after being at the park with 2 hyperactive 11 year olds today. Hope to make a different meet in the not so distant future x
  9. Looking unlikely that I will be able to make this now boooo! Off to TP today with my niece for her first visit there and I think Saturday could be difficult for me as it is a date that I struggle with. Will also likely be shattered after spending a long day with two 11 year olds! Was hoping I would feel ok for it but alas, things crop up with family etc. Would love to join another meet soon as it feels like forever since my last one and would be fab to see all you crazy people again. Hope you all have a fab time and if on the slim occasion that I can make it then shall update this post later. Have fun dudes

    Nice collection there!

True that - the original poltergeist did scare me although to be fair I was a lot younger! Bit gross here but meh - I've seen the first 2 human centipede films (out of morbid curiosity - first one made me feel so ill I couldn't eat or drink anything for a while as I was so close to blowing chunks!). Saw the final sequence (film 3) the other night and blimey - it wasn't so much grim but the acting was horrific! I'm guessing it was very low budget and the actors probably didn't get paid a heck of a lot. Yeah I don't know why I just admitted to seeing all human centipede films - I'm not the full ticket to be fair! Not the sort of film you can watch whilst eating (in fact they are great appetite suppressants!) Loving the Minions film - I've always thought they look like Tic Tacks and discovered last week you can buy minion tic tacks - and I'm waffling...,,
  12. Would a cheeky Nandos experience involve going to Nandos and not having chicken?! No longer veggie after 14 years without meat so a much overdue proper cheeky Nandos is required!

Banned for being harsh dude - poor SCB! Also, since when did you become The Extremist? Banned for confusing me eeeeek
  14. Thanks for posting
  15. It's always best not to soil yourself in queues - especially in this weather = smelly and loads of flies about - but seriously, I have anxiety problems and if I'm in a queue and feel nervous I just distract myself which usually helps a lot Regarding Detonator - for me personally I hate it - only because I hate the feeling of dropping but I know lots here that absolutely love it. I did it 4 times in 2013 then vowed never again. I would definitely give it a try though because you never know if you will like it or not. Regarding queuing for it - well, it is a short ride, but then so is Stealth - I would see how the queues are and decide accordingly (especially in this hot weather). Detonator is one of those rides that doesn't look that bad - it doesn't look too high until you are on it (but saying that, I am petrified of heights) - it's sort of the reverse of Slammer - as in, Slammer I think looks a heck of a lot worse than it actually is (I used to nearly mess my pants just waching it!) yet Detonator looks fairly tame but is pretty intense. I would definitely say give it a go - took me a long time but I've finally ridden everything at Thorpe Park. With regards to school trips - you should notice that come 3-4pm the park becomes a lot quieter - advice would be to have either an early or late lunch to avoid huge queues at the food outlets - oh, and drink plenty of fluids, especially in this heat we've been having. Have a great trip!
  16. Kind of cheeses me off, the amount of comments I've seen on the web about how Alton Towers should be shut down - yes the incident with the Smiler was horrific and shouldn't have happened which Merlin have acknowledged and handled brilliantly. The press are just picking up on the tiniest pointless things which happen and hapoen regularly at theme parks - I've stopped on the lift hill on Air before as well as being evacuated from Rumba Rapids(!), a slight stuck moment on The Vampire ride and had to be released from Smiler by battery pack thing inside the station - I'm a naturally nervous person but none of those things made alarm bells ring - are members of the GP really that daft or maybe I am being harsh. When people say they will never go to a park again I just think - well that's less people in a queue. But I do feel for Alton Towers because they are getting so much grief over recent non newsworthy events (not including Smiler here). And unfortunately it appears a lot of people will buy into the scaremongering
  17. The media really do seem to have it in for Towers - they should be reporting proper news stories not scaremongering dammit

Oh Lord if I got stuck at the top I genuinely don't know what I would do - but it doesn't stop me riding as the chances of that are incredibly slim. The views probably would be amazing but I think I would be too scared to open my eyes - yes I'm a wimp!
  19. Han30 replied to Dan_Rush's topic in General Discussion
Regarding rollbacks - I think I would possibly soil myself if I ever had one! I'm petrified of heights and the thought of the train teetering for a bit scares me a tad - hence why I like to sit at the back. I know the chances of a rollback these days are slim but in my mind if I sit near the back and a roll back happens, it is less far to travel! Oh my goodness- poor pigeon getting hit by the train! Good that it didn't hit a person as I would imagine face + bird + 80mph would hurt.....a lot! So, Planenut - how many rides on Stealth did you get done?
  20. Haha yes! They have a gallery on their website with dogs at different places with captions. One of them is something along the lines of "sausages at sunset"
  21. I would love a sausage dog or pug - got a bit obsessed with sausage dogs when I discovered that there is a sausage dog hotel!

That new Poltergeist film - serious question here.....was it meant to be funny? I literally laughed out loud pretty much throughout it and I am quite a wuss with those sorts of things (first time I watched Most Haunted on my own I had to sleep with all my lights on). Anyone know when Sinister 2 is coming out? Ta!
  23. Really sad news - she had gone through a lot to try and save the leg to no avail, poor girl. As I've said before, I can't even begin to imagine what it must feel like to lose a limb but I wish her and all the others injured that day the best possible future after what they have been through
  24. Got a steam cleaner yesterday - my life is complete! But seriously, many people have posted things they want to achieve by the time they are 30. Um well I'm past that age so hmmm, in the next few years I want to: 1) continue to improve mentally and work on my fitness 2) quit smoking 3) following on from 1, get a job 4) until I reach 3, volunteer work (looking into cat fostering at the moment) 5) get on a plane 6) get on a plane that is going to actually go somewhere 7) once of meds, learn to drive or at the very least have a couple of lessons 8) campaign for causes I am passionate about 9) I can't sleep so my brain is switching off - maybe sort out my insomnia by reducing caffeine intake
  25. Saw had cars going round the track yesterday - not sure how long for but on 2 seperate occasions when I was in that area I saw trains going round. At one point while walking towards Samurai one went really slowly I though it was going to stall but it didn't. The trains were sat outside the station for a little while then went round again while I was on Samurai. They also had the area up to the ride closed (so you weren't able to walk past Saw Alive or get closer to Saw)
