  2. Just watched the 2014 advert. Apparently the Azteca hotel will be opening in August, unsurprising really seeing they've barely started, however seems a bit late in the year considering peak season is from June IMO. I think its disgraceful they're advertising Dragon Falls with the rocks there. Yes it does look much more impressive the ugly concrete look it had in 2013, but gearing from what's said, there's no way they would replace the rocks if the park has confirmed the ride will be rethemed at a later date (or maybe never).
  3. Part Two of my Oakwood video trip is now officially completed. The second half resolves the cliffhangers of the first part and also showing one of the last ever videos of the now removed Brer Rabbit and Wild West Area and also the preparation and aftermath of my first ride on Megafobia.
  4. Banned for re-awakening a quiet topic.
  5. This is interesting to see what they're doing here. Despite being one of the few themed areas of the park, it looked a bit of a mess in that area and not a patch to the greatness of the Neverland area. I'm assuming they will just be updating the restaurants and games in the area, but even so, the area needs it considering the chicken place there was rather small, overpriced and with no indoor seating too, would be great if they fixed this. Hopefully this area will turn out as great as Neverland, although I hope they can give a few touch ups to the logflume as it looked quite incomplete when I rode it.
  6. I think its safe to say, that the voting process for this meet has had more twists and turns than the Smiler .
  7. I'm so pleased the park, have now started putting efforts to renovating park infrastructures, especially when their food offerings last year weren't that great and seeing that this restaurant looked in need of a face lift.
  8. Here's my part one of my Oakwood video adventure which has been months overdue. Part two should hopefully follow soon.
  9. TBH, a new flat ride or two would be a good addition at the park, seeing they invested in a young family area in 2013 and that the park only really has two of them, one of which is pay extra and the other a bit crap. I would like to see a new family/thrill coaster there soon, but seeing that we may be receiving several attractiones and this isn't a big. Park, that's probably wishful thinking. I'm certain the area of Brer Rabbit will be used for this development, seeing how large the footprint is there which could almost fit a ride the size of Drench there, but then again, they may just retheme the ride again (preferably to a Western theme). I would really like to see another dark ride at the park, especially if the ride system of the defunct Brer Rabbit is ripped out, as Spooky 3D and the Neverland Walkthrough are really justifiable enough as the only indoor attractiones in a park where it rains most of the year.
  10. Oh dear, Just as it looked like we may have had a winner recently, the dates are tied again.

    Youtube Videos

Here's a brilliant performance from One Direction .
  12. That couldn't be more true. If Falls is to remain in it's stale state for 2014 (and probably beyond) they need to start reimaging falls in the map and marketing photos. With all the other things last year going on, plus a sudden competition which was heavily advertised and then postponed, I'm certain it's a matter of time before the park comes a feature on watchdog soon. In terms of what the final image of the refurbished market square looks like, it could go two ways. It will either be an impressive relaxing area with nicely blended surroundings or just shadow from its golden days.
  13. I'm very pleased for the park's attendance receiving a huge boost last season and the potential news of new ride/s joining the park next year (even if they're nothing of a large scale). Having visited the park last year on one of their busiest days of the year, I can say I had an excellent day and thoroughly enjoyed it and a lot of the park which looked brilliant, especially the new Neverland area which is arguably better than most (or all) recent themed additions in Merlin parks. Though it still has a way to go before it becomes a top Uk park, food choices and quality, toilets, staff interaction and faster loading and more themed areas, Oakwood progressed quite well last year, compared to a number of other parks (Cough, Chessington, cough) which went backwards in 2013.
  14. Creaky Cafe appears to have been removed from the food and drink section of Chessington's website. http://www.chessington.com/plan-your-trip/food-drink.aspx Considering this isn't surprising seeing how the place was severely damaged in the fire, this could mean either the restaurant will be rebranded when/if it reopens, there won't be a restaurant there for the 2014 season, or it's just a tempory measure until it Reopens. Bubbleworks is still listed for reopening in march, so presumably the ride received little to no damaged.
  15. Would it be the Dragons Claw from Adventure Island?
  16. Well seeing as we have MOS during the whole season, Summer Nights and Sun Scream in the summer and Fright Nights at the end of the season, the park has quite a few events, however I would like to see any of the following happen in the future (or even this season). More dome events like the ones we saw quite a few times last year such as comedy nights, roller discos and music gigs return as they give a great variety of additional entertainment for the park. The return of the fireworks, which would be greatly received if done right with the new widened target audience and would end the park season literally with a bang. However, I doubt we would see this return until at least 2015 if not later. A half term event like towers again where selected rides are open. Despite not going too well in the 2007-2009 period it ran, I feel it could work much better now the park has a greater range of attractiones and also the addition of another indoors one too, plus the efforts we've seen I. 2013. However we wouldn't see this until at least 2015, if ever.
  17. Due to shortage of money and other commitments, I won't be able to make this trip now, but whoever goes, have a great time and I look forward to seeing you in march for the Thorpe open meet.
  18. Here's what we will likely see from the retheme. //I.imgflip.com/67kzb.jpgvia Imgflip Meme Maker
  19. In a slightly unforeseen move, the park will be opening a selection of rides during its African Adventures event during half term, which includes TombBlaster and Hocus Pocus. Full details can be seen below. http://www.chessington.com/plan-your-trip/african-adventures.aspx I'm quite surprised they're opening Tomb Blaster as this gas never happened before considering its right round the other side of the park. However what concerns is, what if this means park maintenance won't be done, considering they're supposed to be doing a lot of works there this year and surely this may limit work on the rethemed Scorpion Express, even though reports suggest were in for disapointmrnt. I guess Bubbleworks is presumably not there as they are still working on repairing the fire damage round there, seeing we still don't know what they will do with Creaky Cafe.
  20. Maybe it's me, but am I the only one who thinks we may not see Runaway Train Aka Scorpion Express reopen at the park til June, even if it is still rockless as they really are taking their time on this retheme considering they had all of the 2013 season to fix this. Chessington really have become lazy, dull and unimaginative recently, except for Wild Asia.
  21. Out of the days chosen, it had to be the one I couldn't do. I'm afraid I won't be able to attend this trip as I'm working all day then unless something miraculous happens. I was looking forward to going here again after five years, but certainly obviously wasn't to be. Whoever's going, have a good time!
  22. Wow, can't believe it's this time of season nearly. In terms of dates, either weekend seems okay for me at the moment.

    Legoland Florida

Thanks the pictures and report. Legoland Florida looks a nice clean and fresh and despite first impressions, I can say now it looks better than Legoland Windsor and puts the park to shame as our one being the worst of the parks (although I know nothing of what the Malaysia one is like). Good to see Jungle Coaster working well in its new home and the new Chima area looking nice, bar the slightly shed like tunnel.
  24. The music for the Smiler is very dark, sinister and atmospheric which does the job of the ride's theme tune and certainly reflects the creepy experimental inoculation theming point of the ride. It's amazing how the track is actually over an hour long but yet with subtle changes in the music throughout the theme, something I certainly didn't notice when I spent 2.5 hours in the queue for the ride. IMA score have created some brilliant soundtrack and from what happened with the ride last year, the soundtrack is one of the few things that went right for the Smiler in 2013.
  25. This will be very interesting to see how this one works, considering B&M have only built coasters in the past aimed for thrilling rides. A B&M inverter without inversions or thrilling elements, will be very strange and interesting to see.
