  1. They have got to stop taking out rides. Whip, turtle chase, Bling, Log Flume, Space Invaders, Swamp Buggies. There is enough empty space for new attractions so that can't be the problem. Perhaps H&S reasons or the upkeep costs. Whatever the case, I hope these rumours are false. Regarding the Mouse, it is like Thorpe Park getting rid of Nemesis Inferno or Colossus. The mouse is a classic and should be treated and preserved like one.

    Slammer

Shame really. I'm not sure about Slammer, but Samurai is fantastic at fright nights. I am looking forward to their return in 2013 though. By the way has it been confirmed on weather the rumour of Samurai being moved and re themed to the Swarm area was a false lead?
  3. They can't keep it there forever surely. I imagine 8 years maximum. Hopefully sooner if it continues to fail and deteriorate.

    Vortex

I have never really had a problem with the restraints. They do freak me a bit out when they are dropped but so long as I am ready for them, they don't bother me much. Wow. I love how open it was back then. I always imagined trees had always surrounded it like they do now. Also funny seeing the ride at the factory. Great find!
  5. Can't pretend I am not disappointed; they were doing so well afterall. Still I can see them returning at some stage.
  6. I honestly don't see the point sometimes. They get hurt from their own foolish mistakes, Thorpe get punished for it. (breaching health and safety or some nonsense like that)
  7. It is not a big shock for me really. Not to be offensive in any way, but to me Thorpe is like chav central. Loads of idiots trying to be 'hard' or whatever. It does my head in when things like this happen but again I can't say I'm surprised in the slightest. The way 'THORPE PARK' advertises itself is bound to attract many of them. Still I understand why Thorpe sometimes seem unwilling to invest in certain things. I would be the same.
  8. Was this where that Fright Night maze was a few years ago. The one which was based around the Thorpe Park Graveyard or something like that. It had a few old Thorpe farm signs amongst other things. I can't remember it that well but I don't remember it being that good.

    Legoland

I seem to remember the Prince has gone, though I think he was just getting a fix up. The Aladdin's Cave entrance rock is broken. The Lego dude would pull the ring and part of the entrance would move. Sadly it looks like the ring has snapped judging by what I saw last time. I seem to remember some form of bubble machine there once and I am sure the trolls head in the water used to be more active. Now he just gives this pathetic little squirt. Other than that I cannot remember. I think the wolfs Walkman may have been missing last time too. If they restore all this, the ride would be perfect.

    Legoland

I would love for them to repair it and maybe add a new scene/spruce up the old ones a little but I would hate for them to remove it as we always end up riding it at least two times every time we go down. I noticed some of the anamatroincs were either gone or not working last time I was there. Hope these will get fixed.

    Legoland

From what I have looked at from the documents, it seems that this new water play structure is our version of the waterparks located in the two American Legoland parks. Sadly this won't appeal to me much but at least they are still updating what they have got. Good for them. I am really just waiting for them to install a new coaster though. I am not expecting anything big but something along the lines of the former Jungle Coaster could do wonders for the park.
  12. That is pretty cool. Makes a change from all those upturned vehicles. It may just be the lighting but I think I see a bit of the original red on the box, though I too would have preferred if the red was more noticeable/dominant. I also thought it was black because it had been burned/scorched, though I suppose if it had been, the glass would have exploded. Sort out those reliability issues with the effects and this will be truly amazing. (like it isn't already)

    The Crash Pad

Hey, I know it may not be the right place, but I didn't see it worth opening up a new topic. Is it Merlin who allocate the budget to the park or Blackstone? I only say this, seeing as Merlin rely on Blackstone financially. I am just curious to know why all the budgets vary from park to park.
  14. I thought Thorpe Park was third of fourth after Blackpool PB/Legoland Windsor? Or are these old stats that are no longer relevant/valid? I can never really understand what is number one, as I cannot find an official source.

    The Crash Pad

Certainly not my cup of tea, but hey, what does it matter to me. I have no intention in staying in them. Cool ideas for some places and events, but Thorpe meh? Look a bit cheap from the outside. Still whatever, they are only temporary. If that's the route they want to go down, then so be it. Personally I don't think they deserve the title of Resort until they actually build a hotel of their own.

    2013 Changes

I recon they can get away with leaving Inferno for a few more years. Its dark red paint job is still pretty distinctive (if a little dirty) even now. I'ed love for them to spruce up either/both Colossus and X:// No way out but I don't recon they will, not yet anyway.

    2013 Changes

I think that maybe it is best for them to have a year off adding any new attraction. (even though I doubt they will) Personally I would use next year to clean up one of the existing rides, maybe a minor retheme or something along those lines. Still I am sure that whatever they have in store, it is going to be interesting and enjoyable. I guess we will just have the wait and see.
  18. Oh sorry about that. I was sure that it had been semi confirmed regarding its return in 2013, though it was so long ago since I heard the news I may have misunderstood it. My bad. Even so I still think it would be a nice touch to reinstate the effect and I personally would not be surprised if it made a return sometime in the future so long as it is a viable proposition, but hey, that is just my opinion.
  19. Looks pretty cool. Now lets just hope they stick to what they said they were going to do and reinstate the tidal wave effect. I think that would shock people the most as the effect has been off for years now and would really catch people unexpectedly.
  20. Glad they have sorted that out. I am just upset and irritated that the coaster has only been around a few months and it has already been the victim of vandals (Mainly the church building) It just feels upsetting and disrespectful that Thorpe have actually made a effort for The Swarm, then it is ruined by inconsiderate..."people" who just come and mess it up. It really ruins the atmosphere, seeing rude/dumb and pointless comments scribbled over the walls. Still I guess it is inevitable really. No point trying to fight it.
  21. I would actually say Vortex is my favourite ride as I find it ridiculously fun, but I voted for Swarm, as it really shocked me when I last went. Logical.
  22. Not bad at all. Glad to see them continuing to theme the area. Id like to hope that they get round to doing a few small tweaks to other rides and areas, but hey even if they don't, I am glad they have gone that little bit extra for the Swarm.
  23. ^ Says it all really. Maybe theming it to Amity by making it appear rusty didn't work as well as they originally hoped.
  24. Judging by the last bit, it sounds alot like 'Call my name' by Cheryl Cole.
