I think I shall make the plunge and join you for this meet. As for the tour, seeing as I'm newish and don't post much, I shall not do that part as it seems rather unfair against the many other members of this forum.

I remember last year Premium pass holders had to fill in a form so that we could print off an entry ticket to be given at the entrance. No charge though. Wonder if they will do the same again this year.

If your staying on resort just buy the Express pass for 50 euros, well worth it and you'll get plenty of rides in! Have a great time! Yep! We bought those as the park was fairly busy, and definitely worth the 50 euros. Managed to get a good few goes on Shambhala and Dragon Khan!

Current top 10: 1. Nemesis 2. The Smiler 3. Montu 4. The Hulk 5. The Swarm 6. Kraken 7. Dueling Dragons 8. Oblivion 9. Stealth 10. Dragon's Fury This will all change after next week once I have been to PA!
-
Why fastrack is being sold now, when Towers 'said' that it wouldn't be happening until a few months after the Smiler has opened At least there is a limit, but I dread to think how much this will affect the queue time for the main queue. Had the chance to ride the Smiler on Thursday, after it spiting me a few times when trying to plan a trip to Towers (not easy when you live down south and have to consider petrol and hotel costs.) And I was very surprised with how smooth it was, for a Gerst considering most Gerstlauers I have ridden nearly always give me a headache or pain on my shoulder area. Loved the whole ride experience and it has made it's way into my top 3, Nemesis is still number one in my eyes!

Heading off to PA on Monday... looking forward to finally getting the chance to ride Shambhala and Dragon Khan! Hopefully it won't be too busy as I've heard many stories about the queuing in Spain, well what you could call queuing there aha!
-
I went on Wednesday afternoon and noticed the queue reached 90 mins, probs was more but I didn't bother queueing for it. I did also notice the fastrack queue for the Swarm was long - didn't surpriseme. I guess some people wanted to guarantee that they get a ride on it. Colossus and Nemesis Inferno were walk-on so I decided to get re-ride on those. SAW and Stealth still had a fair amount of people in the queue, I queued for around 30 mins for both.

How Many Times Have You Been To Thorpe Park This Year
Lottie. replied to Emma1980's question in Quick Questions
I've been seven times so far, hoping to go back tomorrow so it might be my eighth visit otherwise I may be back in a couple of weeks. I try to visit at least twice a month, if not more however it varies on money and how much I can stretch on petrol for travel. -
11th August 2012 Trip Report I'm not a great writer of trip reports so this might be quite basic So I went to Thorpe Park today and was very lucky to have a generous friend's mother who forked out on the Ultimate Fastrack for both of us so managed to get on a lot of rides! I was hoping for the new fire effect in the Swarm area to be working today (one of the reasons why I wanted to go to Thorpe) but I was to be disappointed. Hopefully next time I visit Thorpe they might have it working. Zodiac and Rumba Rapids were out of action today, Rush had a small moment of being closed off but re-opening later on in the afternoon with one swing working, SAW was also closed for small period of time then re-opened. Other than that everything else was working a-ok. Queue times were long, maximum was 125 mins from what I saw and the shortest being 10 mins. Ride count for today: The Swarm x7 Nemesis Inferno x2 Colossus x3 Stealth x3 SAW x2 Rush x2 Vortex Samurai X:/ No Way Out Loggers Leap

Went to Thorpe today and none of the effects (fire and water) in the Swarm area were working. Was a shame as I wanted to see the new fire effect from the fire engine - maybe next time But I did manage to get 7 rides on the Swarm today - with the help of the Ultimate Fastrack

Thanks for sharing Liam I'm looking forward to SW7 - can't wait for the ride parts to arrive on park, even though that's not going to happen for a while as the footers haven't even been constructed yet! Wish things would start soon, want some new pictures aha!

I enjoyed the opening ceremony. Granted there were a couple of things that I did kinda think 'what the hell?!' But there were moments that I really enjoyed such as James Bond and the Queen sequence, Rowan Atkinson's part in the performance of 'Chariots of Fire', the very beginning showing the history of London. However the part I very much loved was the lighting of the cauldron - it looked truly spectacular! Danny Boyle did a truly fantastic job of putting this opening ceremony together. It made me feel very patriotic and proud to be British!

I notice pluk quoted me so I'll just explain why I voted it last against other B&M's in the UK. First off, I do enjoy riding Air because it does the job very well as a Flying coaster. But I am one of those enthusiasts that need a coaster to have a bit of intensity like Nemesis and Oblivion. I haven't ridden any other B&M flyers around the world so I can't compare Air but I think the public just enjoy the tameness of the ride. Really I'm just reiterating what others have already explained here.
