Annual Pass stay in the hotel
I feel like this thread has just become a boasting-about-how-many-days-you've-done-at-a-theme-park-in-a-row circle jerk. Well I've never done a theme park twice in a row. Ever. So beat that. Meerrhr.

It makes sense to the mining culture. As said in the video miners would spend time in the shafts whistling and making synchronized sounds in rhythms and beats to create music to help them work efficiently and stop them from getting bored, so its very traditional, but by no means is it a theatrical IMAScore piece, it seems much more relevant and discreetly down-toned. I do like how they call water dummies white women. :3

Project WC16 - New for 2016
Not sure if its been mentioned anywhere but metal panelling has been sunk into the ground on the X side of the site. The old shark tank has also been filled with water, and the floor drill (that was used for the footers for swarm) has arrived on the site and is zipping around very happily. Also, there were a couple of trucks that arrived on the site yesterday, delivering more material.

Six Flags Magic Mountain
Medusa is like thee ultimate hybrid, yeah. The last couple years they all seem to be samey and too much steel like in layout, medusa was able to capture the dips and turns of a wooden coaster whilst adding inversions. The more recent ones, especially Goliath have moments when they just seemed to be locked to a grid, and its very distasteful for a coaster.

Six Flags Magic Mountain
Ah, thanks for that EC. A bit of an ugly colour to paint wood though.

Six Flags Magic Mountain
The way six flags terms their coasters is confusing. If it's a flat ride that happens to have a carriage similar to a coaster, its a coaster. If it's made of 85% steel (a la wicked cyclone, where the supports and toppers are steel) its a hybrid. If it's 50/50 like twisted Colossus where the supports are a mix of steel and wood, its a woody. If I could class coasters, I'd say if it's track is like RMCs but it's supported by wood, it's a hybrid. If it runs on steel toppers and has steel supports, its a steel. If it has traditional wooden coaster track and steel supports, its a hybrid, and if its wood, its wood. It's simple but as per usual Six flags have made a mess of it.

Edward Gardens || RCT3 PARK
1990 - March 16th Opening day!! I finally got my Dad to buy a ticket last night, they were only £7 for the whole day which is a great deal. I woke up really early this morning and we walked down to the park, and were greeted by a parade of cars, all parking in the car park. It looked busy. I also noticed the sky.. Red sky at morning, Shepard's warning, right? We were greeted by the stand up rollercoaster testing. I wasn't the only one taking pictures, lots of nerdy people like me were taking lots of pictures too. We walked up to the gate and my dad told the lady in the box his ticket code, and I showed my pass. She looked at me confused, then asked me where I got it from. I told her Mr. Tordale gave it to me, and she laughed and told me that I'd need to prove it, so I asked her to call him through the radio. She shook her head and said she'd called her manager because I was holding up the line. She actually called security. Luckily it was one of the security guards who I saw last year, and he recognized me and kindly took me to the mansion. My dad was stunned about it all and didn't say a word as we approached the huge building. It definitely felt like it was looking down on you. As we got to the gate, Mr. Tordale opened the door and saw me, and grinned. 'My boy Toby!' He yelped. 'What a pleasure it is to see you here. Isn't it great to see life in this place now, hmm? Yes, I thought you'd say yes. Now what is it I can do for you?' 'My ticket doesn't work' I replied, holding the life card infront of him. 'How bizarre. I specifically told my manager upon training that ticket vendors recognize annual passes... Maybe I didn't say yours. Ah well. For the future though, just go up to the turnstyles and put it in the slot, it scans it like a rail card and you should be in!' 'Oh ok' I replied happily. 'Now, off you go, enjoy the park! Come back to me this evening and tell me what you think.' Me and my Dad turned away, and walked straight to the map to decide where to go. My dad still looked surprised at it all.. part 2 very soon

The Six Flags Thread
This may be kicking a dead horse but jesus christ this new ride is very impressive. (very big spoiler cos its a POV n stuff) Unfortunately due to the 3dness I was unable to fully grasp the screens, but they mostly looked slightly too cartoony for my liking. But that has been proven to work, like in the old spiderman. The ride system is very impressive. The movements look great, and the use of targets on the videos is also fantastic. And the animatronic scenes rather then projections were so much more impressive then I personally could've expected from Six Flags. The joker animatronic was absolutely fantastic. Great use of fire, smoke and strobes, and overall a very good looking ride for the six flags portfolio. Seriously, seriously impressed considering their track record with theming and immersive experiences.

I was just reading some articles in a local paper and found a couple with different legolands involved and I was worried that I wouldn't be permitted access. Thanks anyway.

So much gold... Can I ask, is the holding brake element new? Not the brake itself, but the way it sort of stops, moves a little, stops again and then releases, rather then stop, release?

Slammer
This is why I dislike detty^ 3 intense 5 me Back to the point, there is very very little chance the ride would be testing seeing the state it was in at the weekend. There were no cables or lift mechanisms on the two towers (they looked very stripped) and there were alot of big parts waiting to the side in a gated area by slammer. There were engineers looking at the seating area on slammer, and a couple of funny noises, but there was no movement. S&S have completely stopped the supply of the sky swat parts, apart from seats, as they are the same model used on several of their other rides such as the screamin swing.

Legoland
Can I just ask to what point to Legoland enforce the age rules? '"Our policy [is] not to permit entry to groups of adults, adult couples, or lone adults, regardless of circumstances, who are not accompanied by a child or children under the age of 16".' I have a cousin from Australia whos been looking to go since she heard of it, but she is 19. I'm 17. Will we be turned away, or are they not so much by the book? (it'll probably be just us 2)
