  1. Not if you vote monster raving loonies. It'll be a necessity for all civilians in the UK to have access to a nuclear bomb so if a robot ever did come along, us boot weilding beardy men on unicorns can wipe them off the face off the earth!
  2. You say that but actually Gordon Brown and Blair were the ones who waltzed us into debt. Conservatives have done a very good job at getting us out of it. I don't agree with alot of what the tories say and do but the one thing they ARE good at is cleaning up after labours mad cash spending run. You say that cameron has been spending lots, but who was it the other week who said that during the recession, labour 'should have borrowed more'...?
  3. If I could vote I'd vote Lid Dems or Green. Or Monster raving loonies because I really want a unicorn.
  4. What pin badges do you have? Do you collect them? Looking to sell them? Pin badges here! Okay, to start it off, I have a limited amount of pin badges right now but I'm looking to collect all of the chessington ones. Whether I visit the park and find them on the floor or buy them for a good price here I'm willing to at least try and get them all.
  5. You were told to shut up so I really suggest you do so before you get on everyone's nerves.
  6. That's not necessarily true. I've witnessed John Wardley myself say that he has used No Limits to create concepts for rides. It's a programme that coaster makers use too, and is a favourite tool of the physics person for companys such as B&M and Mack Werner Strengel. Competitions like this have been held before too, not necessarily by independant companies, and they may not have carried through as thoroughly as some of us would have liked, but Chessington themselves did a competition on retheming areas. It also states that the winners design will be changed to be appropriate for an actual park. Finally, I'd like to point out that at the IAAPA this year there was a small family park company who had a new design in partnership with GCI. It was literally a amtter of a guy wanting to make his wooden coaster for his new park unique, so he opened up no limits and made a wooden rollercaoster boomerang thingy, sent it off, got the company to refine it and now it's being made. This CAN happen and it does! Sauce: Pesto.
  7. exactly. These days many people don't utilise study leave (myself included admittedly) but until a few days before the exam it can be seen as an extra holiday and many people go out to theme parks or to town to spend free time rather then studying hence why now many schools are stopping study leave (now including mine too)

You're mostly right ^ Rct3s problems rely in the fact that it can only eat up to half a gig of ram. The games aren't supported past 15 mb in size (which is why I use park cleanup) however upon the use of external programmes to get the parks to load it can easily corrupt the game due to 3rd party interruption. Billboards aren't too bad if your images quality is low and it uses a simple pallette of colours. Anyway, my LAPTOP (fml) specs are: i7 16 gb ram 2.50 ghz Nvidia GTX 720
  9. Yes the wheel will be like the cog spike wheel on a lift mechanism and will stop once the train has cleared the lift, or drop in this case. Pretty sweet!
  10. Yeah study leave for year 11's starts around about now. Year 12's go next week, and yr 13's the week after.
  11. Thomas land is probably the strongest of all the UK kids park franchises (Peppa pig, nickelodeon, angry birds and cebeebies) so good on them for expanding it. Like said a park doesnt need a big fat coaster or dark ride for it to be pleasant. If the park wants to orientate itself round a younger audience thats absolutely fine, especially if it works as well as thomas land is working.
  12. I was falling behind in other subjects anyway so my parents agreed that even if this didn't happen I'd remove myself from the course as I was at risk of jeopardizing my grades in other subjects too. We'd often have arguments but they'd spiral into a bunch of hollow statistics about unrelated facts about homeless women and circumcision. I talked to my head of year about getting a teacher change but as there is a limited number of a level teachers and they were maxed out by classes I would either have to drop it or keep my current teachers.
  13. Yeah I think it was the tipping point especially baring in mind it was quite strongly worded, but that was just reflecting my teachers use of dialogue in class. But the overall fact that her classes were geared to how great feminism is just bored me, and like I said every time she checked my book she'd give me a detention because there wasn't enough in it because the work was elsewhere and I pretty much showed no appreciation towards the class. It just wasn't enjoyable to any standard.
  14. Some pretty rude words below. The worst thing that I found in school was teachers with an extreme view forcing their view onto you. How so? Well I chose English language as an A level (I'm gonna be honest, the course was a load of bollocks) and one of my teachers was great. He was the head of department, and very laid back and gave us alot of freedom with half of our coursework (something I lapsed up and got an A in). However, my other teacher was much more questionable in her approach to teach. First of all, she set very strict and quick deadlines for homework. I would have a couple days to write a 2000 word essay on how dracula is sexist, and this was balancing with media and graphics coursework to do too. Secondly, she used to get frustrated with me for not writing anything in my book. At the start of the year we were all given revision books to also make notes in, and by the first term I had done every relevant question and page that we had highlighted. However she always checked our note books and because we spent most lessons arguing about how sexist things are we would rarely stay on the biased subject she wanted to stay on. She was massively sexist herself. All of our coursework on her side HAD to be on feminism and how great it was. If it wasn't she'd give us detentions, and write letters home. Because I don't share the same views with her. This was further emphasised as she clearly favoured the girls in our class. One of them was a firm feminaziist like her, so she would always be held back afterwards for constructive conversations on her work. She'd forbid taboo slang like using terms such as 'gay' or 'pussy' in the classroom because of her firm beliefs, which was fair enough, but it wasn't okay when she'd say 'right, we're talking about derogatory terms today, like c**t and n***er'. People literally found that offensive as she found sexist terms offensive but she dismissed them in the name of teaching. Now you may be thinking I'm a bit of an arse for being so rude about this equal rights believer. But she was beyond equal rights. She was a firm believer that men were superior in everything they do, and that it should be a criminal offense to use non neutral or masculine favouring universal terms like 'he and she' because the 'she' wasn't in front making the man more dominant. It would be ILLEGAL if she had her way. I'm all for feminism but when you're racist and extremely sexist yourself, and use false facts to shut down or raise arguements, and are, to be honest, just a complete bitch it's hard for people to ever ally with you So I got kicked off the course because I wrote how much I hate feminism in my coursework. Was gonna remove myself anyway. So if any of you ever take English Language A Level, make sure you get a freedom in the sources you choose for your exam and the style of coursework you write. Or it's just boring and as useless as hell.
  15. Good! Responding to the reason why it may have taken so long, Detonator is the only drop tower model of its kind. So it would have been custom designed and thorough checks would have had to take place. I went to a business conference for merlin about a week ago, and some interesting points were bought up. 2012 wasn't a good year for thorpe, let alone any park in the south. They were discussing it in a business forum and they concluded with the Olympics, most people stayed in very central london or with relatives and stayed for the shortest amount of time possible, so rather then the Olympics bringing customers to other businesses, it took them away. I talked around to other businesses and they confirmed this. Most London (or southern) based private small chain businesses saw a loss in customers over summer 2012.
  16. Yeah RCT3 can be a bit annoying with the tasks it can/can't do. I'm glad this happened! It's great to feel inspired by something, and to be honest this park is basically a mish mash of a couple things that have seriously inspired me (surprisingly drayton manor was a big player in getting the fundementals down). Anyway it feels great to have inspired you, Happy gaming! I know I had a little hiatus, my graphics card is already burnt out so the game wouldnt run with shadows and reflective water at the same time. Some cheeky photoshop skills and a simple ticking of boxes at the right times means I can still make nice pictures though, and run the game at all! Thank you for the lovely comments guys. If you don't mind, keep 'em coming. 1989 - July 19th *ring ring* *ring ring* 'Hello?' 'Oh hello, is Toby there?' 'Speaking, who is it?' 'Ah yes, it's Edward Toby!' 'Oh hello Mr. Tordale. What can I do for ya?' 'I was just wondering if your package arrived?' 'No sir, haven't had post in a little while.' 'Okay! Just to let you know, please come and visit on the 2nd of October. ' 'Oh any particu-' 'Just come! My dear boy. you will not be disappointed!' A couple days later, I got a small envelope in the post. A scribbled letter that read: Toby, you are a true inspiration to the passion behind my project. You have reminded me of the freedoms of youth, and the fascination of new discoveries that you are to make. So here, I give you this, as a small token of our somewhat broken friendship. Use it as you wish, when you wish. I hope to see you soon! E-T Inside the envelope, this: I am completely freaking out right now. In other news, annual passes for next season have started to go on sale. But I don't think I'm going to need to worry about that any time soon...
  17. Your hair is beautiful. And I see pizza (It turns out said pizza is just a party hat. Disappointing.). AND VORTEX? 8/8 gr8 bant m8 no h8 cant deb8
  18. The fact law is trying to concentrate so insanely hard on your shoulder whilst your standing there smugly smiling behind your good spoon friend person makes a good avatar. 8/10
  19. I think you'd be surprised how many staff are needed at theme parks if you think 1000 or so is more then normal
  20. Thanks for the comments guys! 1989 - May 4th *ring ring* *ring ring* 'Hello, Tordales estate?' 'Oh hello Harold.. It's Toby.' 'Toby...? Ah the scalawag who trespassed?' *muffled noises* 'Give me the bloody phone Harold.' 'Hello Edward! It's Toby!' 'Aah hello Toby! You got a phone I hear?' 'Yes, yes I did. We were just celebrating today for Thatchers 10 years!' 'Ah yes, us too! Do you want to come round for some cake and tea?' 'I would love to!' The entrance is complete. Finally I can see some security in the place... Although I had to put up a fight to get into the park. 'Ah Toby!' Mr. Tordale said as he opened the manor door. 'I decided to eat all the cake and drink all the tea. Sorry. So instead let me take you round the park.' 'Awesome!' 'This will be Azteca. The land will have 3 rides and will be themed around a mexican travel I once went on to a mayan tribe. And this is London midway. It's quite a temporary land, and will only exist until we have the funds to develop further north of the park. As you can probably tell, it's quite bare for now. That's set to change in the coming seasons, until we can remove it with a fitting replacement. And this will be the mississippi outpost area. The mine train track is being shipped as we speak! Unfortunately because the area is still very incomplete, so this is as far as we can go into the area.' We then went back into Mr. Tordales dining room and talked through the plans a little bit. I couldn't help but notice how much more complete the park looked. The foliage was denser, there were more pieces of scenery and more buildings. I can't wait to see it completed, however bald it may be now.
  21. Damn I secretly wished that all his hopes and expectations would make the trip really depressing as it would be no way near as good as he thought it would be after all the hype.. Anywho I'm glad you guys had a good time
  22. There are plenty of positives! For example, a big one, the park hasn't closed! Vampire is running with another train or 2 coming soon (hopefully)! The park has had some winter maintenance on some of it's facades. None of the rides were removed. Safari skyway is open. Ride(s) have even been rethemed over the winter. There is a new hotel which is pretty lush. I used to think there was a reason for websites like this being called fansites but it seems more like they should be called: hate-as-much-as-you-can-until-you-cause-more-positive-outlooking-members-serious-cases-of-depression-sites.
