    Slammer

I've been going thorpe for 6 years, and I've neevr been on slammer. I probably should though, because then I can go to America and go to six flags and be like 'Have you ridden a sky swat... have you? What about you.... Nah ah, didn't think so.'
  3. The initial plans from the flyer began in 2005/6, and actuall incorporated the african tower of black mamba. To be honest the designer must have been insane, because it would have taken up all the mine train space, or where Chiapas currently is. However, I also reckon that the flyer plans could have been an initial design for Black Mamba, or could be following through now. In the picture, I see a small crystal like tower with a pretzel loop coming out of the side of it. Seeing as it's a while since PHL has had a proper rollercoaster, maybe they'll be developing one now, knowing their history to take time on things (but that is of course accepted as they have huge, amazing extensive theming).
  4. My friend set the record on the day. Machine gun technique is amazing xD
  5. Yes! Thats the one, Cheers Bill!
  6. Does anyone remember the first question asked? My audio blanked out then. Its the only one missing from the first half hour, I'd like to add it in
  7. Chiapas looks great! That last drop is ridiculous. You must fly into that final splash! Have you guys heard phantasias next ride plan? They want to build a gigantic B&M flyer. In. The. Middle. Of. The. Park. Where is the space coming from?!
  8. Weren't they working? Maybe my memory is rubbish, but I thought I saw him .
  9. Well.. If its okay... (Don't want any infringements or arguements or anything, we all got on alright today...) Heres the group pic. I edited myself into it because I am socially unable to make good conversations at the start of meets.. So most of these guys didn't even know who I was until after it all xD. Heres the pic: lovely, right? Great day out guys, gonna try and upload the Q&A vid tonight. I'll be sure to come to another meet soon.
  10. Uh... Well... Uh... I think Smidge won the lift hill raffle, and it wasn't today. I think she also gets to choose when shes doing the walk, and what lift shes doing (Colossus, inferno or swarm). She got 2 tickets too.
  11. Well I recorded everything I was allowed to... But they wouldn't let us film in infernos work shop. Oh well! I believe most questions requested were asked by one person or another... I'll try and upload the videos tonight!
  12. haha! Go Han! Being at school still, Many schools have inset days (or teacher training days) around this time of year, so schools get a day off. Also, as said, yesterday was strike day. Private schools or religious schools have longer Easter holidays, so there may be that. Also, YR11 schooling ends in Late May, early June, so my year group will be heading thorpe quite frequently!
  13. During the summer from August through to October, at least when I went, it seemed to do the fire every 3 rounds.
  14. I'm recording everything... EVERYTHING.
  15. Wasn't that created at fright nights? Idk, but good point out. I'll have a look at it this weekend.
  16. This is where they store old ride cars and other objects. If you go in the summer, or do the lake walk, you'll see a bunch of rafts and metal board all the way along the back. I wouldn't know, but the lack of wooden coasters in the UK is disturbing. The nearest one to me is 300 miles away. Too far just to ride a woodie, thus, I have never been on one.
  17. I think its also the thought of a new coaster coming soon, and that because of the small attempt to attract a more broad audience they might be making a more 'family friendly' coaster. I don't know, and to be honest Idec.
  18. So I decided to do some research and came up with a couple theories: This is site 1. It sits just between saw and logger's leap's lake, and actually covers some of the railroad and loggers leap. This is site 2. It overlaps ever so slightly with the swarm, and I believe the island was developed during the development of the swarm. There have been some blueprints floating round recently of another B&M layout going on site 2. It is probably another wing rider, and it very compact, much like the swarm, however does not coil and turn in such small areas, in the same places, but rather moves freely in its space. The fact that in the plans and in several other pictures there are bridges connecting from the sunken garden and the swarm to the island, suggest some kind of development or planning is going on there. At site 1, there have been several storage tents in the area around the past couple years, and you can see them if you do the lake walk which passes down the back of the waterski area and thorpey. (You also get a great view of loggers leaps drop and nemesis and stealth, AND the swarm!) They clearly use the space, and seeing as there is plenty there as the railroad is disused, it is perfectly applicable to be home of a new rollercoaster. Something like some of the romoured plans for heide parks ride would be awesome: Or, even an RMC, which gives the opportunity for lap bars and inversions! There are also 2 small thin spaces in thorpe, including one of the car parks and down the border past site 2, spaces for possibly a hyper, or something of that kind, however I feel these 2 spaces are the ones most likely to home a ride because of their space and current activity.
  19. RMC woodie plx. Smooth, reliable, and efficient. Plus, inverting coasters with lap bar restraints and having wooden supports! It's like Merlins fear has been made up in a company! Anyway, these things look amazing. They can be compact, smooth and probably are one of the most versatile ride designs on the planet. One would fit nicely into the western area above saw. Idec I'd design their layout if they wanted me to XD
  20. Sorry to bump but I am so pumped for this. This'll be the first time I meet John or have a back stage tour of something, and it'll be cool to finally meet some of you guys properly. There were just a few details I missed when booking my tickets..: 1. When will the event start 2. How long will it be 3. How is the Q & A planned out. Cheers!
  21. You can take a friend right? (Who doesn't have an annual pass)
