  1. Soooo fast! This just proves that great coasters don't have to invert or be very tall. It looks truly incredible. (and the POV is also available on Phantasialand's YouTube page if anyone doesn't really understand Facebook, like me...)

    This Or That

    House music. Madrid or Berlin?
  3. ^That's if you count powered coasters as creds. Which I don't.

    Football

How about Roy Hodgson for Prime Minister and David Cameron for England manager? In all seriousness yesterday's performance was dire. Embarrassing. we looked so slow, tired, sluggish, sloppy, lazy with no sense of urgency. The performance genuinely reminded me of watching Barnet at the Hive. Humiliating. Well done Iceland though!
  5. When Cedar Point gets confused between Maverick and Woodstock express...!
  6. But I wanted a future in the EU and so did a third of the nation. Surely they can't just ignore us? And I feel like due to my age, I'm having less of a say in my future. This is different from general elections as that's every 5 years, this will last for a long time. I'm 14, so I don't suggest lowering the age to 14, but I do think 16 is a reasonable age. I wasn't annoyed about not being able to vote in the general election because I knew that in a few years time I would be able to vote for myself and that 5 years of something will not drastically alter my future. However, with the EU, I'll probably never get to vote on it. It's like my future has been decided by others and I've had absolutely no say in it. It's not like an election - things won't change and there's no changing your mind every 5 years. I think I'm just realising the importance of this situation - this situation which has completely ignored the youth of today and will effect us forever.
  7. Yes, @Han30 good advice there, and IAC's fast track is £6. Not sure about Storm Surge though. Also, dont miss out on some of the parks water rides. They don't get much attention but they're all great fun. Obviously no Loggers this year but at least there's Rumba which can be great fun. Storm Surge, whilst it is ugly, massive and short, it is quite a fun ride if the queue is short, which is a rarity. And, don't forget Tidal Wave, but then again it's hard to forget when you see that splash everywhere... (Oh, and this photo was taken from Depth Charge, another water ride)
  8. 1. £6 for big rides. £3 for smaller ones 2. Nemesis Inferno, Colossus and Stealth all have front row queues, the other coasters don't. 3. Yes 4. I'd go with Vortex, it's just very fun. (Single rider queue too) 5. The lost City and Saw tend to get huge queues, so I advice that area of the park. 6. Honestly that drop is really small and after lots of riding I've finally realised it's tinyness. The only thing that makes it frightening is the near misses prior to the drop. I'm sure you'll absolutely love the ride. Hope this helps!
  9. Well, I know your jealous that I'm going to Twinlakes and Crealy's this year. I've been wanting to visit those parks for such a long time now. They really look incredible.
  10. I honestly have been looking at this thread for a long time, wondering what to say, because I cannot put my anger into words. This feels like one of the lowest points in the UK's history... The pound is already falling... At least Haringey was strongly remain. Good old Catherine West.
  11. Ok, well at least Deep Impact had individual OTSRs so it's probably much more comfy than the versions you've been on.
  12. The first picture here is a post by scream seeker showing staff in a themed uniform - this uniform looks different to the other one, however. Is it just me or does this look like an underground style modern outfit as opposed to a Victorian one? It would be a lovely touch if the staff had different outfits! (The latter picture show the Iondon underground uniform)
  13. ^ I really like Miami rides. The one at my local fair is called Deep Impact. It's quite smooth, the restraints are nice and it even has Ripsaw-esque water effects.

    RMC

I've never been on an RMC - but I'd absolutely love to! They seem to be taking theme parks by storm and pioneering the future of roller coasters. I genuinely see one of these coming to TP as their next major investment. I believe it's the only way Thorpe could get a woodie that could be easily marketed.
  15. Saw: Also, Stella's revenge at Clacton pier was awful - but I believe that Steel Stella (which was in its place) was John Wardley's first coaster so I won't complain.
  16. There was some work being done on Containment today. A builder seemed to be trimming some planks of wood and then attaching them to a sign/entrance that he appeared to be making. Also, what is the cargo net in the final picture for?
  17. I also forgot to mention, that I asked a member of staff about opening (I know they aren't a trustworthy source so take this with a pinch of salt) and they told me that they aim to have it open in the next few days.
  18. Yes. Twas rehearsal day according to staff. So, I asked if I could ride it and they said... no. Anyway, I got the reaction from a man leaving the ride. I asked him how it was, he replied "It was good, yeeeeah, it was good." This was not the most enthusiastic of responses but then again, the very different reviews could just be due to people who want different things from rides. You cannot please everyone. (Here's a picture of the lucky ones in the queue)
  19. Fortunately, despite Arrow 'dying', there are now other companies producing their own variations of swinging suspenders. These include Vekoma's Dragonfly - whilst the seating position is different, it looks like a great way to improve the classics arrow suspended coaster.

    Football

My school showed the first half for KS3 in the main hall for those who wanted to watch it. However, due to the amount of buffering we only ended up watching about 10 mins of the first half. It was very frustrating. Due to the buffering, my school let us leave at half time, so I sprinted home and managed to see the entire first half. Anyway, after that win, I'm very optimistic about our chances. I actually feel like we may get somewhere this tournament.
  21. I'm on park tomorrow so I'll post some updates. I'm being very optimistic but I'm hoping for a soft open then too...

    Youtube Videos

Yes. I subscribe. I sometimes find his humour pretty hit and miss though. Some of his parodies are hilarious while others don't even make me giggle. His informative stuff is more to my taste as I like to see other people's opinions of Theme Parks.
  23. This is most bizarre. It was these 2 articles that sparked the anger of Phantasialand... ?
