  1. My thoughts exactly, I personally think it's a dreadful idea to make the headline attraction at Star Wars Land VR but that's another subject entirely. Ghost Train I feel will be looked after, or at least I hope. Thorpe has a bright future ahead of it so I look forward to see this attraction develop!
  2. Well it's certainly not going for a little while, with Disney's Millenuim Falcon attractions focusing around VR tech as well.
  3. Well I'm not going to outright say something am I, but if you just think of it logically if the ride were to simply just play a video, if another train was waiting in one block meaning your train would have to stay put for a little extra time, the video would begin to play segments that dont correlate to the movement of your specific train. If you can understand what I'm trying to say from that great - if not feel free to message me and I can explain it in more detail. My point being that the headsets and their computers are a little more complex than what people would like to believe!
  4. This shirt clip of one of the VR segment has appeared online!
  5. I do find it funny how people seem assume that this is simply a case of having a computer play a video through a VR headset. It's a lot more than that, and it's certainly understandable why the ride isn't at full capacity right now. The headsets being damaged and not looked already though - I can't defend them on that front, and I am quite dissapointed to hear this.
  6. It's hardly a Merlin only thing, it's a different ending to a maze used all over the world. Platform 15 I am hoping will have a unique and interesting finale.
  7. Ah I see, well if you feel it's unnecessary then I'm sure one of the TPM team would be happy to help with anything if you drop them a message
  8. I think he says it like that due to how you had previously expressed that you weren't sure if you could post it to then state everything in the other topic, no one is trying to start something you don't need to get defensive!
  9. I'm a bit confused why this topic is called hotel expansion as well seeing as we already know the Thoroe Park Hotel is now going ahead which will lead to the eventual removal of the Thorpe Shark Hotel anyway... In regards to them getting a wooden coaster, I can definitely see them getting an RMC once they can construct coasters longer than Colossus, however I don't see this happening if Alton's SW8 doesn't do well.
  10. I must admit that pre-show was dreadful. However, seeing as the container has been gutted I'm interested to see what scenes we will see this year...
  11. I wouldn't think riding a train (imagine the throughput!) but I could see a Field of 1000 Screams finale where you all board a train (a fake one) only to be chased out of it at the end maybe!
  12. Considering the attraction is believed to be on limited capacity, I'd say that it's doing ok! Yes, yes they have.
  13. The dolls are seen within the attraction according to some who rode early previews, however this may or may not be 100% true.
  14. Timed tickets are for wheelchair disabled while ambulant just wait as normal.
  15. I'd like to add nothing is really majorly 'spoilt' by the snapchat story. It shows a short clip of the pre-show, the exterior of the train, the two people sitting with headsets on while others scream around them and a brief moment of the section leading to the live action portion. This may be seen as a spoiler to those who are trying to cut themselves off 100%, but it doesn't give anything away! In regards to the ending, what Celia Mae says is correct, and not all 12 starting scenarios were on either
  16. Nice to see Derren is seeing the funny side of all the delays as well!
  17. An article from digital spy has been released, further confirming the attractions official opening date is the 8th of July 2016. Here are some images taken from the article! The 'Infection Check' photo point The pre-show room The live action portion VR screenshot
  18. I see what you mean now. I don't even think it's the tech as such, but possibly the way Figment have made the VR? The VR does seem to have some quite random effects, I know that quite a few people have thought this was an issue with Figments creation style...
  19. I don't quite understand how the VR is "so unrealistic it's laughable" when it was filmed with real people? Unless you're basing you're entire opinion off the second VR section I can't really understand where you're coming from, maybe you got a dodgy headset perhaps?
  20. According to the Evening Standard, the attraction officially opens tomorrow. The ride sign has also been changed to "DEPARTIBG SOON". http://www.standard.co.uk/goingout/attractions/derren-brown-promises-virtual-reality-ghost-train-will-give-fans-ride-of-their-life-a3290111.html
  21. There is supposedly 3 trains with only two currently in operation - although the legitimacy of this information is questionable. However I believe that it does work in the rectangular/loop motion people are staying.
  22. Thank god! I may have a chance to get on it...
  23. The resort have been saying that the attraction is open on their social media pages over the weekend, however stating it will be 'subject to avalibility' Fingers crossed it opens! EDIT Unfortuntely it looks unlikely to open this week at all, with the social team stating the attraction will not be in operation over the next week.
  24. Their social media accounts are ademant that it will not be in operation - however the resort may change their mind at any point during the day
  25. There are no technical rehearsals today.
