I also think its a case that it has loads of people visiting year on year, even without investment.. which makes it seem like.. no point.Apparently it was 4k - and all us chessie people know that they struggle to get 4k on offpeak days during the actual open season. So thats wonderful for them!

Alton Towers Trip Reports
James get a rep due to his funny report. Damn that haunted hallow.

Closed Season
Yes but once the rides are continually safe (which, in merlin, they are). Then they need to concentrate on other stuff

Spinball is bound to get a higher throughput - longer station, more cars, less chance of stacking before being dispatched. It's a case of oblivion, the more shuttles on the system, the higher the throughput, regardless that they all stack up behind station! As for DIC comment, don't give them so much credit. It was charterhouse through and through. DIC came in during 05 season after they opened.. and DIC installed almost ****all in all parks, apart from stuff already budgetted for.

Too quiet most days. I'd imagine it'd appear back, maybe via the disabled entrance or current exit so they skip entire queue.

Nice post. Only one thing to add - dual opping was a regular occurance in 2000s as well. It's always happened to the park.It is interesting how they treat the staff.. the end of season party seems the most silly thing to remove due to cuts - its there primarily to ensure a high returning rate next year cos it rubs off on them.Towers had budget cuts on pretty much entertainments only. It's unique that it has a welfare officer, ensuring benefits like the end of season party doesn't get removed - and the morning games remain!

It'd just be nice to properly do the brand strengthening. Two of my biggest bugbears last year were the toilets being old style, and sealife having old style logos everywhere.Well, they're doing the toilets and hopefully removing all the old signage with it... but the lack of sealife change is just annoying!

Bugger. That's the only time I was planning on visiting the forum and website tomorrow. In all seriousness, I mean it. Nah, good work Ian. I want you to be the inferno op again, cos announcements wouldn't matter anymore

Parks, Rides And Coaster News
Easier to tap into the exterior expertise - particularly on some things. Merlin love outside companies, they use loads of companies on PR, advertising, branding.. everything to make the places integral and stick to their routes - the companies themselves often need some help (it's the whole private equity way!)

Guest Services And Ride Access Passes
Didn't realise thorpe only had particular rides on their list - now thats interesting. As for the other parks, as far as I know (for it may have changed since).Legoland - is purely for those with autism or mental health issues, so that they'd disrupt other guests in the queue. All queues are designed to take wheelchairs, so they do not get passes. The very few which cannot accomodate wheelchairs can use the exit! Though, like all systems, needs to be looked at.Chessington - had a timed based system so you couldn't ride another ride until that time. However that was only for main rides, any other they could just join it.Alton Towers - just has wristbands, each ride has an hour (or current queue time) to it, so they shouldn't be able to just reuse instantly, but can go on any ride. It's up to each individual park, and how they cope with the systems tbf. I think they should be there to improve peoples days, particularly if a queue has not been designed to be wheelchair friendly. But, it park adjusts it and tries to make it work, so hey ho!
