  1. LOL I literally just clicked on here to mention that I am still very much straight. Oh wells
  2. Never looked at a trains website before catching one then?
  3. Oh arse I got it a quid out. Said like for a reason
  4. Single riders is a waste of effort and I can see why they don't have it on there. Not only does their batching system not really work for single riders, nor does the queueline have space for them, but also the guests who try and use it pretty much always try and blag, or try to deliberately push into the main queueline. It's just not worth the hassle at all, as it slows down the entire loading system. Wish some other places didn't have it either
  5. Return tomorrow is £5, return any day is like £14
  6. Went chessie yesterday. Overall good visit.Vampire looks good, though they need to keep on top of the lights.. they look a bit faded already over organist, just keep replacing the gels and its all good. Music still booming, and the ride actually has staff on offpeak periods now, amazing! The lowlight was tomb blaster, 20mins it took to ride, from the tv/mirrored effect point. Extremely stupid, and why on earth after all these improvements around park was tomb run with only three trains, with a poor loading system and an operator which insisted on sending the train once it hits photo area. Bloody rediculous. Oh, and someone has gone MAD with the UV lighting so the entire building it is in is lit up. Major, MAJOR leak for a park which is now seemingly more caring about these things (like falls crap wall).Really did enjoy the visit though, I love the place so much and its very close to looking extremely top form. Just needs some improvements to get rid of the leaks in the themes and its on its way to being almost perfect!
  7. Theming comes under another budget, and anything can be put under the special budgets. It's literally a case of whether the directors care enough to bother. Someone just needs to put a case study to them, how it'd improve stuff and all that to justify the expenditure and woo, done.
  8. Hmm, the whole maintenance thing is nothing though. It doesn't cost them that much, it comes out of an already pre-agreed maintenance budget, or a special budget. The parks make millions a year each, so you can't argue that spending on general upkeep of the actual hardware is reason enough not to upkeep theming and stuff. Thank god towers don't think like this.
  9. I remember that stuff vividly, was so good in the building.. I remember hearing the jigsaw speak, him finish.. a big BOOM and ambient track. Giving shivers down your spine when the place was dead
  10. Get a hoover on them, and test them out.. may sound good as new againish!
  11. Now is definitely a good time to go there, no queues for anything. Apart from they're all shut. Hmmm...
  12. Hmm the park arguement is an interesting one.I think, personally, that they're run much better and the parks are in a far better state than they were in tussauds years.Think about it, every single merlin brand (well, I cant remember about dungeons, but we'll ignore them for a second) has gone a complete rebranding.. going towards what they do best and succeeding in that field and making themselves look pretty as well.Alton Towers has one of the best entertainment lineup ever, its a shame that their budget has been slashed dramatically, but even still.. the amount of costume characters continually on park, especially in the morning rush is pretty cool. Finally, the whole coaster things.. the thing the parks include nowadays is marketing, paving, design and all that. £15 million includes thirteens like £3million or so marketing budget. The ride itself costs barely any of the overall cost.
  13. I was thinking about this at work the other day as well.. quite sad I know. The only way SRQ works well is if it leads to batching areas, however depending on the layout/position of these things it can be open to abuse. I'm sure the hassle with ensuring the guests trying to use single riders as it meant to be isn't worth the hassle alone really. It's just quicker and allows more people on a ride to not have single riders where it takes so much time arguing against these people, or trying to fill the empty seats ala inferno was.Rush did originally have SRQ, but was replaced with fastrack. The ride should have neither imo!

Considering their competitors are mainly other uk parks, because they dont have the abroad appeal.. then they do pretty damn good. It's not like any of the areas are shockingly bad either.
  15. Lodge is north carpark, so the one with the hotel!
  16. Yeah its got technical difficulties
  17. You're gay? Bloody hell, didn't see that one coming!
  18. Gah its difficult, I haven't gotten any photos but its very grand inside. Like as it actually is, a mansion.. its very well kitted out. Compare it to something like alton towers conference centre.
  19. Ahh right, well I'd still have to blame you as that word filter probably wouldn't exist otherwise
  20. Stop putting stupid apostrophies in Chessington, it doesn't have one and doesn't need one unless you're a grammatical boob.Maybe its stuff like "no smoking in the Chessington Resort" or something like that.
  21. I wanna see this. I've read "Chessington Resort" written a few times now, however the tellies have always only shown the new chessie logo?
  22. Sanitaire is only dangerous if you eat it, or breathe it in in large quantities.Sick should never take too long, sanitaire itself only takes around 5mins, however a bucket and disinfectant (ala, where I currently work), is a far more effective way of working.
  23. Half the time I think they completely make up that queuetime, there is no chance that the queue had around 1500 people in it to create that queuetime, the queue itself only holds around 800 lol
