  1. Staff are screwed anyway - those that work on air almost entirely just work on air, for example. In other news, towersstreet have found the monorail audio: http://www.soundsfishy.tv/alton-towers-resort-audio-video/ Listening to it here, really does remind me how inappropriate it is to setting a theme and creating a first impression. I'm glad the DVD on towers street side is screwed, the old theme is so much more suited.
  2. He's talking about this year (2012) compared to last year. Figures were awful at beginning of the year, but I believe on same level, if not up, from last year now.

Oops, wrong word. I meant wet/cold days.
  4. Nemesis is open from 9, as always... The reasons they've cut them is due to the most amount of staffing. Literally it. We'll see the guest feedback first, before seeing if they'll make any adjustments to this - skyride cut lasted 3 days purely down to guest feedback. Enterprise and Submission were open for all due to guest feedback.TowersTimes do have a say in this as they voice it first. The parks attendance figures aren't overall shocking, they just are trying to hold onto the same profit margins. It's not good when there's already queues, sometimes amounting to a couple of hundred people, outside of these biggest two rides before 10am - even on the quiet days. It just looks bad - especially when one of those is their newest coaster.

If they are running the same cycle - Ripsaw spins 4-5 times in a row, and is faster. Fact. Ripsaws water depends on the weather - they're not allowed to wet you on cold/wet days. Last year the fountains were lowered so they could never reach, this year they're higher than they've been for years.
  6. Air and thirteen is very irritating. Air they could just open one station and staff for two later in the day. But nooo.
  7. People have mentioned that once one things overturned, another thing has to give.. Air, Thirteen, Skyride and Duel open from 11am everyday from monday.

The announcements actually tell you to pull down the shoulder harness to rest on your shoulders.

Budgets do not extend enough for them to do their ordinary evacuation practice out of park opening hours? ....wow.

Best video ever. A chance of getting wet on a ride which usually gives you zero wetness. Interesting.
  11. Totally doesn't make sense to me really. The ride itself is fine, and the ride won't get queues so doesn't need to use the upstairs bit.

TowersTimes has gone mental, and all the site people have left. **** has gone down. Wow, this is better than corrie.

You do come across staff who make up silly reasons as to why its shut, its mainly because they're bored of saying technical difficulties - as thats ALL that they'd tell you anyway. I've heard some decent ones before, to do with the nemesis monster etc.

Helps me get laid? That'd be nice..

I just have to properly brace myself for that first lethal corner. It's horrible. After that, its kinda boring.. but at least I've saved hurting myself, which can only lighten up one's mood.
  16. Oh god, thats disturbing..

The idea is to reduce queue times for individuals, and if single riders reduced that persons own queueing time, then it goes towards the KPI. Though I don't think they had any place at thorpe. The place isn't designed for it.

Swarm is absolutely beautiful - I just loved how I went with practically the non-geekiest people ever, and all they were going on about was how amazing the turn from the lift was, and how smooth and gorgeous the thing is. It's like air, but a million times better.. . I adore the swarm.

They had to do something though, they cannot just ignore incidents otherwise they're negligent.
  20. That was actually one of the most boring videos I've ever watched. Actually beats the Nemesis dye video.
  21. Multiple investments? Mate you have years of nothing happening!
  22. Mmmm cracking gromit
  23. No, that's not the music played in the area whatsoever. It was a recent change. It doesn't fit with the area at all - it sounds more suited to Mexicana. The change was brought in to lighten peoples moods, apparently the halloween version depresses people somehow. Vampire entrance area used to have a modified vampire theme playing. Alas, it does no more.
  24. That's the main thing I dislike about the improvement - is that they've vastly reduced the attractions lifetime.. it's become heavily dependant on having high numbers of staff. What will happen after this season or in a few seasons time when this attraction will be as quiet as hex? It'll become a shadow of its former self.

Isn't that just the case of being able to send with lapbars open rather than them failing? X lapbars are never tight anyway, always loose and flimsy on me.
