It's not particularly daft - if the ride has any hope of opening, they'll have staff there. They won't move them to other rides, which may already be properly staffed, or the staff themselves are not trained on. It gives enough people to ensure that every guest is spoken to who approaches them, and ensures no guests goes into that area. Means that once a ride is available, they have the staff to do their checks and reopen as soon as possible, rather than having to try and find them, ensure that they can be taken off (they could be covering someones break), ensure the break pattern for that ride is correct, that you have appropriate staffing levels for them to run etc. Presentation wise - there is not much they can do whilst rides down during the day. Clean trains (but that'll be in engineering, so that's a no go). Litterpick queueline (but that'll be done already). Other things they won't be trained on, or have specific depts - like Landscape, Park Presentations (or whatever they call their cleaners). They'll be busy elsewhere. It might look a bit messy to the outsiders, but it is the easiest, simplest, and best way of going about things. Plus, it's not like the staff cost them a lot anyway.

They're there for staffing of the ride, that's it. If you hate the idea of 5-6 staff members outside Stealth, you'll be physically sick to see 9-11 Air staff members creating a human wall outside the Air shop when that's down.

I also cant see that they've made any improvements, probably just literally fixed and maybe returned previous lighting from Terror Tomb etc.

He's alive and working! He doesn't seem to post much when he works. I'm sure he'll love that you thought of him though
  5. Was totally the daisy train.
  6. Originally designed so the main entrance played inferno theme, along with the volcano I believe. Rest of queue played bird tweeting. Station was quiet apart from dispatches, where theme played.

Where's the Air bear? Flown off somewhere? Or rita bear for that matter.. unless you launched him across the room before the photo.
  8. Fred replied to Phill's topic in Nonsense
Two vampire XXI bears? Greedy git.
  9. You're moaning about Nemesis inferno having its soundtrack almost running exactly as it was designed to be?! (minus the dispatch theme ).

Rant topic is boring, thats my rant. Why repeat the same cliquey boring bitchyness to each other. Grow the **** up. RSPCA are **** anyway - they literally do nothing.
  11. You can buy individual ones, from Box Office or sales and info. Prices are between £3-£5 each.
  12. Why do things have to benefit people? Idiots.
  13. Definitely prefer towards the back. Nothing more than outstanding seeing the train infront of you just swerve round at the top of the lift. As for left or right, I'm unsure. Think I prefer left for the top of the lift, but right for most of the track. Outside seat is a definite for any place though.

Would be nice to see investment in the park itself - it surprises people when they hear that Colossus is the same age as Air. Lego got investment parkwide this winter, and everything feels so fresh and new again. However, rides are the reason people visit, and ride investment must go on (as long as its not to the style of storm surge!)

These DVD concepts really don't happen to work very well, do they?

All coasters sheer bolts throughout their lifetime - even if they've only just been put in. It's literally nothing to worry about.
  17. Fred replied to Artie's topic in The Past
They still mention it at the entrance - which to be fair, is the only place they should really display it. Not like it's a massive ride, anyone looking for it on website will see that information as well.

No time/budget to do it. Literally that'll be it. Nemesis track used to be painted every winter when it first opened!
  19. Air

Fred replied to Dan9's topic in UK Attractions
Air is always considered tamer, and a more family ride than anything. Families will happily go on air, whereas will poo themselves at going on Nemesis or Oblivion. Air is a poor ride I think, it's bland and doesn't really... do much. Guests love it cos it builds you up to the next level I think..
  20. Looking back at when it first opened, then looking at the marketing... My god, it fits so well. I adore Sub Terra <3.

Boiler House has died a death and it will not be returning, thank god. Carnival Remains, as is TOTT, and presumably a new maze. I agree with Pluk though, I adore the length of TOTT.. it's bloody amazing.

Wooo Batman is so amazingly amazing. Cannot wait to watch it again on Tuesday #geek.
  23. Fred replied to JackR's topic in The Past
Towers aren't having one of thorpes mazes. There's potential to have (and might happen) two mazes in the towers this year. Shorten TOTT, and have the other one upstairs.. God knows anything else beyond that though.
  24. Ohh I didn't realise that option was there for public transport visitors. Shall definitely look further into this now, thanks.

Oh my days. Totally didn't realise Steam allowed you to download games you own on different computers. Bring on Train Simulator 2! Wooooo!
