They're also cancelling the rest of Saturday night TV apart from X Factor. All we'll ever see on TV again on Saturday for the rest of time is X-Factor. So there's our answer, WC16 is X Factor the ride. In fact, 2.8 million more people watched Doctor Who on Saturday night then visited Thorpe Park in the whole of 2014. So Thorpe's closing as well. CANCEL ALL THE THINGS.

Every thrill seeker has a family but not every family is thrill seeking. Thorpe have really struggled in recent years because they aimed the park so severely at a target audience with little money to spend. Chessington's falling apart at the seams but it continues to bring in the big bucks. Legoland, Paultons, Phantasialand and Europa Park are good examples of parks that keep every member of the family amused and they continue to have runaway success. Thorpe fanboys in particular need to get away from this concept that thrill seeking rides are what bring people in because time and time again this idea proves wrong and eventually wears thin.

I had a dream that Scorpion Express was on two train operation, except one train was a South Eastern rail four carriage train that offered a family friendly version of the ride. The ride was also extended around the backstage area of Chessington due to the new late night firework display that happened every night outside the hotel. So instead, the new version of Scorpion took you on a tour of some train sidings until it reconnected with the ride as it is now. The night before, Running Down that hill by Kate Bush came on as an alarm but I was so desperate to stay asleep I started dancing to it in my dream.

Read Wardley's book, The Smiler was confirmed as a 14 looper really late in the game, it was marketed solely on its logo and brand for a long time and that got people talking. If it helps Coaster Jamie, they aren't very good at getting you to spend lots of money if you spend most of your day in a 40 minute queue because of one train operations all over the place.

This topic.

It's joyous isn't it, not knowing something. Nearly everytime the spoilers are left right and centre but Merlin have been pretty good at keeping things secret until they're ready to announce.
-
That's pretty much what Series 8 was about.

One can't deny that less trains are sent per hour. That's undeniable. It just takes longer to get through people who are stuck in queue lines. The staff thing has always amused me though, as if they haven't cut the staff budgets to shreds already. Then again, I remember Merlin pulling the one attendant on Vampire trick back in the day.

Its a crap excuse anyway, they save very little money operationally by running one train rather then two. Engineers are still there, a train still has to go up the lift hill the same amount of times whether there's a 5 minute queue or a 45 minute queue. The only difference is how much they are willing to force to people to wait for the rides.

Unsurprising really. That last weekend in particular was always dead as anything.

Fine, lets remember that Chiapas doesn't even try to be a dark/water ride hybrid and is a pure water ride. Ah Chiapas.

Take your own advice and don't judge a ride until you've done it.

Did they ride anything else...

Good question. The rides are definitely awesome at night, they take on a different personality depending on how lit up with spot lighting they are. For instance, Inferno has very little lighting around it so it's like zooming around in complete darkness and is disorienting and awesome in equal measure. Colossus is lit up like a christmas tree so isn't all that different from the day. Stealth is particularly awesome from the top as you get the briefest view of a green lit Thorpe. The Swarm is also awesome especially when the fire effect goes off. Majority of rides stay open during Fright Nights, only rides like Loggers close down for the night. It's worth a visit. Someone else will be able to answer your maze questions as I'm not particularly interested in them.

With the way they are running it they only need four cars in operation.
-
Christ. That 350 throughput is going to be more like 100 if that's what they are doing. Used to be as soon as the car had cleared the lift hill, you could send another.
-
They've never pretended otherwise. It's an amusement park, not a theme park.
-
I like it. Fits the bill for a Cedar Fair park and I really like the colour orange so extra points from me.

You mean, things that bring people into the park? What lunacy are they playing at...

I almost fell asleep on the s bends on Cheetah Hunt but the s bend type sections on Juvelen were beyond awesome.

I know who I'd like to have as a mod, not because she's a female but because she contributes to our community. Who would you like to see?
