Posted June 11, 200817 yr comment_28365 Corkscrew, in my opinion is still the 4th best Rollercoaster at Alton Towers, it provides 2 great inversions and is plenty of fun for all the family. Although it can band your head a little!9/10
June 11, 200817 yr comment_28377 When I went on it I didnt see what the fuss is all about. I didnt get that bumped about and I actully really enjoyed my ride. Back seat on the first drop is AMAZING! Airtime city
June 11, 200817 yr comment_28383 I don't really like this ride, it just hurts, maybe it was because I was on the front ?
June 11, 200817 yr Author comment_28410 I don't really like this ride, it just hurts, maybe it was because I was on the front ?Yes Corkscrew's like Colossus's Opposite. Sit at the back for a smooth fast and great ride but the closer to the front you get the slower ands more painful it is
June 20, 200817 yr comment_28808 Corkscrew is a really rough coaster, The first drop has some decent airtime but after that it's all headbanging. It's a shame though, Because it has quite a fun layout and without the headbanging it'd be great fun.
July 13, 200817 yr comment_29480 Anyone seen this from Towers Almanac?Shocking. :)A new coaster for Ugland in 2010? First I've heard of it.
July 18, 200817 yr comment_29790 it was on 10 years younger... v. funny!!when I went on it, I was fron seat, it was awfully painful and rough, I really didn't enjoy it :'(but I suppose for history's sake, its a great ride.
July 18, 200817 yr comment_29802 I love this ride. It's my second favorite after Nemesis. If it does go, I want to be on the last ever ride, and take some memory back with me, like a spare part or something, to go with the peice of PMBO track in my back garden.First the Beast, then the Black Hole, why not get rid of the tacky rides like Oblivion And Rita?
July 30, 200817 yr Author comment_30202 why not get rid of the tacky rides like Oblivion And Rita?Rita's tacky- Oblivion just needs a fresh lick of paint
July 31, 200817 yr comment_30273 Sorry to go off topic, but I'll explain. When they reprofiled the first drop on the Big One my mate managed to get this peice of track off the guys doing the work. In the end he ran out of room to store it, so he gave it to me for a few quid and I just had to go to London to get it.It's now in my back garden, and makes a comfy seat.
August 1, 200817 yr comment_30277 it GOING at the end of this year THANK GOOD ITS JUST 1 BIG headache
August 1, 200817 yr comment_30278 Anyone seen this from Towers Almanac?Shocking. :)A new coaster for Ugland in 2010? First I've heard of it.YES THERE IS
August 3, 200817 yr Author comment_30325 Corkscrew may not be going, it's just a rumourCorkscrew is a great coaster I don't see why people want it to go- The back row is truly fantastic
August 4, 200817 yr comment_30354 I don't see the big problem with Corkscrew; I think it's more the fact that people want it to go.It's still a good old coaster, even if a little 'bumpy'.
August 4, 200817 yr comment_30390 It's the only coaster Ive been on that its supports are not underground, but on a frame.
August 4, 200817 yr comment_30397 Have you been on Rattlesnake or the Runaway Train at Chessington?Yes, lots!*remembers*Oh yes, they're on frames too!
October 2, 200816 yr comment_34511 http://www.altontowers.com/pages/theme-par...o-the-corkscrewI'm really quite sad about this, Sure, it's painful and rough as hell but I appreciate what it has done for Alton Towers and the UK theme park industry.R.I.P Corky 1980 - 2008
October 2, 200816 yr comment_34523 Corkscrew is a classic, It was the first looped ride I went on. It is definately painfull and no way as good as Nemesis or Oblivion but it will be missed. The good thing I heard though was that they are going to keep one of the corkscrews in rememberence!!We'll Miss Ya Corky
October 2, 200816 yr comment_34534 We sure will... I dont get it! Corkscrew is the MAIN attraction in Ug-Land, wtf are they doing taking it away???
