Theme Park bloke
I HATE THIS RIDE it gives me too many panic atacks because I cant breath and its just very uncomfortable for me tbh I think it should go its a bit of a waste of space if you ask meIt gives you panic attacks and it's a waste of space. Right, deicision made, Detty shall go.*sigh*

Gareth
Love the ride - one of the best. Its adrenalin rush is second to none, and I love how the queue build up the suspense as it creeps around the tower. But it's the space next to it which gets on my nerves... Just fill it with another powered launch TP!! Would be great IMO.

Sidders
I think it's stupid when they've got bollards blocking possible fire-truck routes, but a Launched Drop Tower? Oh deary moi.

TRGeorge
I agree with Gareth - a launch tower would IN MY OPINION be better than Detty. I always hate creeping up the tower!
Gareth
I always hate creeping up the tower!:S Kk, anyway, what else could go there? The station for flyer over Rapids? Not really enough room...

Have two towers!
Sidders
Launch Towers need to be fairly tall (130ft-ish) to work well. Which isn't possible due to planning permission, and would over-shadow Detonator.

I always hate creeping up the tower!Creeping up the tower is the best part, In fact I would love it if it was 200ft and went up really slowly and u stayed up there for 20secs. now THAT would be a scary Detonator I Do love Detty though. That's why Detty is so unique, it's one the most intense drop towers, but also one of the smallest.
Sidders
When I went on Hurakan back in 2007, I felt the drop went on for to long aswell, it took about 10 seconds to fall to the ground, so by the end I was like, head resting on my hands with my hair being blown all over the place. Bit boring really. Detonator tops any drop-ride I've been on.
D4n
Detonator is a great ride, I prefer it to Apocalypse (even stand-up), it's one of my favourite rides to go on at night (during Fright Nights) too because of the humpty dumpty countdown. James
Yes I prefer Detonator to Apocalypse too, I only did the stand-up one on Apocalypse and it still wasn't as forceful as Detonator. It's great how a rides soundtrack can change somebodys opinion on a ride. Apocalypses tension seemed to be created by the whole ride, station and area having an industrial / run down theme to it (although that could just be Drayon's bad maintainence ), Thorpe achieved that tension on Detonator just by having 4 speakers at the top. Theme Park bloke
I don't go on Detonator often, but the only thing I wish they'd change on it is the music back to the original soundtrack. I listen to the music on my computer sometimes and smile, and then hear it at Thorpe Park and think "Crap".
James
Yeah it is slightly odd. I love the 2007 soundtrack (not keen on the 2008 one, it sounds too remixy), but it's just not great at the park. The ticking made it more fearful for me than the countdown cos you didn't know when you were gonna drop with the ticking, but hey, thats just how it goes. Paul
The new theme is ok but it doesn't really fit the "calypso" style as much as the old theme did. Also, they kept the original countdown and just pasted it into the new soundtrack. It doesn't really work, whereas the old theme fitted nicely with the countdown. But I do think the voiceover, ("Hold On Tight, And Prepare For Detonation!"), is better than the original voice.
Theme Park bloke
On the original track, isn't it Davina?
Paul
I have no idea, I just think that the 2008 voiceover is more intense and makes the ride more exciting at the start
