Without shops in my town centre I wouldn't be wearing clothes.. do you really think clothes in Vogue are aimed at me? Will is the only tranny here (anyone at the Dungeons meet will know what I mean ), and clothes is pretty much the bottom of my list of things that important in life. They want their products to be sold to the public, and to have fashionable clothes on offer, would mean a greater profit. Who decides what is fashionable? Forecasters. Who do they tell? High-End Labels. Where do they present their produce? The Catwalk. And it is from there where the highstreet brands and the magazines look at.eg: Prada @ Autumn/Winter 2008 - They presented lace in a gothy way, and used very elegant, traditional, black lace. Days later, this and more, such as Gareth Pugh's 'Uber-Goth' style, were seen in Vogue, Style, ELLE and more. Only weeks later, did the Goth-Chic style appear radically instore of most notable high-street stores. The same happened with Checks, radically, and military a couple of seasons back.I also agree with how generic River Island looks. While trappers are kinda kooky, they, much like Ray-Bans, have been overworn. I always internally laugh out loud when I walk past a River Island Card Holder... {You can tell, with the over done, everything XDDD eg. waistcoat, pinstripe shirt, parker, trapper + oversized beanie [wth?!?], workers jeans, skinny tie, patent white leather trainers, and chunky watch.For me, clothes are kinda important. Like, those buffalo check shirts which were all over Primark recently - those came from the checks trend/lumberjack trend.The high-end labels control all. There is no escape.
