Benin
Leaks from a Cast Member meeting of some form have appeared in regards to the 10 refurbs taking place between now and 2017... http://ed92.forumactif.org/t1675-cast-member-forum-presentation-aux-cast-members#26210 2017 is certainly looking to be a great anniversary for the park should all these things come to fruition... Matt 236
Sounds a fantastic list of park updates, hopefully the park will retain its appearance from its golden early days and look good as new again. I wonder when we will see Midway Mania arrive at WDS?

Benin
I remember trying to book Parc Asterix tickets many years ago, and there was a massive price difference between the online prices based upon what language you choosed... The English site was at least €5 more expensive than the French site... It was very dodgy, but then, it's the French, so what else do we expect? It's the same with Florida too, it's far cheaper to book trips through the American site then the English one.
Matt 236
I was sort of aware of this, I do remember Peaj telling me they'd blocked the discount t site or something for English customers so it doesn't surprise me much. Day tickets are overpriced anyway there which is why I bought an annual pass when I visited (buy the fantasy one as the one below is useless) which thanks to the guys I went with already having one I paid a bit less than the main price which I think is €180 now (it's cheaper to get a pass than doing 3 day tickets). Still think it's unfair the parks doing this but just shows us where we stand with the French Glitch

Matt 236
Today is the day many DLP fans have been waiting and/or dreading to happen. And this will be the site of Big Thunder Mountain now for the next 13 months. Source- Inside DLP Lots more work is taking place too. Some light at the end of the tunnel remains however. It's certainly going to be a long year and a half with all these refurbishments at DLP and so many areas closed, and that's before Peter Pan, Star Tours, Rock N Rollercoaster plus Asvebture Isle, Cabane De Robinson, Animagicue & Tram Tour (who cares) close up. I have no plans to do DLP next year but I'm sure the place will look fantastic when 2017 arrives.
Benin
And Space Mountain's second phase of the refurb... For all of the burden it will cause, sure it will be worth it, BTM's been BEGGING for work to be done to it for years...
Mark9
I've had several visits where some days have had Space Mountain and Thunder Mountain closed. Still enjoyed my visits though. Thunder Mountain desperately needs this refurb, it's been a long time coming.
TraX
Small World already looks brighter, they're not even complete yet! For me the biggest surprise is that Peter Pan's Flight isn't getting any of the updates the U.S. ones have. Seems a shame.

Matt 236
Park is going to remain closed until (and including) Tuesday the 17th. Source- Inside DLP. Very understandable during this difficult time and respectful to an extent too. Paris will be tense place to be and may well take months before it reaches the vibes the city had until this year. The Sleeping Beauty castle is also showing it's respect to last nights tragedy too.
SteveJ
No it won't take years to recover from a terrorist attack unless everyone in the entire city is extremely weak willed and just give up, which they obviously aren't going to do. pognoi
coastercameron98
Potential crisis averted... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-35431086 All these recent attempts of attacks are just getting ludicrous now...
Mark9
Bye Bye original Star Tours. (Pic from InsideDLParis) https://www.facebook.com/InsideDLParis
Matt 236
This marks the end of a long era. Not just for the Paris Star Tours, but all of them as this was the last original one left. I feel very glad to have gotten a few rides on the original whilst it last. I am sure the new one will be fab though as I've heard good things about the state ones [which I am yet to experience]. Star Tours closure brings up the closed rides at DLRP currently to 12, including BTM, RNRC, Adventure Isle and Peter Pans Flight. Definitely not the year to visit DLRP [unless your a big fan or pass holder], but still better than Towers somewhat.

gabbygrace
am I right in thinking that all these refurbs are in preperation for the 25th Birthday? so we can expect them to all be done before april (except Pirates)....
Matt 236
am I right in thinking that all these refurbs are in preperation for the 25th Birthday? so we can expect them to all be done before april (except Pirates)....This is all correct. As the park was getting in to a worn state (for Disney standards), management realised how bad it had become and have decided to do an extensive resort refurbishment to bring the standard back up to how the park was in its early years (once described as the most picturesque Disney resort). In brief: Big Thunder Mountain is closed until December 2016 Rock N Roller Coaster is closed until June 2016 Peter Pan's Flight is closed until July 2016 Adventure Isle & Cabane De Robinson are closed until around August 2016 Star Tours is closed until March 2017 (where it'll become the Adventure Continues mk2) POTC is expected to close around February for a six month refurb plus Space Mountain is expected to close again and gain new trains as well. More information is availible here for the closures http://www.disneylandparis.co.uk/calendars/park-hours/

Matt 236
Unfortunately 2016 isn't really the best year to do DLRP due to the closures and refurbishments. This also includes shops. Restaurants and themed areas too. If you're looking to go when it's less busy, I would go for either mid/late April- late May or Mid September until Mid October. Avoid public holidays as the park will probably be busy (as a good chunk of guests are from the UK). Ride availability wise either Junly or December. Park will probably be busy at these times but Rock N Roller & Peter Pan reopen for summer and Thunder Mountain reopens December along with Molly Brown. Matt 236
A worker for DLRP died today whilst doing some work on the Phantom Manor ride (of all places). Source http://www.looopings.nl/weblog/5229/Medewerker-Disneyland-Paris-dood-aangetroffen-in-spookhuis-Phantom-Manor.html The ride has remained closed today. Why is it always the Paris one where we are hearing of these tragic staff deaths?
Benin
The other Disney parks have had the odd incident too, Primeval Whirl comes to mind... Unless it was similar to the chef, then it sounds like a sad accident rather than DLP making staff suicidal...
