All about reading 8 Wins in a row, the royals are going up!**Maybe
  2. They were tipping them when I was last there on sunday too, they are tipped less often than they were on AP day though
  3. Yes they are when they need doing. And dan my bad, id say its much quicker to tip them, the hover would need them to dismantle the boats, hover out and put them back togeather, tipping is a simple tip over and put the bits back in.
  4. Err... Their own convenience? You do realise that the longer they spend hovering boats the longer the queue would not move... So id say the quickest soloution is in the intrest of the guests just as much as the staff..
  5. Its probably been worked out its just as quick to tip the boat..
  6. Whilst your right, they are also things which if they never came back no one other than enthusiasts would notice / care so isee no problem in prasing the efforts..Park musics generally pretty goood this year, theyve spent a lot of new speakers etc around the park and the vast majority works pretty well now
  7. The effects were put back into sync around half way though last year, granted they did spend the back end of 09 / start of 10 out of sync. I think the inside blades are the only bit I saw not working, but worked the vast majority of my rides

    SAW: Alive

http://www.thorpeparkmania.co.uk/news/08-04-2011/Saw-Alive-FireA press release from Thorpe Park here
  9. All the theming works the vast majority of the time, I can only think of the very odd occasion when one part of themings not working.. Agree, but IMO the ride does the talking on this one so it dont really need it unlike others..
  10. Tidals now playing its own loop again
  11. Ill go to the meal / meet but probably wont stay at hotel.
  12. Project Name: LC12Manufacturer: Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M)Height: 38.6m / 127ftInversions: 4Investment: £20m Trains x seats: 2 x 28 seatsLength of track: approx. 775metresSome LC12 facts, confirms it will run 2 trains too.
  13. These guns are run by HB Leisure (not Thorpe Park)Loggers ones seemed to be working when I went on Sunday.
  14. I visited CWOA on Open day also, I must say I had quite a good day..There are some parts of the park looking run down / tatty such as queue line fences, and small things like wires hanging out the backs of speakers in queue lines which is not somthing you would expect on first day of season I guess. Also disapointingly had my new annual pass capsule stolen from rattlesnake too, maybe I'm just lucky but I find it qutie intresting that after a year of having one at the "chavy" park for over a year with no problems, one visit to CWOA and its stolen, I guess it probably didnt help that the capsule was left on the floor (where ride staff told me to) instead of the boxes.. Went to AS and was told to fill in a lost property form, didnt bother as it was pretty obvious what happend, got it sorted at TP in the end.Stayed on park till around 2ish and headed to Thorpe to watch the footie.Whilst its no secret I'm not a huge CWOA fan, I must admit I personally did quite enjoy my day, other than bubbleworks I didnt notice any rides down.
  15. Inferno / Tidal / Storm surge should all be fine, Samurai is being worked on too.
  16. Where do you mean, you dont mean the Grey ones with rust do you? Cant say I noticed that. They seem to have fixed the speakers which wernt working since my last visit, its still abit quiet though but alot better than it was!
  17. Out of interest why opt for a Monday when usually meets are on a weekend when usually for people with jobs / uni its the only time there able to go? I'm all up for giving this a go again if the interest is there though..
  18. Or maybe its just not 100% finished yet?
  19. Whilst I agree, the ride isnt the most pleasing on the eye, its a fun ride, people come of the ride with huge smiles on there faces, want to run around and do it again, its a new experence the younger visitors of the park can also enjoy. Regardless of how it looks, people still enjoy it for what it is which imo, is the main thing. And why does everyone think Tidal Waves height restriction is now 1.4? I'm sure it would say somthing at the entrance if this was the case..
  20. Yeah they have done, Colossus looks like it has one too, much better idea than passing stuff over the fences.
  21. http://www.thorpeparkmania.co.uk/ride/Storm%20Surge Few more pics from today here
  22. Our first ride we got soaked by the effects and splashes, second go was alot dryer, seems to vary ride to ride.
  23. Now Storm Surge has now opened to the masses here is the new topic to discuss the ride.Rode it today, its clear the area is certainly not finished but nice work from the park to get it open on time. The ride its self is very fun, it spins alot more than I expected and is actually pretty intense for a "dingy ride", the theming what's there is nice, and I expect we will see more of it too soon when the area is actually finished.
  24. Its one carer per guest, it clearly states that on the website.Ride staff are there to assist guests getting off rides if need be, I dotn see why any more are needed frankly.
