  1. Thing is - if you put it into perspective a few angry people on Facebook / tpm isn't reakly so damaging to their name. I'd be certain more Standard pass holders will just pay it and go than avoid it.
  2. To be fair. Whilst I don't agree with the charge, when you bought your standard MAP February half term openings at thorpe wasn't even an option..

I'm not so sure comparing one of the most advance rides in the world to X is a fair comparison
  4. Braniac is returning for February half term
  5. To be fair in my experience apart from Open day which was usually the coldest - the park ran fine and got all the advertised rides open. The problem they had was when it was 0/1 degrees and even rides like quantum struggled to make it all the way round!! With a different selection of rides I dont see why it cant work.
  6. We can now confirm that the park is set to open for February Half term between the 14th and 22nd February. A selection of rides will be available along with Brainiac Live returning too! http://thorpeparkmania.co.uk/news/01-12-2014/February-Half-Term-Event-Returns

Hey all Just a quick update from us - Firstly due to other commitments Dara has left the Mania hub team - I'm sure you'll join me in thanking him for his contributions to the forums. I would also like to welcome Josh C and Altitude (Ethan) to the team - both have been helping out for a number on months on things behind the scenes with a lot of the website and Facebook content and both deserve the recognition! Thanks Marc
  8. The parks you like to compare it to are also very different markets. If anything we we're spoilt by years of high investment, it was never going to last for ever!
  9. Its hardly unusual for theme parks to only offer their own brands of food. Maybe in your opinion but you can talk for the millions of guests..
  10. Yeah you could - although you couldnt take bags on Men in Black (Although I guess that does spin a fair bit). Agree it does have its flaws but id say it works better than bag rooms and must be more cost efficient.
  11. I like how universal deal with it - free lockers for the length of the queue, nice and easy. Hated taking my bag on rides at Disney having to worry about holding on to it or keeping it dry
  12. And by far the parks most successful ride to date... (And I'm not a huge saw fan!) I know Saws pretty much universally hated among enthusiasts - theres no denying its was exactly what the park needed at that point in time.
  13. Backwards queue now only exists in the station abit like the normal Front row queues so dont affect the main queue moving.
  14. Not sure if I agree with this - more with enthusiasts this maybe the case - but as weve seen at Fright Nights the GP will queue 2 hours or so for Stealth / Inferno if thats how long the queue is.
  15. Fair enough - when ive ridden Storm Surge this year ive noticed the spash at the bottom seems much bigger than it used to be and will come over the side of the boat more times than not
  16. Out of Intrest do the others get you as wet as Storm Surge does? I remember back when it opened apart from the guns you wouldn't get wet atall which obviously meant the boats didn't get water in them, now most of the time you'll hey a big splash and wet at the bottom obviously filling the boat more!
  17. Happens every time I ride it - I just know how to avoid it I guess!
  18. I guess youve never been in a flooded loggers boat!!
  19. Whilst I'm not defending Storm Surge - Loggers Leap boats fill with water and soak your feet just as much, if not worse than Storm Surge does! Got to love closed season
  20. Don't get this whole Merlin hate for this, Merlin have shown they are more than capable in theming their attractions when they want to and the budgets there, for a ride which will be more about theming than any of the others I've no doubt they will theme it well and have the budget to do so.

I don't think thorpe would pretend that broken / graffiti walls in X are part of its theme.. X is touched up and repainted every year.. Last year after being open around 2 hours the walls were all ruined from graffiti, unfortunately painted wood is easy to scratch, I've no doubt it will be redone over closed season but after a day it will be ruined again. Of course they could knock down the queue and start again / cover the walls in something more graffiti proof but thats probably easier said than done.
  22. The blue railings are now all gone in the arene and had a pneumatic drill towards the back of the concrete seating area starting to take that down!
  23. No one knows at this point - the plans show a template of what the building could look like, like Saw I expect they will be keeping things like its theme under wraps as long as they can and wont give clues away in the planning application.
  24. Colossus has just started testing. Hopefully will reopen for the final few days of the season!
  25. When I went to America not all the rides opened on full capacity or even were at full capacity at any point or certain days. I agree it can be frustrating, but theres going to be more reasons to it than we can see or need to know.
