Apparently down all day today too, They should really make it clear on their website and what not that it will be down, a lot of people will be going just to ride The Smiler and will end up being disappointed. And yes I know they have over 50 rides and attractions

According to posts on FB ride staff have apparently been saying it may be down a few days. Alton are very much in the Thorpe Park dark days of 2006/7 when it comes to ride reliability now it seems :\
  3. Love how we blame Intamin.. There are plenty of Launch coasters out there which cables havent snapped
  4. With Fright Nights being advertised on thorpepark.com as: Wouldn't surprise me if it is Thorpe they are talking about... would be pretty awesome too!
  5. Ride close is at 7 throughout summer which will make it interesting next weekend, only 30 mins between them closing and them reopening, and rides could easily have a 30 min queue!
  6. Thats one thing I find thorpe very good at compared to the other parks is compensating guests (even when it isn't always their fault such as weather), it dont cost the park much / anything but it gives of a great impression IMO. Am heading down again next Saturday, fingers crossed its abit busier and the weathers good!
  7. To be fair the event is advertised as: On the friday all the queue boards said "coming soon" next to the rides which were going to open, there wasnt much confusion people just were waiting around the rides they wanted to ride first. On Friday Stealth hotdogs were open along with Bar360, I'm surprised Bar360 wouldnt serve food before the ERT started, seems abit silly seeing as they will have already been serving Crash Pad guests. I like the idea, id like to see it expanded more with a more family offering aswell, maybe open up Zodiac / Quantum? But judging by how quiet it was on the Friday and I assume the Saturday, unfortunately I cant see it staying past next weekend.
  8. I went to Fridays one and thought it was pretty good, The Noise played park wide which wasnt bad for the evening, but the park was just too quiet imo. Got on everything multiple times (apart from Tidal Wave).. Reliability was good, only saw Storm Surge go down for 5 mins. Am going again next week, I hope it starts to get abit busier as it will be hard for the park to justify staying open when its that quiet!
  9. Rode it yesterday and we actually had a pretty decent spin both times, I'm not sure if it was luck or what but it was actually pretty decent!
  10. Hope everyone's looking forward to tomorrow! I'm sure everyone who went to the Swarm Photoshoot will be aware, but don't forget the dress code for the photo shoot is bright summery and unbranded clothing! See you there!

    2 Hours / 2 Days... same thing I guess?
  12. Yep agree with that, and its pretty decent of the park to keep people informed that these days will be busy to IMO!

Wouldnt surprise me, the fact the rides been closed 2 days and theres been a crane on site indicates there may be more to this than just a bolt pop.
  14. I guess you mean 10am Will be fine, we should be finished at stealth by 9:30.
  15. 07:00 AM outside Reception. I know its early but it will be worth it, as for car parking the barriers will go down later in the day so it depend what time you leave!
  16. That pic amazes me, all them people stood in a queue without even heading on park to see what the queues actually are...

Few hours? Although to be fair the track didnt actually detach like it has here, I cant see it taking too long though.

Doubt it will be a few days, looks like there fixing it right now..
  19. Maybe the fastrack system is being run properly just the park have a very different idea to how many is acceptable compared to us? It's a common theme across the parks now with long queues to buy fastrack/ sellers at the evtrances and the fastrack queue making the main queue longer. If it was affecting guests days that badly they would complain in their masses and somthing would probably change.
  20. Ok saws abit different with where the transfer track is and the twisty track The rest are usually pretty fast!
  21. It really depends on the weather etc, it won't be as busy as the dates the park are warning about that's for sure!
  22. It only takes 5 min to take trains off and they will do so if they feel they are not needed or engineers need to do their checks on them
  23. Hey, Welcome to TPM! As a rule the first week of the summer holidays are generally the quietest (no idea why!!) so hopefully it wont be to bad for you! As for advice I'm sure others will better recommend but id head get Dragons Fury and Vampire done as soon as possible as these do rack up the highest queues! The zoo and shows around the park are also pretty good Have a good trip!
  24. The page has been updated, Tidal Wave and Storm Surge are now open with a "party atmosphere" on the beach!
