The compressed air generator is tiny and wouldn't bring the ride down!! It's only been closed a day calm down people!

If they are looking to extend it to 184 rooms they must feel demand is there which can only be a good thing, I'm not sure how the dome would cope with that many people though. With a travelodge opening in chertsey I guess the park feel they need to compete with the cheaper room market rarther than a full hotel. Mixed feelings on this really, the crash pad rooms are actually quite decent to be fair and more rooms will bring the prices down too which can only be good.
  3. So didnt forget about this *changes vote*

We bought it near Thirteen, we asked a few staff and we were sent to various places before we found this one though! It was £7 each, but we did get pretty much straight on.

Anyone else find that indoor section of queue seriously hot? I can see them either having to install some form of air con or have to start batching people through so they dont have to spend to much time in there, it was horrible in there!

Went on Smiler yesterday, as Mark said, it is a good ride. It opened late the the queue was stretching back in front of the towers so we decided to fastrack it, after being sent to 3 different places we eventually found where to buy fastrack. We rode it at around 4 and my first ride was at the front, it was a fun ride, there are a couple of jolty bits but nothing to major. We decided to ride it again at the end of the day too and we joined the external queue near the toilets at this point and it was awful, the ride often stacked all 5 trains (the whole thing even stopped for 10 mins with people on to deal with queue jumpers?) and it took us over 2 hours. The queue gives nice views yea, but in the heat I found it pretty horrible and so enclosed, its not something id do in a hurry. This time we rode at the back which was quite different, it threw you around alot more not to the point where it hurt, but the jolts were much more noticeable, when you think Nemesis is 20 years old, I wouldn't like to imagine how this would ride in that time!

Whilst its a shame, I'd rather they fixed it properly than reopen it as another flying fish..

I think certain types of it can, it will be alot more expensive though!

    Swarm wasnt.. </just sayin>
  11. http://www.yourlocalguardian.co.uk/news/10527568.Another_ride_shut_down_at_Chessington_World_of_Adventures/ I guess now we will get updates on every ride which breaks down :\
  12. As much as a woodie would be good, I can see a decent air time filled hyper coaster fitting in with the park much more so than a Wooden coaster, but maybe thats just me!
  13. They've now posted a picture of Superman at Six Flags, not going to lie id much rather this than a woodie!
  14. Busy I would guess, but I would see how the queues are before you buy fastrack, if you plan it right you should be able to get most rides done without it, id head over to Saw / Colossus first as most people head over to the Swarm now!
  15. If I was you I would go on the Sunday too, although it will still be busy it will be quieter than with the school trips in the week! Have a good time lt us know how it goes!

I believe the park has planning permission for rides to be open till 11pm Monday to Saturday and 10pm on Sundays so theres no reason why they couldnt do late nights. I'd love to see them go back to longer open hours like we used to see back in 2006!

Ive noticed that the security is a little different when you enter the park now, instead of the security section and a queue and people being randomly pulled theres 4 tables everyone walks past with security and anyone with a bag is stopped and a quick look in the bag. Much prefer it this way, seems much more friendly and fair on everyone.

Dont forget when fish moved to where it is now it also got a new train / PLC which it wouldnt need again. Not sure I can see them moving it again mind you!
  19. I wouldnt be that against it, Thorpe could do with a decent family coaster, and spinball is far from a bad ride as in ride wise. Whilst throughputs maybe an issue, if its not right at the front of the park maybe it wouldnt be so bad?

Good to see its back up!
  21. The park have also kindly sent over some answers to the questions we sent on to them! Here they are below, an a big well done to the engineer who counted all them components!! Q: Roughly how many components are included in a ride train? A: There are10648 components per car (one of our engineers counted them all!). Q: How long does the average wheel last and what do you do with the old ones? How about auctioning some off for charity? A: Running wheels last about 3 years and side and upstop wheels last 7 years. Q: How much of these cars are the original ones that were delivered (I assume you replace quite a bit of the workings of them each season so I am guessing its just the seats and chassis that are original) A: 6196 components have been changed per car since the ride went in, so that's about 42% of the cars that are still the original. Q: Have you ever thought of adding lights to the trains like the eyes of Swarm? A: Unfortunately this would take an extreme amount of redesign of the train and station electrics along with the extra components. Q What is the one fact that you think the coaster geeks and nerds don't know but would be amazed by? A: It takes 5 weeks to completely strip, clean, inspect, rebuild, grease and test 1 train. This takes 2 engineers, 3 winter cleaners and 2 external inspectors. Q: Because of the Nemesis name being implemented into Inferno's name, it means they are constantly compared. Would Nemesis Inferno ever be renamed to just Inferno? A: Nemesis Inferno has become a brand in its own right and we don’t mind the comparison’s to Nemesis at Alton Towers. Both rides have their own strengths.
  22. I'm glad everyone enjoyed it! Once again thorpe were great at looking after us and its nice to see its very much appreciated! So thanks to Thorpe for making it possible and Peaj in the organising of the meet!
  23. It's not the first time this rumor has surfaced, I think it's a case of putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5... But then nothing would really surprise me! I'm not too sure where it could fit at Thorpe tbh
  24. Hmm interesting, id actually say this is a pretty big bit of market research personally, their facebook likes along with their twitter followers is over 700,000 people they've just put that too, when you bare in mind how many people actually fill in questionnaires and what not thats a hell of a lot of people to ask. Their either seriously considering this or being mean and enjoying reading us lot get excited!!
  25. I'd vote for either F&B's, Nandos, Toby or harvester
