  1. If you got to a train station within the area I'm sure somone could help, but the places you listed are 100's of miles away :|
  2. By the sounds of it you will be better off getting a Thorpe Park pass, espcially with the offer at the moment which will get you a Thorpe pass for just £53! One thing to bare in mind is Fright Nights but then at just £5 usually, I cant see you using it that much to make it work out more than a merlin pass http://thorpepark.com/prices/annual-passes.aspx?tabnum=2
  3. The effects work on storm surge I think they are on a random timer but I'm pretty sure they all work
  4. I like the advert quite a lot actually, I think for a while the park have lacked an add which shows off more than just one of its rides and its nice to see them showing of the family rides to, I dont think we need any more proof that they are going back to targeting this market!
  5. Good to hear, the point I was trying to make is both parks have there pros and cons in the way things are run IMO. From what I understand your able to fill your capsule up at the restaurants (Bar 360 / Bush BBQ etc) if your eating a meal there. I'm not sure the reasons behind it.
  6. It's swings and roundabouts, Alton do things such as sell fastrack on the smiler when it's not reedy / have sellers going into the queue lines which is somthing I wouldn't like to see at Thorpe. Equally with the drinks I agree it's handy how at Alton you can just do it your self, but in the summer I rarther Thorpes system avoiding me fights with wasps!
  7. Huge thanks for Thorpe Park for this, will be great fun!
  8. @THORPEPARK: We've taken your comments on board and on Monday will be lowering the price for Summer Nights to £15 Standard & £5 Annual Pass. #HappyFriday
  9. I guess we will see if its too much from the sales wont we..
  10. ^ Different park. Thorpe didnt sell fastrack on Saw till it was running full capacity, they dont send fastrack sellers into its queue lines. They wont sell fastrack at this event.
  11. They wont advertise an event as having no queues and then sell 10,000 tickets will they. I'm sure it will be limited, and the number will be low enough to ensure there are no queues.
  12. Out of interest why would this stop you renewing your pass? (unless your a hotel enthusiast!) The park still has the same rides, and will continue to invest, they just clearly feel that a full hotel isnt right for them at this time. Crash pad has clearly had good guest feedback (otherwise they wouldnt consider this) so I dont see the real issue with this.

    Slammer

The compressed air generator is tiny and wouldn't bring the ride down!! It's only been closed a day calm down people!
  14. If they are looking to extend it to 184 rooms they must feel demand is there which can only be a good thing, I'm not sure how the dome would cope with that many people though. With a travelodge opening in chertsey I guess the park feel they need to compete with the cheaper room market rarther than a full hotel. Mixed feelings on this really, the crash pad rooms are actually quite decent to be fair and more rooms will bring the prices down too which can only be good.
  15. So didnt forget about this *changes vote*

    The Smiler

We bought it near Thirteen, we asked a few staff and we were sent to various places before we found this one though! It was £7 each, but we did get pretty much straight on.

Anyone else find that indoor section of queue seriously hot? I can see them either having to install some form of air con or have to start batching people through so they dont have to spend to much time in there, it was horrible in there!

    The Smiler

Went on Smiler yesterday, as Mark said, it is a good ride. It opened late the the queue was stretching back in front of the towers so we decided to fastrack it, after being sent to 3 different places we eventually found where to buy fastrack. We rode it at around 4 and my first ride was at the front, it was a fun ride, there are a couple of jolty bits but nothing to major. We decided to ride it again at the end of the day too and we joined the external queue near the toilets at this point and it was awful, the ride often stacked all 5 trains (the whole thing even stopped for 10 mins with people on to deal with queue jumpers?) and it took us over 2 hours. The queue gives nice views yea, but in the heat I found it pretty horrible and so enclosed, its not something id do in a hurry. This time we rode at the back which was quite different, it threw you around alot more not to the point where it hurt, but the jolts were much more noticeable, when you think Nemesis is 20 years old, I wouldn't like to imagine how this would ride in that time!
  19. Whilst its a shame, I'd rather they fixed it properly than reopen it as another flying fish..
  20. I think certain types of it can, it will be alot more expensive though!

  23. http://www.yourlocalguardian.co.uk/news/10527568.Another_ride_shut_down_at_Chessington_World_of_Adventures/ I guess now we will get updates on every ride which breaks down :\
  24. As much as a woodie would be good, I can see a decent air time filled hyper coaster fitting in with the park much more so than a Wooden coaster, but maybe thats just me!
  25. They've now posted a picture of Superman at Six Flags, not going to lie id much rather this than a woodie!
