  1. I plan to get there for some time in the morning - ish! I'm sure there will be a fair few of us there all day too!

    The Smiler

The fact that The Smiler has had more days closed than The Swarm has shows the B&Ms can say what they like
  4. As some of you may know, we are currently working behind the scenes on bringing an all new Thorpe Park Mania to you all, without you guys all this wouldn't be possible, so we are after your feedback! Is there anything you would like to see included in the new site, any ideas you have to improve current features or of course any new ones! If so drop me a PM, we listen to all feedback and will look into each one! We will have more news on when we hope to launch soon

    News Desk

Hi all We've made a couple of server side changes tonight, we expect everything to work ok, but if you have any problems please contact my self or Ian. Thanks Marc
  6. Yeah all the tvs worked fine for ert in the evening, as well as the mist and the helecopter watersplash, the fire engine splash and fire were off though. I'm sure backwards row queue was in operation? It was certainly being advertised as 80 mins on queue boards at one point!
  7. That would mean there's almost 2500 people in that fastrack queue... I can't see that
  8. the biggest problem now is that fright nights dont run solidly (the first few are over the weekends) so during the normal week its not fright nights, I would love them to go back to a solid few weeks of Fright Nights, even if week day open hours are reduced to meet demand.

http://www.ridetimes.co.uk/ - 3 Major coasters down (although 2 because of the stalling), probably not a nice day for guests today..

    The Smiler

I know that.. but I beleave when Smiler stalled in testing the train had to be taken apart and craned off the track rather than simply moved along. I guess maybe people are used to Saw stalling now

    The Smiler

Well if what Towers Times say is correct and the train needs to be craned off the track (as it was when it stalled in testing) then id say its a fairly big deal for those travelling to ride it today..

    Rebranding Thorpe

Didnt notice the fat heads had gone actually but yeah there no where to be seen! I think with the Crash Pad and then X being rethemed and alot of effort going into making it a half decent ride (especially for the younger ones) its clear that the park are looking to appeal to the whole family, and I suspect this will continue as the parks looks to become a Resort to. Overall I quite like the "branding" what the park use, the fonts / colours / graphics etc, I think they all look quite funky and fun and could easily be used on park when trying to appeal to all ages. One thing I would like to see is the the return of themed areas, things like The Swarm are great, but id like to see areas like that expanded in the future, and current areas neatened up. Its good theyve bought back area music such as in Lost City, all seems to be steps in the right direction.
  13. After visiting yesterday Lost City has its ambiance back which is good, WWTP at stealth and Tidal seemed way higher pitched though!
  14. Nice find! I expect we will start hearing more over the summer months!

    Slammer

Possibly, as I said ive rode it with people who are over this weight and we've never had a problem atall

    Slammer

Ive ridden with people over this weight and its been no problem at all, ive never seen them weigh anyone and dont even think there are scales.
  17. I think its the same person who does Zodiac / Rumba / Loads of other rides on park too, aswell as a fair share of TV adverts!
  18. If the demand for riding it backwards is as big as that, to me it would make sense to turn more rows backwards rather than turn them back forwards.
  19. Just a thought... Maybe the effects will be fixed? Just because somthings broken when you ride it, dont mean it will never work again, things often require parts, they cant hold spare parts for every single thing which may break..
  20. I cant see it changing back any time soon, they spent alot of money on doing it and it seems to be pretty popular so why would they just change it back?

    The Smiler

Just find it strange how this particular part of the track seems to look so much worse than the rest. Anyway RideRater are now reporting that it wont open till June, wouldnt surprise me TBH.

    The Smiler

I know that, the point I was making was the amount of paint taken off on that one bit of section quite quickly! Some parts of Colossus look less aged that!

    The Smiler

The queue line looks awful now, you cant really blame H&S for it, even if they did advise them to cover it they wouldnt specify they have to buy the cheapest rustiest metal they can find. About it being rough, it does look abit rough in moments but maybe thats just the videos It seems to have lost alot of paint from this section of track though.... (From TT)
  24. Nice to see the park getting some recognition for all the hard work which has gone in over the last couple of years, theres no doubt the parks improved drastically over the past couple of years.

    The Smiler

The fact there are diggers digging up land around it and workers hammering bits and bobs on the lift hill I guess its more than H&S.
