  2. So basically my brother has ruined my fun, happy evening in a space of about half an hour. First he moans that he can hear me on Skype, claiming that I sound "immature" and that this worries him, and also that he worries about the ages of people I speak to. Well for the record, many of them are my age or only a few years younger, and my "immaturity" (I mean really, define "Immature") is something I've always had, nothing to do with who I speak to, which he knows, he just has nothing better to do these days than criticise me and mum while he sits on his bored, unemployed arse. And besdies, at least I am actually conversing with people who I share interests with, which is more than I can say for him! Total hermit who revolves his life around TV. Harsh but true I'm afraid! (Yet he seems to think that the fact that he's been to uni etc makes him better than me...he has so much to learn, poor thing.) Oh and I keep my bedroom door properly closed, whereas he likes to sit with his open to avoid feeling claustrophobic. So how can he expect peace and quiet? It's not like I shout down the mic to everyone, I'm really shy at talking ffs! Secondly, I later on trip and go flying over the hoover which he very carefully placed (NOT!) at the botrtom of the stairs. Bearing in mind it was pitch black, we cannot turn on the downstairs hallway light from upstairs, and even with the upstairs landing light on, you cannot see the bottom of the stairs/hallway. And you wouldn't expect anything large to be there to trip you up...how wrong I was. I flew over the hoover, my head narrowly missing the wall, my plate dropping to the floor and luckily not smashing into my hand/arm, whacked my knee on the hard floor and grazed/carept-burned my wrist. Yes, it could have been far worse; but 1) He shouldn't have left it there, not only is the bottom of the stairs a stupid place, but our hallway is very cramped so even in broad daylight it's a struggle to avoid tripping over it, let alone at night! and 2) Yes it could have been worse - I could have smashed my head OR my mum could have tripped up and broken some bones, as she has osteoporosis. Fantastic. You know what the best thing was? His blasé reaction to it all. Didn't even apologise. Just moaned about the noise etc it caused, I'm not even joking. Quite often I soon look back at these events and laugh, but somehow I don't think I will be with this. Oh and incase anyone is wonrdering; he is older than me. He is 25. Compared to other 25 year olds I know, he is so backwards he may as well become a time machine. So yeah, I'm now in a foul, tearful mood (that fall really shook me up for some reason) after a really fun night. While I'm at it, thank you to Mr Fish for providing your livestream of music and linking it into Chat, it's been great fun! Especially some of us going "live" on it via Skype and enabling those also in Chat to listen in and join in, send requests etc! Let's hope tomorrow night goes a lot better! Apologies for yet another rant about my family but argh! It's like, even when I shut myself away in my room to avoid my family and our arguments, I still get dragged into something!
  3. Oh lord, this reminds me of chat last night Ben got his knickers in a twist because he didn't see the thread advertising new mods and demanded it should have been made clearer Phill, I wondered that too, I think by experience they mean any coaster/ride/attraction?

    Welcome..

For some reason this reminds me of the scene in Order of the Phoenix where Dumbledore says something like "I'm sure you'll all join me in wishing the professor good luck this year" Not saying the moderator jobs are cursed or anything! (Although Marc blates wears a turban with Voldemort's face hidden under it)
  5. From what I heard/understood, Extremis will be there but it will operate the same way that Sub Terra does, so you drop without the going up part Which I personally think is a shame as I love how the current Extremis works, with the music and build up etc In fact, the whole move makes me unhappy. As pluk said they need to have that dungeon feel to them, which it naturally has in its current location. And the sound of the trains overhead Regardless of how much "better" and newer things will be and the new scenes, I will still miss the old location and it's going to feel odd going into County Hall! Dis better be good! (Putting the importance of station expansions aside/the fact that I use public transport and realise the importance) Screw you Network Rail for making the Dungeons move!
  6. Oh be quiet you! A pic of the Benjy for comparison and for those unaware of what he looks like Ben are you sure you don't have a long lost Russian brother?
  7. So basically, someone who is a bit of a drip?
  8. Really love those parrot trains, so colourful and shiny and lovely and And blue LEDs!
  9. This rather sexy dancer from Strictly Come Dancing reminds me of Ben! Anyone else agree or is it just me? I can't quite tell what it is, I think it's the eyes (slightly), the nose and chin shape...and the serious face *Will feel silly if no one else knows what I mean but me and Liam know what I mean so *

    Music

Love that song Dara Agreed that it's worth every second of the length. I remember when you first recommended this song to me (must thank you again for introducing me to The Sound of Arrows!) I didn't listen straight away as the length put me off a little and I have to be in the mood for lengthy songs. But when I did listen to it I loved it As you say it works as both a personal song and a wider-reaching one. I can definitely relate to it with everything I've been through and some things I'm going through recently
  11. Oh wow James Even though I've already seen the photos on your Facebook, putting them on here as a TR makes it even better! Love how much effort you've put into it all
  12. James you need to post your pics or link your Facebook album! Your park looks amazing I haven't played this game for years and had never thought about custom scenery, tracks, supports etc. Must get back on there soon, although I fear that as I have got older I will lack the motivation to sit and put the time and effort in. The thing that bugs me though is the way the peeps look close up, and their faces And the "squarish" look of some things like restraints etc. Not a rant, as I said it bugs a little. I'd love a super realistic theme park game, like No Limits style (but easier to use!) but a park simulation one like RCT. I've never got got to grips with No Limits although I did only have the demo, but the fun for me is running a park and not just building the coasters. RCT4?

    The News

So Obama has been re-elected In the past I've never given any interest into the US election, but as I was up late and couldn't sleep, I ended up keeping an eye on it via Twitter, very handy It was exciting watching the results come in! I'm glad they have a leader to be proud of, unlike us poor unfortunate souls in the UK. My aunt posted a great Facebook status: "God I wish we lived in the states where we had a leader to be proud of and was actually popular. Instead of a couple of total mindless knob ends." (Apologies to anyone here who likes Cameron... ...if there actually is anyone)

Haha I've found the opposite (also mainly visiting at weekends), that there has been 2 members of staff in there. I guess its down to staff budgets etc, how busy the park will be, blah blah. Perhaps to make things easier they cover each others breaks, meaning for a while there will only be one in there? I have no idea, but yeah I usually see 2 people in there
  17. Good video, looks a pretty decent ride! Gotta love the random bald bloke at the end too

When I worked there, the rules were that the inside queue should not extend past the ramped part of the queueline (and when running all 5 trains was about 20 minutes queue from the bottom of the ramp). The reasons I believe were H&S (fire/evac safety) and also as the interior can get very hot and has no air con and little (if any?) ventilation, causing guests to faint sometimes. Even staff members have fainted (on one occasion the onloader managed to knock the E-stop with their head as they collapsed!) EDIT: Relocation of the bag room I can't remember/am not sure about. But the bag room being in the old photos area seems the better option as the bag room is bigger, can accommodate two members of staff, and the large exit area is easier for collection as opposed to the exit path by the old bag room at the front of the building.

Agreed. Its current theme doesn't belong anywhere in the park, it's just sat on its own being random. A total retheme to fit into an area, say Lost City, is really what it needs. Ideally the building needs a total refurb as it is in an awful state, the walls for example are battered and vandalised, and often the damage is covered up by duct tape, which is then painted over. Sounds hideous but it's what I witnessed back in 08 as an employee! Whether these were just "Quick fixes" until closed season I don't know, but either way it's bad that it can be damaged so easily. I can't think of any solutions to this other than rebuilding the pyramid (which we can highly doubt will happen), I'm hardly a DIY or building expert But I bet if the building had a clear and exciting theme, people would be less likely to become so bored as to vandalise it. Especially if the rumours about lowering the height restriction are true; it should be exciting inside for the younger guests while they queue. Of course, that's all very lovely to think about...reality is, theming wise, we'll probably just get a lick of paint on the inside walls and another new soundtrack I would really love it if Thorpe did something special with this though. It's a perfect opportunity!
  20. Agreed ^^ Also I can't seem to be able to post videos and have them show up as videos, it just has the link. Tried using both media and URL tags but both do the same. Tried no tags and still the same. I don't know if it's because I'm posting from my phone, but it's the normal URL and not a mobile one. Or do we need to actually embed them in now?
  21. I really hope the Mondial Turbine is there! For those who don't know (as I believe there haven't been any in this country yet and it's a new ride), it's Mondial's version of a Booster. A double-ended Capriolo...but with a twist. The gondolas not only flip (at insane speeds!), they also rotate The ride stands at an impressive 65 metres - 213ft! Fabbri Boosters are about 135ft, not sure about KMG Speeds but guessing it's about the same. Just imagine, while they load the other gondola, you sit 215ft in the air, looking out over London It looks so dam awesome! On ride video! Off ride video The on ride video makes my heart race with excitement! If this beast is there it'll make my Christmas! EDIT: No idea why the YouTube links are showing as links and not the video itself. Doesn't matter if I use media or URL tags or none at all. Grr.
