  1. I love it Love the pics and the videos we have had recently :wub:I love how in that video they sit there all casual, yet laughing hysterically :lol:EDIT: OMG more pics Thanks Diesel!
  2. ^^ Ditto. I do not look like a guy. Thanks.Flying around Colossus at 45mph will however blast my hair off my face to make it look short/like a guy's. I'm assuming that's why I got mistaken for Ricky anyway. If there's anything else about me that people think makes me look like a guy then you need your eyes tested! Or a slap from me
  3. That is cool Sheepie, I did see the results I just wondered how long the poll was open for
  4. Exactly, I could not agree more Even though Sundays are "quieter" (I mean really, they can't be THAT much quieter, face it, it's going to be quite busy so either way?) I reckon the reason we had low meet numbers last year was due to the fact the meets were Sundays. The SAW open meet was a Saturday and that had a good turn out, for example.I can see both sides but the mod team have had members requesting.suggesting meets not to be on Sundays becuase of public transport and commitments the following day.
  5. I haave voted for the 17th and will try to book it off work, when will the results be announced? The sooner the better so I can get it off (withouth sounding selfish, of course there will be others who need enough time to arrange it off if need be).If it's on the Sunday then again, I will try to boo it off, probably will have more chance of getting it off as Sundays are quieter on the pier. Not sure if that made any sense but meh.
  6. Super Booster has been sold! Originally heard it was going within then next few months.by the summer, but today I heard it's going within 2 weeks! It's costing the pier a lot to maintain, it's having a lot of problems. Rumours at the moment are that it will be replaced with a simulator and a Move-It :oEven though they have good reasons for removing it, it will be a shame. It really is the most intense ride there, and a very unique ride, the only one in the UK! Glad I got to ride it today, the feeling in your stomach is just...argh!
  7. Meh, I changed my mind I still would've attended meets though either way
  8. I should hopefully be able to get this day off work, will PMyou Mar when I know for certain :PSounds awesome Can't wait!Does this mean there will still be an open weekend meet, and if so, when will the date be announced? I know you guys are busy and still deciding on the meets but as it's 5 weeks away, people will need to know pretty soon to be able to arrange time off work etc (or at least I do )
  9. Well in terms of the water in the pit, when I worked there, this is what I was told:The water in the pit gets dirty/algae, and the only way to prevent this would be to put chlorine in it. They can't do this because the water in the pit drains out into the late, and obviously they can't have chlorine going into the lake! They would have to clean it regularly I guess as the only other way to prevent the dirt which requires people to stay on after normal working hours and go down there in wellies and brooms and squeegies (or whatever those water broom things are called!) etc. Something I guess they just don't want to or can't afford to do.

  11. Well I'm not neccessarily 100% back
  12. My fantastic artwork of Liam's Skype profile pic. Lips went a bit wrong, but hey, it's damned good enough!
  13. Rawwr I love Stealth. The launch is like "WHOOOOA!" and the G's you pull when you go up are like "ARRRGH!!" and the airtime as you go over the top hat is like "WAAAA!" and then when you plummit towards the ground it's like "OMGGGGGGGGGG!" and then the airtime hill is like "EEEEEEEEK!"Sorry if that looks spammy but those I feel are pretty good explanations :DIn all seriousness though, it's a great coaster. Love the music too! And the themed trains, let's not forget those. I remember the Stealth mini-site and seeing the update photos of the trains at school in a science lesson and being like
  14. Well whoever has been saying the inline twist was slow is a fish!It wasn't the inline twist I personally found slow from the testing video, it was the corkscrew. The speed through the inline twist is perfect!
  15. Aww good luck Ben! :)I have been to two at Chessie, two at Thorpe, and one recently at Sea Life, so I know what these assessment centres are all about!I can't give an exact number but I'd say between 20-30 will be in attendance on the day, if not, less. The interviews are held after the assessment part and are one-to-one, most probably with a Rides Manager. The activites are anything that involves you interacting with others in the group. The idea of the assessment centre is for the managers/whoever is running them to get an idea of what you are like interacting with others, as that is a key part to your role as a rides host! When I worked at Thorpe it was 30 minutes before park opening, occassionally 45 minutes before. At Chessington I believe it was 45 minutes before, but this was back in 2009. But it should be around 30-45 minutes before the park opens. Besides, they will tell you all this and give you the chance to ask questions on the assessment day :)A Merlin Magic Pass is a basically your 20 free tickets for you, family and friends to use! It is a piece of card which can only be stamped 20 times, each stamp being one admission obviously. Although sometimes, if the admissions staff are nice, they will stamp it less times than you need! You get your Merlin Magic Pass once you have successfully completed your introductary period. This is 6 weeks at some attractions, I don't know what it is for Chessie but again, this is something you can ask about or they will tell you about at the assessment centre. You can also get staff discount by using your staff pass, which you should have from your first day at work.So go along, relax, be yourself, and have fun! The more involved you get with the activities, the better, but also demonstrate that you are a good listener and confident in talking to others.I hope it goes well for you
  16. Where did that video come from?!!!
  17. I'm starting to agree now about the ride length :unsure:It never really bothered me but after seeing the video and the more I read people's comments, the more I find myself agreeing! But I'm still uber excited about it and of course, there is the theming
  18. OH WOW!!! :DIt looks amazing! I know Wing Riders are meant to be more graceful than fast (for lack of a better way to word it) but it really does crawl awkwardly through that corkscrew! Blimeh! Although as BenC said, it was the first run.And B&M ROAR MUCH?! OOOFT! If you have speakers or earphones with good bass, during that turn before the corkscrew you can really hear it rumbling, and also during the inline twist! NOM!I loved hearing all the staff's reactions too, was hilarious! Especially during the first drop "Oh my Go-o-o-o-od!" And then the guy at the end "Nice." :lol:Love love love love it!
  19. Sod them Lauren, just be yourself. The people who don't accept you for who you are are not worth the pain and the trouble.I really hate how, after unintentionally upsetting a good friend recently (and being deleted as their FB friend), I apologise numerous times but receive no acknowledgement. If they don't wish to be friends anymore then I guess there is nothing more I can do, but it's going to be very awkward in the future when we're in the same places at the same times. I have been mature about the situation and admitted I did wrong, and am willing to move on. Why can't they? As I said, if they don't then things are going to be very awkward! Life is too short to be licking the same wound...I hate it when people get power hungry and make up rules as they please.I wish I could express an opinion without someone turning against me.I also hate how people seem to be turning against me more and more recently, when nothing about me has changed as far as I'm concerned.I know I am not the easiest person to understand, I'm not stupid, I know the sort of negative things people think about me. Fortunately, there are a few friends that are mature enough to understand, but also point out when I have annoyed them, but in a polite, easy to understand manner, but not bluntly. There are those that don't care what I'm like and don't think I am any different, but appreciate if I struggle with something, and don't claim I'm using things as an excuse. These are the people that keep me going when everyone else has given up. If only everyone could be like this!So yeah, sometimes I don't know why I bother. It seems that no matter what I do, someone will be moaning, someone will be upset, etc etc. I don't know what else to do This is who I am, and that's not going to change!"Be who you are and say what you feel; for those that mind don't matter, and those that matter don't mind."Wise words there from Dr Seuss!
  20. Awesome pics Exciting times! But where is the train in the second pic? Am I going mad or there actually not a train on the track?
  21. Well today has been an absolute **** day.Went to the assessment centre at Sea Life, I put my heart and soul into it and thought I did so well. Out of the thirteen of us, only three went through to interviews! When we were kicked out (via the shop too, great) we all said how shocked we were at some of the others who we felt did brilliantly and deserved at least an interview. Then when we went to Madame Tussauds to drown our sorrows, for the taxi ride obvs...the audio in the taxi didn't work, so we got a second go but it didn't work AGAIN! Ok so this was actually laughable but thought I'd add it anyway :PMy shoes I was wearing were pretty uncomfortable, especially the left as my left foot is smaller than my right. I had shoved a load of tissue at the front so my feet didn't rub and gve me a blister but it soon failed, so I now have a painful blister on the back of my ankle, and I have work tomorrow. Great.I am stumbling around Clapham Junction waiting for my train in agony and people on benches stare at the weird way I am walking and struggling to even stand up, but not one of them offers me a seat. This country is full of incredibly selfish, disrespectful people. Then I get home, feel ok, have a nap and feel a bit worse, so I have a few drinks, nothing silly as I am working tomorrow, and join chat, and you guys cheer me up. I think to myself "At least I still have my cattery job, I am still privelaged to be a moderator here, and I have Ben ".Bu then some hours later, as I am sure you will have noticed, I am removed as a Moderator. I'm gonna be mature and not gonna go into it. There is a part of me which wants to prove myself in the hope of being re-modded. Becuase I don't deserve this, and I have had a lot of positive feedback regarding my role as Moderator.Yesterday was such a good day (it was my mum's birthday, and my cousin bought us round a load of shopping and my grandad gave her £1000 to fix her car and go towards the huge gas bill we are struggling to pay off!), but today it feels like so many things that are important to me are slipping away...
  22. The only preview days that I know of are the AP day and the Family and Friends day, which as the name suggests, is only for family and friends of Thorpe staff.
  23. Where have Thorpe actually confirmed if there is an Annual Pass day or not?I know last years was a disaster but it would be a shame if they don't have one this year, and it would be very popular what with Swarm!
