  1. I witnessed a GP trying to use a map earlier and their words were "this is f**king useless".
  2. This is the first time I've been completly on my own today.RC:Stealth x11Inferno x6 (2 Front + Train to myself)Colossus x3 (1 Front) (+ Evac which I got to see the manternence area from another point-of view + Priority pass which lead to a second front row on Inferno with no queue)Det x4Rush x7Vortex x1Saw x1 (Final car of the day + having that car completly to myself, which makes it REAL slow + It was nice to see a UV light replaced in the seringes)Saw Alive x1 (Much more consistant today, effects were about right, the jigsaw pre-show simply replaced by the security woman speaking was probally for the better)Samurai x1Slammer x1Fish x1X x1Loggers x139 rides. Thats better. Queues were just timed well. From what I saw they were about average for a 9.30 - 6.00 day.
  3. I'm going tomorrow as good 'ol Steyning Grammar has a day off. Knowing my luck this year, probally every school has a day off...
  4. Well as the 2 cars are spaced on the ride, I can't see how they could of got that close unless one stopped on the Mid-Course Brake, and one was parked on the lift. Even if the two cars were stopped before the lift to close that spacing, you have to wait for the lift chain to cycle round. These trains can only be about 20 seconds-ish apart, if that. The chances of this happening are so slim. Let alone so perfectly. Its photoshopped. And another factor, that first train would have to clear that MCBR for the next train to even enter that first block. You can't tell me the second train would make 1/3 of the outside course in the time it takes for the first to start the dive loop.Photoshopped.
  5. WANT! ...but will probally never get :(The longest I have sat at the top is 8 seconds-ish. I was at the back. I sooo wish I rocked in the seat now instead of sitting dead still... oh well. Mind you, that was quite epic in itself seeing the platform up there for a little longer! That day I saw 8 rollbacks. There were actually 9. Then they removed a train which stopped them which was quite annoying.
  6. When I was younger I came off the ride with concussion. Had a massive lump on the back of my head and was brused. That was a BT event to remember... 7 rides without leaving. I don't find it too bad nowadays though. Just don't sit in the middle where it does the typical Arrow shuffle shunt. It could do with some extra padding on the plastic. Digs in to the back a bit.
  7. For points:1) I didn't see it rollback yesturday. It was going over at a reasonable pace every time, but then it was quite warm. But rollbacks can accur anyday for whatever reason. 2) Likely to be rammed with hour queues.3) SRQ on Stealth was pretty sharp yesturday with about 40 min wait, filled to the bottom gate. Depends on the staff I guess though. 4) No Saw SRQ as of yet, although there were a few hosts saying they were trying to get it back.5) Yesturday there was minimal actors. 1 per room, No pigs, On my go...
  8. Today started well:- Reride front row on Inferno. Then a reride up the back.- Got the ride order perfect in the morning, doing Inferno x3, Slapps, Loggers, Det, Rush, and then got to Stealth just as it opened for front row late morning. It was 12pm when it suddenly became rammed and then everything fell into the depths of oblivion. Saw and Stealth were out for most of the morning. Rumba was draining/pumps off/closed around lunch-ish time. Samurai was also messing about.Fastrack was making queues crazy. Even when everything finally started working. At one point the Fastrack Inferno shop queue was well past fungle safari.Alive was actually DIRE today.Inferno - 3 (2F) (2 Cattle pens used and on the return at mid-day)Stealth - 4 (1F)Det - 1Fish - 1Quantum - 1Rush - 3Colossus - 1 (Longest queue 75mins (we queued this))Saw - 1 (About 60mins after hours (we queued this))Saw Alive - 1Loggers - 1Slammer - 1Samurai - 119 rides. Even worse count than last time. This was at a push because we rushed around in the morning aswell.I remember in 2007 in an easter trip; our ride-count was well into the 50's...not anymore...
  9. Bit annoyed that Thorpe removed the upside-down flashing sign in KFC. Now it feels bare/bland inside without that center piece...and its something that actually worked without fail and looked very good...Thorpes tag line should be "If it ain't broke, break it...".Its annoying that they keep wrecking Amity with crap everywhere or taking out good bits. On a lighter side...I liked the Cirque Du Freak music. I liked the little cirus theme tunes inbetween songs. Lost City seemed to have a different loop to the rest of the park though? And its nice to see that Colossus' station Queue doorway theming was remade. Even if it was with spray-can paint which makes it all shiny.
  10. The mist was consistant today. It filled the tunnel nicely. They seem to have the full 5 min version of the Inferno theme in the station now instead of the 2 min version. The cannons were completely dead still though. Just the farting normal speakers that can't handle any bass.

    SAW: Alive

Saw Alive was just on The One Show... was a reasonable report if anybody can get a copy of it...

Well its marketed like its gods gift, so thats what I want to expect. From that video it looks like a dull and boring piece of **** other than the drop thing. I'm in a **** mood anyway so that might not be helping the issue.
  13. The area feels alive again and full of atmosphere with WWTP loud and the lovely sign half working! Tis a shame the flashing letter started messing up by the end of the day, but meh, IT WORKS!!!
  14. Theres marketing, then theres wrecking parts of the park. Why couldn't they just add a small tag line below an existing Tidal Wave logo, like the sponsor of Air did, or even Rumba and still leave a ride how it was. Not plaster massive chunks of crap over the themeing. There seems to be no escapism in Thorpe now. Its just plastered in marketing absolutely everywhere. Its very "in your face". But, on a positive side it does add a bit of colour to a dieing bit of theming. But I'm sure it would make more sence in the long run to make the park a friendly, presentable place to be. Instead of giving the impression that all they give a toss about is raping your wallet of all the loose change, over the quality of the guest experience.
  15. ... what ya think? Its not a big as I was expecting. I thought it would dominate/overpower that gap. I actually think it looks great!

Nah, Its just the same grey paint that its always had. From some angles it almost appears green. From another angle, you get a little hint of green too. http://gallery.towersalmanac.com/displayimage.php?album=30&pos=2

    MTDP

Tbh, It looks like potential sites for rides/coasters rather than a for sure plan. Notice the layouts for all 3 coaster positions are a vary of the same thing, just different scales. They are just testing the water really.Remember the old plan where only about half the installations/plans shown followed through to being built too...
  18. All I get is a runtime error, like in the image a few posts above.
  19. Welsh Boy:XP: Start > Control Panel > Sound and Audio Devices > Sounds Tab. Then you have a list of general computer sounds that you wish to change. The tracks have to be a wav. file. For Messenger you go to Tools > Options > Sounds and just add new sounds. I don't use Vista, so I don't have a clue for that.
  20. I listern to the park music every day. Inferno is my computer start up, shut down tune. Stealth is my email tune, Rush (RCT3 Breakdown sound) is Messenger sign in, Saw is my MSN recived message, Colossus is a nudge Crazy stuff hehe ...And thats just the computer!Yet I still get inspired to listern to them tunes many more times over and over again!
  21. I just listerned to the old one again and now I'm not sure if it was new music. Nether are a tune I can keep in my head so I cannot compare. Someone else will have to comfirm it 100%. If it was for sure new then it sounded very much like the style of the old one.
  22. I've just been into Chessie to renew the Annual Passes. The new Green/Grey colours are really nice. The "wrecked" look to the buidling instead of the castle theme looks nice too. The speakers have all been replaced too. The bamboo queue looks very fitting.Oh, and the music is lovely Well I think so anyway!
  23. All the lower queue speakers seem to work on Inferno. Its just they seem to play an ambient "tweeting birds" type loop. Its almost pointless as you can't hear that type of tune in a loud amusement park. I wish they would just play the main theme tune in the lower queue and area. The full 5 min loop, not the 2 min version they currently run on the station an entrance gate. Play the rumble on the volcano, a bassy bubbling type sound under the loop/stall turn as you move away from the ride, where we need the music to start fading off. I'd remove the main theme tune from the station. The ambient jungle "crickets" tune would work well in there and have the dispatch tune obviously. Having that main theme with the dispatch kills any dramatic feeling that it used to have. You got to keep it quiet before to enhance the impact of the dispatch tune. Also run it through the cannons again and have it so loud you can't hear yourself speak. (I hate the fact they don't use them. What a waste of money and a waste of a bassed up theme tune that never shows any bass anymore). Thats the loudness it should be. Thats how loud all Thorpe's area music should be too.
  24. I've actually memorized the entire brake run noice sequence of Inferno. Those good old B&M sounds The brakes, the slow rolling, the little clunk hitting the transfer track etc. :(Its like an orchestra of mechanical sounds...
  25. I'd just change Rita's trains out for...T-Bar original trains They are soo nice on TTD Even though the restraint kinda supports the upper body in that first corner, I'd rather a strong whip like TTD does in the downward roll. I'd get Oblivion back to how it was in the opening years and the same with Nemesis. Air's planned theming would also be installed and I would add light blue spotlights (that move like stage ones) in the tunnel and a rustic paint job to the lift to blend it with nemesis a tad more.Thats it for now!
