  1. It's played in both Ranger county (the MR Monkey Banana theme) and also as you exit Port Atlantis to go in to the park by Guest servicesPretty tropical with steel drums etc

    Music

I am listening to the High School Musical 3 soundtrack
  3. Summer party is a great idea. Water fighting, barbee queues, music and um, just aa good atmosphere.Would love to see Thorpe park try to stick to keeping the rides in good working order (and not having them break down every 5 minits)More shows would be good but as someone all ready said, please no more BMX stunts. Maybe the return of the Thorpe park rangers, doing shows through the day.Themed days would be good, Sports theme, history etc with events around the park relating for that paticular day or week.Louder audio at the entrance, it's nice to come in and hear that welcoming song.I'll get back to this thread when I come up with more
  4. That's true, though I was told the reason was that I go too the park so much (so you just get bored of it)Has anyone noticed some new songs this year that were not playing last year?. I have, and I think it's awsome. It's just background after all. Would be cool if it was live though, I'd love to hear daily news from the parks and I suppose that would also mean less repeats.

    Rush

Better late than never I suppose.Guess I'll just wait till the main season
  6. Any sound in X no way out is goodLove the sound of Detonator as it takes riders to the top.Anything announcement wise, and any sound heard by or on Vortex
  7. As much as I'd like Posidon (I love it when I'm in america) I don't think Thorpe could aford it. I know, but I really think the english atractions are nothing like the ones in America!. The closest I've probably seen is Time voyagers, and even that lacks american style
  8. I'm not sure replacing Neptune's beach is a good idea. In the summer, it can get very popular with families and kids. If you want a water coaster, try looking at some other park

    Rush

I think it would be a good idea to post on the website that it is down, then people who look on the main website daily to plan trips etc will know what to expect
  10. Water coaster?. Sounds just odd!An indoor coaster like Revenge of the mummy?. what's wrong with No way out, closest thing at the moment if you ask me.I agree I'd like to see more rides like Disney Universal etc, but you have to remember planning permition and also the financial costs. I'm sure if thorpe could build Revenge of the mummy they would do it, but they arn't just going to get money from other companies or struggle to build something they don't even have the parts for.A new water ride is not a good idea, Thorpe have 3. Rumba rapids, Logers Leap and Tidal wave. Persinally if I was running the park I'd take away the Flying fish and build a Big Thunder mountain like in Orlando, but hey, maybe in the future

Hope it opens soon, I missed riding it when I went yesterday!.Does anyone know what they are actually doing to the ride?.I hope it has a better season this year, 2008 was not really prime time for it.
  12. Hello, welcome!.You're just in time for the new theme park season, so glad of you to join us!. :)I hope you enjoy the forums as much as I do
  13. I went to Thrill Chill at Thorpe Park today. Driving along the M25, I was constantly going on about getting my first rides in of the season and going on Rush ( the usual highlight of a Thorpe trip)Getting there at around 11.15, we were pleased to find a good space, and also that the park had not quite atracted lots of people yet, means we didon't have to queue long to get in.. always a good thing!.After paying, going to the toilet and getting a map, we headed for the Lost City. Intent on riding Rush, we headed in that direction only to find it shut, with not even an operator to tell us what was going on. Although it was the ride I was really looking forward to, I decided to try later and headed to Vortex.Vortex is always an awsome ride, with this time being no exception. You always get plenty of thrills, screaming and just a good feeling from going on it. I just love the feeling of being so high up.After the Vortex, we did Quantom. Not getting a chance to do it last year (it was always down when I went) plus we didon't go much because of our regular trips to Chessie and our trip to Orlando) it was nice ttoo go on something that I kind of forgot was even there. It may not be as rough as the Vortex, but I still found it fun. The feeling of having no stomach is just amazing (I know, I'm weird!).Moving in to X no way out (and stumbling in the dark), we were greetted with the usual "critical error detected" which kind of adds to the fun of the ride. Just hearing the audio really does it for me.The ride itself was amazing, I enjoyed going backwards (and stopping a couple of times) adds to the thrill!. Unusual concept too, I don't know any other backwards coasters. After that, we let my sisterr and her friend ride Colossis. Never liked this ride (think it's the 10 loops that put me off!). The rest of us just waited (a very very long time). It was a 70 minit queue. After looking at the photos and deciding not to buy them (more like my sister didon't want them) we moved to Inferno. Again, skipped this one out (never really an inferno fan!). Ended up going to the Inferno shop to buy a pick an mix (or should I say, pick and nick more like). A lot of people were just filling the buckets with sweets and leavingTime for KFC, and the old time music of WWTP in Amety Cove. We always end up singing along, guess that shows our ages!. Either that or we're very well informedFood was great, I ended up having chicken and fries... I love the chicken in KFC!.We talked about what to do next, and deciding we wanted to do Time Voyagers, we headed there. It was closed for some non aparrent reason so milled around the games for a while trying to win ourselves something (you know those things with the buzzer). Deciding not to ride Detinator either, there'd be nothing to do in octopus garden and that it was pointless going on a banana boat for a few swings, we headed back for another go on vortex. We were waiting to go on... it broke down!. My sister was getting all impatient and want another go on No way out, but I insisted on waiting for Vortex. Luckily, the problem was easily fixed and we had another awsome time on the ride!. Found it better the second time (but it just gets better and better each time you do it). After that, my parents headed back to Port Atlantis while we grabbed another go on No way out just to satisfy sis. 12 yearolds... they want everything. After that we headed back to Atlantis, had something to drink and eat (just some crisps) we left.Highlights:Vortex, Quantom, No way out,Music and general audio around the park, friendly staff and good weather.Bad parts:no Rush or Time Voyagers all day, being played a song in the parks (which I badly want and the thorpe staff won't tell me what it is!) having to wait for problems to be fixed on Vortex and no water rides (but guess that's understandable!)
  14. Like who?. For me, it does not matter about what she has done, it's the fact she is leaving the kids behind which is upsetting. Perhaps because she was such a big part of big brother, that's why she gets so much attention
  15. I heard on the news this morning that Jade goody only has 8 weeks to live. I've been reading this from the start, doctorss had hoped they could cure her with a drug of some sort, but now that's been withdrawn. She is so young, and leaving behind 2 lovely kids, who are also just starting their lives. I just think it's so sad, I wonder how the kids will take it
  16. I don't think it's a case of the industry going down the drain, how ever I do think some parks really need work.Alton towers: Good, with major rides, a hotel and good park atmosphereBlackpool Pleasure beach:. Seriously needs work done to it, even though it's got some of the oldist rides in the UK. Prices are a mes, the park is a mess, and I generally think that it won't last much longer.Chessington: I think they've forgotten "World of adventures" and consontrated more on the zoo part. Last major atraction we saw was Dragons fury, and unless they work hard to get a new atraction out this year, then I think people will stop visiting the park.I can't comment on Draton mannor, I've never beenYou all seem to have forgot leggo land, obviously the worst theme park in the UK. with the exception of 2 or 3 atractions, it's a waste of money, and a waste of time going.Thorpe:. Lots of new rides, although less attention is payed towards the theming and upkeep of old atractions. Rides are always breaking down, some of the theming just goes with out thought of even brushing it up and it's surrounded by troublemakers

    Computers

Does anyone know anything about codex?. I'm trying to download one that will hopefully play some of my dvds that require special plugins for some reason. If anyone could help, that would be great.
  18. Will, what do you think they will put in it's place?. It was a huge mistake removing it, I would have thought that would be 1 of the few rides that they wouldn't tuch, as it's a nice kids ride and fits nicely in that area
  19. I wonder why not?. Everything else I wanted, with the exception of the MR Monkey music seems to be out there
  20. Does anyone have the music for the Terror toomb? Thanks
  21. I have a dog, and 2 snakes.Used to have a rabbit, but we gave it to someone else who would probably have more time for it
  22. It's not often I actually enjoy this ride, mainly because it's jut not the kind of thing I am in too!.My sister loves it, so if I do go on I hold on for dear life... and don't look back!Don't know why, but those type of rides always scare me

    Television

It's only celebrity Big brother, so once again very short. I do prefer the actual one in the summer, most of the people in the celebrity version I've never heard of.I'll tell you something anoying me at the moment, GMTV's return of MR Motivator, and his stupid diet plan... so anoying!.I watched Nanny Mcfee yesterday, have not seen that film for ages!
  24. Don't take my word, but last time I went you had to pay to get in, pay to go on valhalla, space invader and almost any other ride possible. I think they run on a tocan system, but it's been 2 years since my last visit
  25. Oh okay, had my hopes up that the terrible theming of the ride would have expired all ready. Guess I have to put up with it 1 more year, then hopefully expect Chessie to make major investment. What I don't want to be seeing is empty space, would prefer to see Chessington do what they did to the Bubbleworks last year, and keep it closed off until it's ready for the public.Of course, this might mean no access to the Vampire for a while, but that depends how big the new project will be
