  1. Because it's £30 cheaper than normal...
  2. Apparently the ride can take dual loading, but it was only single loading today? That could mean more boats added on more efficiently?
  3. This begs the question...Why weren't they using them!?
  4. Read the caption. It's just someone's idea of how'd they do it. I must say, that's a great edit they've done!
  5. Sweet, can't ever resist a good kebab.
  6. Meh, don't care if this is bringing back an old topic.Looking at the map, looks as if there's a new place to eat - Amity Kebab. Was that open today?
  7. A couple of seasons ago, I think 08 or 09, my nan was refused a yellow band because she didn't have a GP note. So that's been around a while. I think it was only physical disabilities at Thorpe last year too! But I think that was more to stop people with ADHD, or something similar, using the yellow band - if it was a severe mental disability, they allowed it.
  8. Not so much a bad visitor, just one conversation that I found funny..Nemesis Inferno queue:Some girl who;s obviously a bit worried: "Have you been on this ride before?"Some bloke: "Yeah."Girl: "What's it like?"*Bloke then acts as an information point, telling the girl every morsel of knowledge he knows about the ride.*Girl: "...But, what's it like?"
  9. If we want to go into what the site clearly states... Ride staff are therefore not there to assist disabled guests getting off rides.Personally, I think the "I dotn see why any more are needed frankly." is slightly cold, but that's my view.
  10. There are ways to prevent the Disabled rules being abused.Restricting the amount of people that can accompany a disabled guest is not one of them. Restricting who 'is' and 'isn't' disabled is a much better way about it. I'm all for a restrictive number of people on some rides. I don't feel that being allowed 7 other people on Rumba is justified, but neither is one. I'd say as a whole, 2 carers is adequate - 3 in some rides. If the park expects the carer(s) to be able to help the disabled person in a case of a break down, they need to have a suitable maximum number of carers. If the park would let 2 carers on some rides - they should say so on their website, otherwise it's just goig to put people off...
  11. Cool - thanks for clearing that up!
  12. Whilst no actual leaflet with all this year's info has been produced, it seems new rulings are on the website:http://www.thorpepark.com/plan-your-visit/disabled-guide.aspxNear the bottom, where it's got 'Helpers / Companions', we've got this:"Only one helper per disabled guest can use the access pass on any of our THORPE PARK rides and attractions."The entire section seems to be written as if there can only be 1 helper on a ride as well. Under Ride Access higher up, it says something about for safety reasons about the number of disabled guests, blah blah blah, you may have to divide into smaller groups - which is impossible if there's only 2 people, which could mean that there's a mistake made somewhere. Personally though, if they are limiting it to one helper per disabled guest, I think it's pretty stupid! So yeah, d'you think it is being limited to 1 person per disabled guest, or not?
  13. The Storm Surge thing isn't on the Top Trumps thing specifically - it's a general thing. When they're advertising it and all that. I'm not saying it's terrible or anything, and it doesn't really annoy me (and I highly doubt it annoys anyone else), it's just something an enthusiast will notice. Also, if they are going to round things, wouldn't it be better to round up? :PWhat does annoy some enthusiasts is when they'll get simple things wrong - what year rides open, top speeds etc. If they can't get things like that right on their own merchandise, it's a bit sad for the parks themselves, and a bit annoying for some enthusiasts.
  14. Looks like they've gone for the whole idea of 'a piece of art' than a means of navigation. I know that's been defended for Thorpe due to its size, but at Alton, I definitely think a navigable map should be used!
  15. I'm not saying it's tragic. I'm not saying the world is going to end. I'm not moaning. I'm just saying. It's just something I've picked up on; things like these are picked up on by enthusiasts. Sometimes, these things are just a bit stupid, and does annoy some people. Oh dear.

    Rita

Call me odd, but when I rode Rita, I enjoyed it. Okay, it isn't the smoothest thing ever, but it's smooth enough that it doesn't detract from the enjoyment of the ride. As for the layout, again, not a masterpiece, and it definitely felt as if it lacked something, but it was good. It's by no means great, it's just good.
  17. Oh noes, James could have possibly made a mistake! The world will end!!1!Besides, it's still wrong. Yeah, it's a little thing, but still. If you're going to make a product, may as well make it accurate? Especially with the Vampire thing, especially as they;re celebrating it's 21st birthday this year and making a deal out of it...
  18. Haven't seen the cards or anything yet, but yeah, there's always those little things that annoy you. Take Storm Surge. It's been advertised that it's 64ft / 19m. 64ft isn't 19m though, it's 19.5m I dunno what the inaccuracies are (speeds and heights I'd guess are the obvious ones?) but it would be nice if they could be accurate. Just because it's a game, doesn't mean they can be sloppy on things...

    Video Games.

I never get what all the fuss is to be honest. :unsure:They're never THAT much different. Slightly different plot, more Pokemon, better graphics. But that's it really? Give me Red, Blue or Yellow ANY day!
  20. Terrible internet connection, that's been 'fixed' three times in just over a week...
  21. Personally, education. It depends on what interests you I guess. I totally understand that some people want to get out of education ASAP because of what they like. But for me, I'm more interested in Maths, and the best way for me to explore that is through education. In my eyes though, I think if all you've got is GCSEs (ie - no apprenticeships, for NVQs (or whatever they're called), no A-Levels, no specialist training, etc.), then there's not much left to do unless you're highly talented. But that's just the way I see it I spose...
  22. And Loggers Leap is great with no restraints at all...Doesn't mean Saw would be though...
  23. I'm confident that if Thorpe stick to what we see at the moment, they will deliver some great pieces of theming. Thorpe aren't the greatest when it comes to converting paper into reality (and that's as a whole, not just with theming), but this seems to be the project that could change that. However, there's always a chance that the plans could change. Stealth, with the abolishment of the grandstand queue line. Saw, getting rid off the windmill. As long as that doesn't happen with LC12, and they convert what they're showing on paper to reality, then this will be very impressive!

    X

If X gets the attention it needs and gets a bit of modernizing, then it'd be great! The ride experience would be better and probably would draw in more crowds. However, with Thorpe not infilling in any more land and probably finish 'expanding onto them' in the next 10 or so years, it's days will probably be numbered then, in my eyes. This season will be interesting; new ride practically next to it, should become slightly more popular!
  25. Kung Fu Panda - Now in 3D(Okay, I wanted to be greedy and post 3 )
