  1. I believe a new temporary bridge from the left of the old level crossing by Samurai will take you straight to the queue line, so shouldn't require the Old Town area being used. Just the exit back towards Samurai which could all be easily cleared (they cleared the loggers queue every year anyway)

I actually quite liked the IMAScore tracks on Colossus and Inferno myself. Particularly the one they added into Inferno’s station; that was very atmospheric with all the drums and bass, in my opinion!

TBF I agree with that. The newer station one is excellent, and as far as I am aware still exists. But the Jungle tracks that played around the Inferno queue were just too slow and calming, which didn't suit the ride IMO

  3. Intrigued to find out peoples preferences. We've had the original music back at Inferno for the last couple of seasons and now Colossus recently.

Do people generally prefer the original tracks or the Imascore stuff?

For me I love the Imascore stuff around admissions and the dome but far prefer the original themes at Inferno and Colossus. The newer stuff was just too calming, less atmospheric for the ride and so didn't fit as well in my opinion.

  4. @WWTPRadio I thought the original plan was that the actual rides were going to keep the original themes (I'm sure there were tweets confirming that around the time you were working on the changes), but the surrounding areas would have the newer stuff ie lost city.

The newer music was not as dramatic. I welcome the change back to the originals.

However at admissions, the dome and on main pathways/areas I do like the newer stuff.

I am intrigued what people think and may ask for thoughts in the park music topic.

  5. Hey all,

A while since we last had a meet up in 2019!

As noted in the topic title the date has been set for Saturday 13th August 2022.

Meet from 9:30am - 10am in the dome outside Vibes. I recommend arriving nice and early if you can as security can sometimes take a while to get through and we will not be able to wait too long. I will be checking my Direct Messages (DM) every 15 mins for the first hour for late arrivals to get in touch and arrange meet up, but be aware we may be in a queue or on a ride.

Nearer the time I will recommend a time to book "Carnival in Trailers: Breakout at Bozo’sso that we can try to get a time slot for the whole group.

Other than that a very simple, chilled out day riding the rides and catching up with everyone. Should be fun!

The TPM meets are always great fun and the idea is to go round as a group getting to know each other, have fun and spend time with people who share the same interests. If you have never been to a meet before don't feel put off, we were all there once. Once you get there you'll feel a part of the group straight away. If you have any queries drop me a message or comment below.

Please confirm attendance below or DM me.

Both whole area, and both playing the old soundtracks

Very strange. Can hear it around 35 mins in the TPW vlog.

Is this an intentional change or just a mistake as it sounds like something used once before and they do sometimes incorrectly change

Talking about things returning wouldn’t it be awesome if Rocky Express is rethemed into a Circus Train. Thorpe could create a new Land themed around a Circus. This area could be a retheme of Angry Birds Land. Furthermore The Big Top could be located in this area. A Family Maze could be constructed within. Come October the Family Maze could be transformed into a Horror attraction for Fright Nights.

Carnival is just an event not a new land.

  8. Let's move it to 3 per ride or it'll be closed season again before it finishes!

    Angry Birds 4D Experience (3)

    Black Mirror Labyrinth (3)

    Colossus (3)

    Depth Charge (3)

    Detonator: Bomb's Away (3)

    Flying Fish (3)

King Pig's Wild Hog Dodgems (3)

    Lumber Jump (3)

    Mr. Monkey's Banana Ride (3)

    Nemesis Inferno (3)

    Quantum (3)

    Rocky Express (2)

    Rumba Rapids (3)

    Rush (3)

    Samurai (4)

    Saw - The Ride (3)

    Stealth (3)

    Storm in a Teacup (3)

    Storm Surge (3)

    The Swarm (3)

    Tidal Wave (3)

    Timber Tug Boat (3)

    Vortex (3)

    Zodiac (3)

    Samurai +1

Rocky Express -1 (sorry Theme Park Fanatic)

  9. The old music played all of last season as well but oddly had half the area wrongly programmed to blast out Angry Birds in the first part of this season, though the queue has always played it this year so far.

It has however recently just reverted on the exit path to the Imascore jungle mix.

But yes it's a far better track anyway. Just a shame the same hadn't happened to the colossus queue too.

  10. Thorpe is a one day park assuming you get there for opening. They have a pretty dire security queue to get in which could ruin your day if not there early (I'd recommend 45 mins before opening). As long as you are in the park within the first 15 minutes of opening you can usually get on 2 or 3 rides in the first hour. Just don't head to Swarm first, that tends to quiet down significantly around 3 to 4pm as most would have done it and tend not to return to the area once done as its a dead end. Even if queues are say 50 mins each doing the above you'd manage to get on all. It's very very rare I've ever done Thorpe on a relatively busy dahly and not got on everything and a couple of rerides in a day.

It does bring 3 new rides I suppose, even if 2 of them are only small junior flats. 3 rides is 3 rides though, and will spread the crowds more, even if just a little. 🤷‍♂️

We also have the two rides opening later this year. Only shame is ALL new attractions are low capacity, but it will certainly create more rides to spread crowds than now.

  12. We will look into potentially meeting up in the summer time and possibly Fright Nights, early on in the event.

Any meets we plan will be posted in similar fashion to before. Keep an eye out in the next month or two.

In the mean time If you are interested in meets resuming please let me know here so I can gauge interest.

  13. Very concerning to see over the last couple of seasons the capacity reduce on Tiger Rock. Had noticed for last two seasons gaps between boats in station during loading but today was on another level with just 11 boats in operation (it has around 26). I guess in fairness the ride is well over 30 years so it could be that some of the boats are coming to the end of their life but think they need to repair or replace. Some pics from in the station...

Storm Surge requires a minimum number of boats on the circuit to operate (this goes even for testing purposes). Effectively, the boats need to be nudged onto the conveyor belt, which can only practically happen when there's a certain number of boats.

This - I think - is the same for all of these boat rides made by WhiteWater West.

In that case it really is just a shame they can't send it more frequently of which I am sure I had heard there was a reason they don't though can't remember exact details.. The Parc Asterix one Oxygenarium regularly has 4 boats on the lift.

Anyway won't really affect me as with that pool of water in the boats I simply won't ride these days.

  15. Seems to be a theme of broken seats across park today.

-Four random seats out of action on Vortex

-One random seat out of action on Samurai

-Two seats out on one of Nemesis Inferno's train

-A storm Surge boat on the circuit taped off - Why they bother having more than 4 boats on this thing is beyond me, theres always 3 or more boats stacked before station, with lots of upset guests struggling to keep their feet out of the paddling pool in the boats

I mean of course i'd rather them be open but this is (bar Vortex) unusual for Thorpe at start of season (if at all tbh)

  16. Audio is a a bit of a mess at present. There's a High number of broken speakers and areas silent (though these speakers seem to work after hearing announcements), or playing incorrect audio. It's quite concerning given the almost parkwide overhaul of the speakers with the RFC replacement.

    - Nothing down the jungle area and outside Old Town BK

-Angry Birds playing across most of Jungle and half of Amity including SiaT.

    - Detonator audio not working, some great staff interaction though

    - vortex queue playing Lost City Imascore cuts in and out

    - no music working at Saw (speakers work for announcements)

-only one speaker appears to play the Rush queue audio.

    - Swarm queue no music

-extension area of Stealth not working (these have never worked since the overhaul)

Theres probably more but just some I've noticed in my couple of visits this last week and a bit.

Many of these speakers are looking a bit worse for wear as well with rust and stuff on them

  17. Swarm had its jets by the helicopter fixed for AP days and soaked the riders. Since then mist has appeared from the helicopter but the jets are near enough not working with them struggling to even reach 2 or 3 cm as it zooms past.

That said there is now mist working at the fire truck and the jets work just after the train passes.

Am I optimistic these will last? No. Every time over the last 4 years or so they've tried to repair effects they last a week or two.

Swarm Shop is also back open.

Wicker Man was reportedly on one train this weekend with the queue peaking at 150 minutes.

    Ouch.

Lots of controversy this evening. They closed the ride well before park close claiming there isn't enough lighting in the area.
