  1. It was the first time it was noticeable this year, it did it for over a minute, which I agree is fun when on the ride (especially as everyone else thinks it is broken down) but when waiting in a 40 minute queue it gets kind of annoying.
  2. I went on the first saturday of last years event and it was actually very quiet and we had ridden all rides by 3pm and then got on all 4 mazes by about 7:30pm. I even got 8 rerides (had to exit train and then walked straight through gate near the baggage hut) on Stealth at around 9:30pm which has never happened for me ever. I am planning to go the first saturday again this year.
  3. I have never been able to hear any audio when I have ridden Storm Surge. Personally I think they should just play the Tidal Wave loop of WWTP radio
  4. The red water cannons in the queue line were being used today, read earlier in the topic that they were removed, they must have been put back in, the black ones that charge people are also still there.
  5. Great day overall at Thorpe Park today, was good atmosphere around the park. All rides were available but several small period ride closures throughout the day (Tidal Wave, Quantum, X\\ No Way Out and Loggers Leap) which were sorted out very quickly. Was an accident on the Battle Beams side attraction, guy was laying down and given oxygen by the on park first aid crew/paramedics, didnt manage to find out what happened as the four security guards that stood there were moving everyone along but they were with him a good half hour.Queue lines overall were not too bad. Longest queue I saw was 80 minutes for Storm Surge but generally for most rides queued between 15 mins and 40 mins. The longest I queued all day was 60 minutes for Saw. Nice to see preparation under way nice and early for Fright Nights with the Curse Marquee already up and Time Voyagers closed.Got on all rides with the exception of Storm Surge and Detonator.I do have two negative comments for the day:1.the chaos that everyone has to experience every day in the car park at the end of the day. It honestly took 30 minutes to get out of the car park. as it is so slow with the barriers and cars along the main road leading to them being blocked so you cannot get out onto it. They really need to rethink the layout of the car park as this has been a problem for two years now.2. The staff on Vortex around 4 o clock were letting the riders board the ride and then having a chat for at least two minutes before coming to get us to put arms out for the restraints to lower. This happened on every ride I saw whilst queueing and mine, which added a good 10 minutes to the queuing time.
  6. I just love Samurai at the moment, it has seemed so much more forceful and intense the last few times ive been on it.Just thought id also mention that it was having problems finding its zero position (aligning itself to lower) today.
  7. Have to agree with those saying it is rough, not enough leg room and come off with a bit of a headache. This happens every time for me and therefore takes away the pleasurable side of it. The only part I do enjoy if I havent got a major headache or cramp from the lack of leg room in the back section of a carriage are the inline twist. Definitely my least favourite major coaster at Thorpe.
  8. The mazes usually open at 4pm and no they won't be open during the 5pm close days, these will just be standard days. The only maze that will be open will be the year round Saw Alive.
  9. I haven't this year but I have been a fair few times in the past with it only on 1 train operation.
  10. Shocking that it is nearly 10 years old! I still remember when I visited and saw the first drop being built and thought "wow, that is huge".When I rode it on Thursday in the second carriage/third row it was much rougher than I had experienced earlier on in the year when I actually thought it was a little smoother than before. Personally it is my least favourite coaster and I always avoid sitting in the back row of a carriage as I always get cramp due to lack of leg room.
  11. Didn't see anything like that on Thursday.
  12. Good day at Thorpe Park today. Park wasn't busy for August at all, longest queue (that I queued for) was 40 minutes for Storm Surge and I think 60 minutes was the longest I saw all day (Colossus and Saw up until about 3pm). Most rides we queued for 20-25 minutes including Saw which for me was very unusual. Saw Alive, No Way Out, Loggers Leap, and Rumba Rapids all had less than 10 minutes wait when I went on them.Only problem was almost every Queue time board was wrong throughout the day, normally they are fairly accurate.Staff were brilliant today, almost everyone smiled and made the day that little bit better.Park music not brilliant in places today. No music at all in Stealth area except for the speakers that have been put in at The Swarm advertising area, Tidal WWTP very low volume, Colossus Very Low volume, Depth Charge silent, Annoying bird tweeting Queueline music for Samurai which I have only heard once last year I think. And my goodness I can now see what people mean about Canada Creek, the music there is awful compared to the old Country playlist. On a plus, Detonator, Nemesis Inferno and Samurai ride area loud.I like the gradual changes to X:\\ No Way Out but not as good as people have made out in my opinion.Overall a good day and was nice to not have to rush about.Sorry but no pictures so I'm afraid its a poor trip report compared to the last few brilliant ones
  13. They must be spending so much money on Skyride as of late. Almost every season it has a massive chunk of downtime.
  14. Greatly missed ride. I remember having a strop when I was a touch too small to go on this. And then over the moon the next time I went as I could go on it.
  15. Maybe quieter than later on in the holidays but, I think if I ran a theme park a 50 minute queue would warrant the use of a third train and try to get it ready for the whole of the school holidays, especially the summer holidays.
  16. Vampire not doing well this year at using 3 train op. As soon as someone says it is running 3 trains a day or two later it is back to 2!Must have been a technical hitch with the jets on Rameses for them to have it off on a hot day. Hope that gets sorted soon as it's never the same without.
  17. They tried the adverts thing a couple of years ago and it didn't last long hopefully the same will happen. The events only a couple of days away so hopefully that will be the end of it or they will probably advertise Sun Scream.
  18. That theme in my post above is the theme that played up until 2006, no other music has played on the ride unless you went at halloween and are thinking of this . 2007 onwards it has used it's current theme which is from Scream at Heide Park.
  19. It is on Thorpe Park Mania's audio section and is called Detonator - Theme 2006 Loop
  20. I think it is safe to say that reliability has been good since 2010 now. Basically since they stopped the february openings.
  21. The article on MSN about this has a picture of Stealth, but is talking of Tsunami at M&Ds. Some people may look at the picture and think it is Stealth that had the problem! http://news.uk.msn.com/uk/articles.aspx?cp-documentid=158480062
  22. In my opinion, with the limited age group I cannot see this being to popular. This would work really well if all age groups could go or if it was over 18s.
  23. Definatley cool, I've never seen a video like that before. Hopefully more rides around the world start doing these.
  24. I could hardly hear myself think with the guy on the PA today. I highly doubt it has been turned down unless the op is now shouting through the microphone!
  25. Went to Chessington today. All rides I went to were walk on - 5 mins except for Dragon's Fury which was about 15 mins due to 3 adults max per car rule. Was very surprised at how dead it was and I reckon without the school groups it would have almost been desserted. All rides closed at 1:30pm due to th massive thunderstorm which was right over the park and had the loudest strike of lightning I have ever heard in my life. We then left at 2pm as we couldn't see rides reopening any time soon.
