The Smiler
Towers Street have just posted a photo of a pump truck on site - reported drainage issues at the bottom of the lift hill. Facepalm.

The Smiler
Post and photo on TTF shows work being done on the vertical lift hill. Again. All I know is, when I go on 22nd October, I am heading straight for the Smiler queue with it's current track record

The Smiler
Smiler... currently closed... yada yada... EDIT: Maybe it's closed as they need to remove that extra "N" from "Innoculator"
-
The Smiler
Smiler is closed again - apparently never opened this morning...

Chessington General Discussion
Just reading some of the horror stories on Facebook posted by guests - 2 rides in a days visit, cracking! Mentions of 4 rides being down - RMT, RR... what else?

Fright Nights 2013
Puppets are freaky and creepy full stop. Bring it on!
-
Fright Nights 2013
Nor have I (sadly) - couldn't go to Fright Nights last year! I really hope that FN's 2013 are a return to the glory years - more park wide audio, roaming actors, lights and dry ice please
-
The Smiler
Yep I think the Smiler has been behaving recently... It's got until 22nd October to sort itself out

Fright Nights 2013
Agree completely but if a bit of video helps "set the scene" then it can be good - trouble is the whole group you are with has to be "into it" to get the full benefit! I'm really intrigued what Thorpe Park has in store for this year - as much as I love E10 (and Asylum) - if they are removed/changed/rebranded for the better than I am all for it. Would top off a generally positive season for the park
-
Fright Nights 2013
Yep that really took me by surprise - and the isolation rooms were a nice touch too I didn't go on E10 last year but I understand it wasn't quite as good. I'm sure there will be some sort of big reveal tonight by Thorpe Park - then maybe one maze a week or every couple of days!
-
Fright Nights 2013
The SAW contract expires at the end of this season I believe - I really can't see it not being renewed at the end of the season so yes, would make sense to tie in mazes with Lionsgate films I'll be a tad upset if there's no Experiment 10 as I really liked that maze. (Welcome to the forum by the way!)

Alton Towers - How Busy Will It Be?
We're using two of the Sun free entry tickets (well, we actually bought them off eBay because I'd rather poke my eyes out with sticks than read The Sun ) - are these valid for ERT?

Alton Towers - How Busy Will It Be?
Roll on the 22nd October Last year we didn't stay late as we only stayed in a Travelodge for one night (before) so this year can have a full day on park as we are staying 21st & 22nd

Alton Towers - How Busy Will It Be?
Hi Fred - schools aren't off on 22nd Oct are they?

Legoland
When I went to Legoland with my other half in June, we witnessed an attempted queue jump - by a group of obvious traveller kids on the Boating School ride. They were "trying to find their mum in the queue" apparently - us, a particularly annoyed woman and her husband behind, and a group of Indian chaps succeeded in not letting them get past - and when we got to the front, the woman informed the Ride Op what they had done - and the Ride Op then checked with us quietly to check she was telling the truth - he was a bit gutted that we backed up the story because he knew what he was about to have to deal with, the poor chap! Needless to say, after we pulled away in our boat, we didn't see another boat behind us for the entirety of the ride - reason being the kids were kicking off on the loading platform and refused to leave. We really really felt for the poor guy who was operating the ride but fair play for not letting them ride

Alton Towers - How Busy Will It Be?
We're off to AT on 22nd October - am I right in saying most schools are off the week after? I'm guessing it should be one of the quieter (quietest?) days to go during Scarefest?

The Smiler
Anyone else think it's a bit concerning that Alton Towers haven't made an official word on the closure - or put anything on Twitter (unless I've missed it)... could it be something serious?

The Smiler
I'm supposed to be going to Alton in October, wonder if The Smiler will be fine by then?

Stealth Ice Cream Shower Photo Shoot
Was just saying to Mr. Fish - I'm not sure if photo 5 is me next to planenut at the front - there was one ride near the start where he ended up at the front and I filled the seat next to him Can't believe they used a pic with an empty train! EDIT: Don't think it is me, t-shirt is too yellow Is it Fish?

X
Rode X yesterday for the first time since it's "rebirth" - have to say, with the funds available I am quite impressed, and has certainly breathed a bit of life into what was an odd ride... thumbs up from me. Particularly like the light effects in the queue line tunnels, and the ride itself certainly suits the new "family orientated" Thorpe.

Stealth Ice Cream Shower Photo Shoot
The Loggers & Rocky combo was another highlight of the day for me! Never have I been so drenched on Loggers - Complete and utter face full of water EDIT: There's a handful of photos on my Facebook too - but no people in them mind you

Rush
Appeared to be back on 2 swings today

Stealth Ice Cream Shower Photo Shoot
I've just got back to Portsmouth - alas no free ice cream for us but there was a group photo in the fake snow shower after our many rides on Stealth pluk - worry ye not, despite us being the first rides of the morning, and us being on 20+ trains, not one rollback happened. Good fun in the Swarm queue that started out as 15 mins and ended up being nearly an hour because of an E-Stop, a V*-Stop and a technical fault. I'm pretty shattered and I only did Stealth about 10 times and left about 3pm, so you lot still on park will be shattered by hometime! Another fab opportunity and day out thanks to TPM and Thorpe Park - well done to all concerned! (Oh, and - I really like the new X. First time on it, impressed with that they've done!) * "essential cleaning"
