As per my Facebook status yesterday - Rock Rage was down on Southsea seafront (I was 99% certain it was Rock Rage when seeing them set up from a far during the week but couldn't be sure as they normally advertise when Rock Rage is in attendance) - anyway, we missed the cheap rides on Friday (99p! Bit different to Winter Wonderland ) - went down yesterday and it was £3, but I had to chicken out, getting too old for the spinny churny vommy rides. It does fascinate me to watch though

So normal queue, Reserve queue AND Fastrack queues?
Can instantly predict that having all 3 together won't work at all...

Yes, they have removed all the dodgy animations bar the exploding dynamite shack and (what remains of) the rope climbing man.
HOWEVER, the man that used to sit at the top on a barrel has returned completely refurbished and in a new position, now looking even more frightening in a stack of dynamite. The legs in the barrel have also returned in a new position. Perhaps the sleeping Mexicans will come back soon as well.

Well 1 whole day is pretty good.

As much as Ceebeebbiibbiieess turned out alright I'm always going to miss the farm, and those rickety wobbly old squirrel nutty cars would still be a massive improvement on gerstlauers finest efforts.

Even Disney couldn't get FastPass+ to work perfectly, that doesn't really provide much hope that a Merlin park can do it better...
The idea is to get people to spend more time spending on other things (I.e. merch, food, games, etc), but the issue is more that there isn't that much to do of those things or anything else at Thorpe (as Fred already pointed out)... It's not like at Towers were you could spend your time between rides walking to said ride, or indeed spend time in the Gardens, or find a sit-down restaurant, or ride one of the many rides that never gets a queue... Even Chessie has the zoo to wander around to waste time between rides...
That's more the issue tbh, that's there's not a lot for the guests to do in between waiting for the next slot... All it will do at Thorpe is move coaster queues into other ride queues because that's kinda all there is to do at the park...

Stealth was very efficient today, so efficient that the crew broke the through put record.

It does seem like Slammer will eventually be opening, perhaps in the near future.

How so?
We've got the 'Island like no other' tag line and the park are trying to create an atmosphere which feels special. Hearing the music being played makes me feel like I'm going to a magical place, builds the excitement up, and so forth. I genuinely think that listening to that music will make people think they are on an island like no other.
Even if you think it doesn't suit current-day Thorpe, surely you would agree it suits more than The Noise?

Sorry, but any theme park playing chart music is instantly rendered a cheap knock-off travelling fair - there's no sense of escapism, adventure or excitement. Why on earth would a theme park record the music in the first place? There may have been a time when it suited Thorpe (if you think that), but that time (if indeed it ever existed) is over. It just makes the place sound like any old place you can hear chart music... like on the radio in the car in the traffic jam on the way to Thorpe. How exciting.

That entrance sign really annoys me how the 'Land' park isn't in the same style as the rest of it...
As Fred said, this is Lightwater levels of quality, and Raptor Attack certainly looks higher build than this...
And just because it's for kids, does that excuse the quality? Look at the likes of Seuss Landing and quite a few other areas for kids which are of higher standards...
