  1. Distinct lack of poodle images in that post.
  2. Stayed on site and the hotels are of good quality. Actually pay for what you get (though it is annoying that you have to add tickets on top of it as well). They are popular too but might be that the cheaper one (El Anduluz) is sold out. Depends what you're after end of day. But as mentioned there are lots of b&bs around.
  3. There's so much of the park you could bin. Depth Charge, Beach, Storm Surge, X:/TWD, DBGT for starters opens up a MASSIVE chunk of area. Especially if you include Slammer as well. Making the entrance actually appealing should be their next step. Every time I see pics of it it looks awful. This in turn would work with demolishing Depth Charge and the beach and making a big plaza area with stage and food options. Bit like the temporary stuff at Towers recently. Then get a good dark ride and high throughput water ride that's actually good. Oh, and a Top Spin. Preferably indoors.
  4. More U-turns than a Tory government.
  5. The thing is with The Ultimate was did it have the reputation because it was good or in spite of itself? The lift hills took FOREVER. The first half was dull as anything. The second half in the woodland was complete madness. It really was poorly designed and constructed. Lived off bashing knees in for years. And for being an unique experience within the UK. But it really wasn't an incredible ride.
  6. Just pick a page in the Zamperla catalogue like every other park does. An Air Race instead of Zodiac is the first idea that comes to mind. Doesn't help that the best flat ride has been demolished.
  7. The king is dead: https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/people/yorkshires-most-famous-rollercoaster-the-ultimate-at-lightwater-valley-once-longest-in-world-to-be-dismantled-3982243 Shame, but they were on a lose lose situation with it clearly. Certainly an unique loss to the UK industry but it wasn't well known for being good.
  8. Trying to figure out if £45k is good or poor for that role.
  9. For sure, just a lot is showing its age atm. And when you've got a big new project and no additional support rides coming in to help the crowds in the area. Just seems there's too much obsession with roller coasters. Dark Rides would also help but after DBGT........ Also looks like someone forgot to lock the door after we briefly got rid.
  10. Thorpe (and Towers) used to be really good on the flat ride front. Alas I think with the whole "new rides must have an USP" approach; gone are the days where parks would add 1 or 2 small flats on the quiet years. Only time that happens now it seems is when got some going cheap from another Merlin property. Chessie gets more flat ride investment!
  11. This can also be filed under "posts that could be from 10 years ago". Single rider on Inferno in mid 2000s was fantastic fare.
  12. Sounds like every annoying person who plays the "I know something you don't know" card for Internet points.
  13. Surely a Psychic would KNOW if there was a boat ride at Alton Towers? Don't think she was very good at her job.
  14. I know some care but not even done it and my reaction is complete non-caring.
  15. Do you just look at rides that were removed by parks and declare they'll put them in even though they've been closed for 15 years? Easy to solve the flat ride problem. Buy some new ones that are suitably themed and not just rented funfair attractions. Plenty of manufacturers to choose from.
  16. Being updated to have you ride Rocky Express after the first VR section.
  17. Someone should've nipped it all in the bud AGES ago. Reported it enough times.
  18. Exodus sponsorship confirmed. Can reuse the old Dragon's Fury audio to save on money too. "WOAHHHH YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE COME THIS WAY!"
  19. From that angle the track looks wonky. Hopefully that's not a holding brake. Not many enjoy the vest restraints in the first place.

    Gotta replace Ripsaw somehow.

The Duel retheme is far more important. Who cares about a brand new B&M?

It could be highlighter pink and I wouldn't care because at least Nemesis gets to continue living in some aspect. Didn't there used to be smoke around the final inversion with the bus? Memory has gotten hazy over the years.
  23. Two very different rides with similarities ud say. I mean Haunted House rides tend to follow a number of cliches after all. Would be sheer laziness for them to use an ancient prop older than half the current forum users. If it even survived. Has the Ripsaw cabin use even been confirmed or just pure conjecture on someone's part because it's a similar looking vehicle?
  24. They're spending time on treating the Rocky removal with the correct reverence it deserves. And maybe trying to work out if they can fit Apocalypse in there too.
  25. Depends really. I don't think Bubbleworks could be duplicated across the world (I would wager it heavily inspired a previous attraction at Pleasure Island though) as it was very British in its humour. Rides like PotC and Haunted Mansion practically became archetypes in the ride world. Again its somewhat hard to compare against some of the most well known (and beloved) dark rides in the entire world. Also have to factor in the nostalgia of them (plus enduring badly refurbished versions of them for years). As I mentioned before, 5th Dimension would've been extremely dated by the time it even closed, and the Terror Tomb finale was incredibly cheesey. Worked in the 90s but certainly not a timeless classic. Definitely a shame the Haunted House ride system wasn't more utilised compared to the Omnimover system. Similarly for 5th Dimension's one too but I think costs and methods of implementing those systems were trickier to do (the reset times on HH especially so, reason why Ghost Corridor didn't last long). @Theme Park Fanatic you are 23 and should know better about posting personal data which you STILL haven't edited (nor have any mods seemingly jumped in either to remove the information). Especially with the amount of spam bots on here currently.
