Nah, Mystery Mine is pretty fab (although some of the cornerning was done via a set-square), and as for Fluch... One poor example of a ride type does not mean they are ALL awful... Unfortunately, the worst version is the most ridden one here...

Seeing this thing in real-life is beyond what the photos show, cannot comprehend how tangled the mess of track is (and how huge the site/track are)... It looks fab <3

Erm... Ok then... Care to explain this because I don't get why a support slightly cutting through a roof of another building is anything to care or worry about. Not difficult to ensure that the existing unmoveable building isn't affected by the actions of the ride supports (I.e. Vibration, stress, etc)... I look forward to seeing this with my own eyes today...
  4. Out of that list, only not ridden 4 (though the Magic Carpet would be 5), which really only 2 of them I could've actually ridden (being Eclipse and Terror Tomb)... 5th Dimension and Space Station Zero never existed on my visits, hence to me, they never actually existed in my lifetime...
  5. The ground is constantly shifting, hence why repaving is a complete patchwork (key examples are the field by Fury and the entrance to Trail of the Kings)... It's REALLY bad but something the park cannot control...

It looks awful as said... So in a way, it suits Rita to a tee, as that ride is awful in both a visual and physical sense...

That Corkscrew transition is VILE... Gerstlauer are the new Vekoma confirmed...

I don't think people avoiding spoilers in that video should be worried, indeed, if you were to watch it now, the feeling of potential disappointment at Chessie getting the absolute minimal budget will occur long before actually experiencing the ride... It's really unfinished, it's quite bad really, I can forgive the lack of foliage as this is a common problem with most new rides anyways (this moreso as it was literally, a field beforehand, making the contrast even higher)... But still... Final verdict will of course be given on ride, but it looks like it's gonna be another wasted chance from that POV... Especially with a pre-recorded voice...
  9. Love how Fanta was ghastly and no-one ever cared about the Coke sponsorship logo (in regards to Rehydrator based times)... Not a fan of it being the Smiler logo though, let the rides be separate please...
  10. Ermmmm, yeah, of course I can book a day off work and take my child out of school to go to a theme park... A right shame as the AP are ALWAYS popular and busy at Chessie... Not a great start to the season really... A lot of the park needs resurfacing and a LOT of it needs redeveloping in general, need a HUGE investment in infrastructure, but it just seems like the parks have all suddenly gone really behind on what they're doing with work on new things...

Effects were working well? Not the water splashes that's for sure, seems the only effect is the fire which half the time fails to ignite (a shame because it is awesome)...

Det is SUCH a good drop tower... So, so good...
  13. I'd buy that shirt quicker than some enthusiasts running to an open Stealth...
  14. That music was originally from Tomb's first indoor queue (Bazaar)... Used in Sea-Life tunnel as well, but that's the origins of it...

Yes, it was that long... 1 train op </3 Special mention MUST go to the pair of ANGRY GOONS at the start of the day who had a go at the staff for not letting them on the backwards section... It was utterly embarrassing to see and it gives enthusiasts a REALLY bad name... You are not wanted at these parks if you're going to treat staff like crap just because you can't be the first people to go backwards... So glad I spent the day with a group of enthusiasts who just love the social side and don't care about being the first riders or whatever...

It looked crap since day 1... An embarrassing investment for ANY park...
  17. Yay Inferno... Basically Stealing Chessie's music though </3 (Tomb Blaster queue)

Mraws is really not that massive a thing in the end, indeed, first drop aside, the ride experience differs very little... 1 hour 15 minutes queue from behind the control box is however, an embarrassing situation to have, one train or not... Mark9 is actually right, a lot of effort for really, a minimal difference... I liked it mind, but it doesn't change much, I'll prefer to queue for normal depending on the situation they decide (3 staff members said 3 different things about the method of backwards queuing)... The near-misses of course are now pointless backwards (the billboard is surprisingly good though, especially with the bonus chopper for the left side), and it's no more intense or forceful in either direction... I fear the queues will be awful though... If the station is 1 hour 15 minutes ish on one train on what was an empty day, I would DREAD the weekend...
  19. For comparison purposes, here's the interior of Tower's major Burger Kitchen...

  21. Referring to Bubbles' pink with blue/yellow/red trim... And if you think THAT'S bad you haven't seen the shop interior yet...
  22. Looks fine, it's part of the village, rather than the cauldron which was a castle (meaning the place had two castles in the area, LOL LOGIC!)... Think we're over-reacting slightly... Although the interior lack of theming is a valid disappointment... Such is the way of brand recognition (yes, look how similar this is to other Burger Kitchens in the Merlin chain)... The old buildings looked tired, and this looks TONNES better than what's behind the photographer...

I love how the Depth Charge exit goes straight into a Fastrack booth now Kinda just sums up Thorpe don't it?

But why would Thorpe, a park aimed at extreme thrills decide to change one of their coasters to be more inclusive of a family market? Is it because they've realised the family market is more profitable now?!
