Damn Chessie, closing the park because it was busy and only had a maximum amount of people it could let in!
Some of the outrage you see on Facebook, is rather pathetic... "Oh I queued ages for this ride", it's a theme park, it will be busy... End...
Remember taking my uni mates on it (one of whom hadn't done a ride before at all before that day) and they were both pretty amazed by the whole thing...
Seeing someone look so confused and grip onto the lapbar in fear was amazing <3
Most of the people who moan on FB shouldn't be allowed to have an opinion...
If people complain because a park is busy, well maybe they shouldn't go to these places... Especially if people expect Thorpe to ever be empty...
It's not running properly though, they're turning seats BACKWARDS!
Also, why do it on a Wednesday morning when most people will be at work? I mean I'm fortunate in that I might be able to get away with grabbing some tickets at that time, but not everyone will be able to...
Thorpe's services to guests do leave a lot to be desired at times...
Coaster trains aren't THAT difficult to push actually, I've pushed the Vampire trains a few times (empty AND full) and due to the design it's all about getting that little bit of extra starting momentum to get it going...
When Stealth gets stuck, it only needs a wee push in either direction to go down...
And the latest pics on FB show it's still there...
Taken by Thorpe themselves...
Just checking the track really, nothing actually special as it's typical of maintenance of track based objects, checking visually for cracks and the like...
That zipwire is used for access to the top, will forever be there...
Fair, though knowing my experience with most American variations of our European ones, I'd take Europe every day of the week...
There's something about bland, unthemed, highly generic rides which just never sits right with me...
Not really, Oblivion's length comes mostly through the 180ft odd drop and tunnel, it's extremely minimal but the height factor means that the length is actually reasonable...
Smiler also has a second lift hill, automatically making it take longer...
