I truly hate football right now... Utter, utter joke, and the punchline is Roy Hodgson...

Can we blame Thorpe (or say, any park) if a ride is truly borked? If they're waiting for a part from Utah then that's a problem slightly beyond their reach for Rush... Slammer is gone, there's no point crying over it's non-existence anymore... I wouldn't be surprised if Rumba was being closed at dusk (it wasn't before if I recall) since the incident at Drayton, like yeah I enjoy putting the boot into Thorpe a fair amount of time, but when there are valid(ish) reasons behind ride closures, then more fool those who moan and still visit the park in these times...
-
Yep, clearly the park are deliberately removing rides that were a pain to constantly fix, or breaking them so that they're closed over their busiest period... Fright Nights is/was hell when the park had all those attractions anyway...

The Golden Tickets are the biggest sham awards going, wasn't it about 4 years ago that Roland was chair of IAAPA? Slight coincidence no?
-
What might not seem bad on the floor is VERY different when 50/100 feet up... Especially given that a ride stalling caused a massive accident the company still haven't recovered from...
-
Not much the parks can do when it's weather related though?
-
To be fair, if you're doing a ride per hour, plus an hour for lunch, then going to Miniland and watching shows combined with general faff, people only doing 6 rides in a day isn't outside the realms of possibility... Still a stupid thing to mention though...

And still better than anything at Chessie...
-
DIC were the idiots, since they completely ran the parks into the ground worse than Merlin have ever tried to...
-
Jeez no more Toytown pond... That truly was the last vestige of the classic Chessie...

Since when has Land of the Dragons been Asian? There's nothing wrong with having two Asian areas as long as they are distinctly different (India and China/Japan/Singapore are vastly different cultures) so I've never had much issue between the two areas... Of course with Tiggers being added the two areas might become one massive one mind...

Least there was one sensible commenter... Perhaps if the angle was "HOLY CRAP WE SPENT HOW MUCH?!" then I might have sympathy, instead it truly is "Man is an idiot" instead... £60 on the gate for Legoland is disgusting mind...

Advertisements are based upon your own browsing habits... One assumes you've watched the IT trailer or looked up for tickets... Plus WB can target advertising to all FB users between certain limits, so I doubt there's anything CONSPIRACY about that...

Even worse than ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! ???

Some of this post is dreadful... I don't think there is any park in the entire world which had the budget Animal Kingdom had when built (it quite possibly still is the most expensive park ever built)... Given that Chessie was the first real attempt at a theme park in the UK, and has spent particularly the last decade being butchered to bits, it's astounding how much of the place still stands across many of the areas... Original Bubbles being a half baked idea is honestly the worst thing I've ever read on this forum... I suggest watching the Dark Ride Archive video on it, because I'm just astounded by the ignorance of it... Half baked? Bubbles is perhaps THE ride that captured the minds and hearts of every single UK enthusiast... The park is almost definitely trading on nostalgia, but surely that shows that when people were growing up, it struck an immense chord to the visiting public? Unfortunately it never truly left the 90s...

The world's first barrel in Merlin HQ surely doesn't have a base anymore given another vigorous scraping?

>Is claustrophobic >Goes on attraction which involves sitting in a tight area Could've been worse, being trapped in Weymouth itself is bad enough... I'll sure they'll be talking about this for ages (they still go on about how Harry Styles was there filming Dunkirk)...

Oh the irony... Guess since there's already been a number of Walking Dead attractions across the globe (many people here even going on one), and a show that has had a fair wave of popularity (but seemingly has lost a fair number of viewers over last season), and zombies being unbelievably cliché in terms of Halloween events there's no real surprise that there is some distinct lack of hype for some... Just resetting the IP button does not an event make... Roaming actors aren't new (and will probably be dull since zombies can't interact in terms of the series), the cinema thing isn't new (I can't even remember when that last happened), and I bet the park will still not have any real effort be put into decoration (which only Chessie really do anyway)... It's strange how Thorpe are addicted to IPs like this, yet Towers doesn't need one for Scarefest and seemingly has put out original high quality mazes for a few years now... I do half expect the indoor maze to be similar to the other ones found at Universal and Movie Park Germany... And it's a strange choice to have as a thing which will only get any real appreciation from avid watchers of the show like any IP really, but as many of these things tend to lack THOSE characters of time with them (whoever the man with the bat is for example, or CORALLLL), means that you're kinda just left with generic Zombie horror for everyone not picking up on details? Thorpe probably didn't help themselves with the overhype of this, though that is a Merlin trait rather than uniquely their own misgivings...

Cost effectiveness, need more storage, Intamin system isn't very good (it's MEANT to stack?)...

MUSTARD INSTEAD OF RED?
-
Thorpe's (or any park engineering team) I believe are on standard contracts so get a proper wage rather than an hourly one (I too looked into it a few years ago now)... Average you're looking at for a mech eng is around £25-30k... I'd assume most of Thorpe's are at the lower end (or less depending on experience)... Might be an idea to keep an eye on Blooloop for any theme park (or leisure industry) jobs going...

Throughput races between Griffins and Peeking
-
Given that Mack already bettered the Mega-Lite layout, a better version of JOYvelen is a happy prospect indeed...
-
Who honestly cares that Peeking Heights goes? The ridership was so low in general it's not exactly going to take anything out of the day... Was utter turd for it's duration...
-
Probably needed to get rid of something to cut costs, Face It Alone is clearly the easiest thing to get rid of as it stops the requirement to hire actors for longer (as well as whoever else would be around for it)...
