I went to Thorpe park today, But left before I could enter the park! When we arrived at 9:50 we were greeted by a full car park or should I say coach park! I knew it would be full of school trips, but I really didnt expect that many, especially for that time of day! My dad needed a new annual pass because it had expired, so we went to the annual pass kiosk, and the queue to get one was nearly 2 hours. We waited 5 minutes without the queue moving in the slightest so we decided to go to Chessington instead were they seem to treat you as a paying customer rather than no.12335! I thought this queue by thorpe park was ridiculus because I knew within 60 minutes they would have changed there annual pass office into a ticket handout/come back later, and queue all over again. We were not having this! You would have thought Thorpe park could learn from chessington and Alton but apparently not! Whatever you do don't go to thorpe park when there is a teachers strike on! I excpect queues because its summer and school trip season BUT not that much of a queue!

Just before you think I am stereotyping I am not because I am 15 years old, I hate teenagers in general. It back me up my views because I just got back from a trip from thorpe park and chessington today! Full of annoying school kids!

Simply the 14-16 year old teens, they always seem to look like they own the park. With there swearing and pushy attitude.

I have discovered that Alton towers will be using the forbidden valley exit, after the Black Eyed Peas concert. I suggested this a while back for the fireworks and pink concert, obviously great minds think alike lol! It will be interesting to see how it will operate, guests will be tempted to go on other rides and may be tempted to stay longer because of the distance to the exit!

Yeah it is rather slow throughput, but when I was a Terra Mitica I kept thinking, Chessington and Alton have sonic and dragons why does not thorpe park have the top thrill comparison!? So it is about the same as Sonic spinball for throughput!

I am supprised to see nothing in the MTDP about the space previously used for the safari ride in ranger county, I thought the space is just right for a 4th dimension coaster, because something like that is cheap (In ride terms) and gives the right effect towards the target audience of thorpe park. If you don't know what I mean, something like Inferno at Terra Mitica. The space is useless at the moment and thats the only sort of ride I think that could fit in there! I don't understand the logic in building new Islands elsewhere when they have good land 'still' to use. Obviously Major rides are different but for MTDP, it surly would make sense?

Easter sunday was an odd day because it was the unofficial Gypsy weekend, they had a gypsy cart race a few miles away on saturday and they all came to visit Alton on the sunday! I have never seen Alton look so strange! The girls from years 6-21 all had 6 inches of makeup, 6 inche high heels, alot of them wore next to nothing and the women/wifes wore amazing colourfull evening dresses, I believe they do this because its a 'special event' (the gathering of gypsy's) The park was busy but the queues were no more than 45 minutes and got on everything, got on th13teen 3 times is a row which was good during ERT (Rita was broken so they opened th13teen)The park was full of police officers probably because of the problems they have had with gypsy people in the past, apparantley they caught one couple having sex in there car and one of the boys hopped the fence at air and went into the restricted area! It didnt feel right, all the extra security made it feel like thorpe park fright night, overall it was a good day except for the gypsy boys that liked to queue jump and were very rude to many staff!Easter monday was unbelievable I got on ALL rides by 3pm and went home at 4pm because we were stumped on what to do! the queues got to a maximum of 20 minutes and most major rides were 5-15 minutes.I thought the staff were very friendly, BUT it seems alot of the staff don't enforce the queue jumping and smoking rules! I only saw a few staff actually take control, but good to them!Overall a good day and I want to do gypsy weekend again, because the day was so colourful, and it felt like there was a special event on!(I just want to point out this does not mean I dont like gypsy's I'm just stating my trip, I love the gypsy parents we were having a lovely discussion with a family but the kids can be right pains in the...!)

356 tickets usually do good dealsBut I would book in advance if I were you, don't buy from ebay though, I personally dont mind buying tickets from the site but port aventura check both your ticket signature and your passport signature, we got caught out with that last year, luckily the signatures matched ours!

To be serious, stealth could be sponsored by Pirelli/bridgestone tyres!Air could be by someone like british airways.Infact amity cove could be sponsored by esso! Rush sponsored by Toys 'R' usVampire by cadburys

On the woodland walk, are there any turnstiles/staff checking or could you technicaly walk straight into the park without being a guest and without a ticket?

Health and safety, plus so you can stand there and laugh/facepalm every time the GP cant undo a seatbelt, honestly I find it amazing that they cant work out how to undo a simple seat belt! I must say I would not feel comfortable going on an inverted rollercoaster without a seat belt, because I have got so used to putting one on!

Chessington was fantastic today, Not many queues at all, thats very impressive considering its easter break. We arrived at 9:30 so I could get my annual pass, whilst waiting for Dragons fury I enjoyed watching the ERT riders on Kobra, (wishing they would add it to the annual pass)The first thing I noticed was all the staff kept reminding everyone of the parking charge, which was fine for us because my Dads is still valid from last year, (I am not selling out myself to but the premium) The whole of the north side of the park was dead with less than 5 minute queues, all with very friendly staff, if not the friendliest staff I have ever come across! Tomb blaster was only operating 3 trains today thus making a 10 minute queue a 45 minute queue, I was not that impressed, but not to damper a very good first half of the day! The twilight zone was OK but nothing to go out your way for, simply a dark box for 30 seconds, nothing entertaining, I have seen better houses at halloween better, but Oh well at least they did something. Transilvaynia was transformed...well not quite, but they had a few purple flags around the area. To be honest you wouldnt know weather Vampire was having a celebration, except for the Rats in the queue line, which were rather entertaining. The theming has been improved all over the park with areas with a good lick of paint, new bins around mystic east, improvement of the bubble works fountains and smells, Runaway mine train had themeing working for the first time in all my visists! The furnace in the queue had both fire sound effects, smoke and lighting! Smalls touches like this really make a day special. It only started to rain at 5pm when we were in the queue for Dragons fury again, now we are in England and so we excpect the bad weather, right? Apparently not, Dragons fury could only carry 2 passengers per train, during and after the rain, This seemed such a daft thing for a ride that is based in 'sunny' England! I don't know if anyone can tell me why this has happened? The day was a great one and I will remember today for many years, the only snag for me was at the end when the guys who scanned the ticket at the car park barriers, were rather disinterested and gave no 'thank you' etc, which I excpect considering we have payed for the privaledge!

The Advert for storm surge is disgustingly bad, I dont excpect cheap adverts like that to be made from thorpe park! The leaking I personally dont think is that bad, but that is probably due to me going to waterparks all the time and seeing every slide gush water out, of everywhere but the end of the slide! Mind you there is alot of leaking, I hope they plan to put some theming in under the leaking slide, but It better not be shrubs etc, because we have all seen what an epic fail it is to flying fish/ the lack of shrubs!

When Will We Get Alton Towers/Chesington Mania?
th13teen replied to Thorpe~Rocks's question in Quick Questions
Little kids/families and pushchairs!I'm sorry but your at THORPE PARK for THRILL rides not for chessington rides It iritates me when you have to go round them because they wont move! I can handle it and enjoy myself at chessington because thats the market, but at thorpe park where its all about the rides I cant handle there sticky hands touching me in queues! -
The Queue is long dull and unbarable, you get a great view of blue and yellow for 2 hours and you have 10 minutes of entertainment at the water guns, then thats it no more! Pretty dull queue and it will be festered with yobish queue jumpers in the coming months because of its easy queue jumping position! The platform is dull and boring and for some people may find it hard to get and get off the raft! The ride:Longest ever lift hill, by the time you have got to the top you will now the other groups whole life story! The sticky pads help you spin on the way down and are great fun and releaves you of worry wether or not you will spin but thats about it for interesting stuff, more spining and more spinning then a dull ending! Just a long wait to get back to the station! for a minor ride its ok but will never be quite much like depth charge!

Went to the London Bridge experience Yesterday! The London Tombs were great just like the good old halloween events! Great actors scaring the life out of me! Great length and made the London Dungeons look like old toot!
-
I wish they would put a group of ERT rides together e.g the whole of x sector, its so annoying knowing you have a whole hour but to get on those rides is impossible simply because you have to walk so far between attractions! I know its to disperse us but I do miss it when it was air and nemesis! The first year they did it! (I think?)

Guest Services And Ride Access Passes
th13teen replied to subculturehero's topic in General Discussion
Thanks for that, Mind you taking up a whole row on samurai is stupid considering the long queues its suffers thanks to fastrack and low capacity! Would not most people agree that only 1 person needs to look after a disabled person except if the ride needs more than 1 person to help them on? all fair the group wishing to stay together but they could always wait untill the rest of the group has queued normally! -
Guest Services And Ride Access Passes
th13teen replied to subculturehero's topic in General Discussion
I think its all fair thorpe park giving disabled people access to the rides but its completely unfair when its 1 disabled person and 6 of the rest of the family! Thats simply not fair! you only need 1 or 2 people to look after a disabled person! They do need to sort this out! If they have made it stricter this year I will be very happy! -
Whats the deal with the rumba tunnel now? all it is, is some outside fairylights with some audio of ribena berries its a waste of space! mind you most of the attraction looks like wasted potential!
-
I noticed the countdown happend more frequently during the fireworks meaning most people got to see the tesil coil going rather than at the begining of the season where you were not even sure if it was ever going to go. I like the tesil coil but it does not have a great impact becase the electric only goes to a tiny percentage of the wall! I think alton only have to put a few cuts in the scaffolding to make it look part of the theming plus make it look dirty! How hard it that?
-
I feel they need to have signs all through the queue which fit with the theming stating 'Warning, this ride may agrovate nausa due to elements of the attraction including backwards sections! Those who suffer from easy nausa should not ride!' or something along those lines! the horror maze signs are usually always read by people and x needs to be one like that!
-
The main thing in my opinion with the sick business is thorpe dont stress enough what the ride is! Is it the backwards bit of the ride or the darkness that makes people extremely sick? All I could think to do is to convert part of the train to go forward and the rest backward, for people who do not wish to go backward. (obviously this would never happen but this would reduce it)
