  1. If The Smiler was smooth it would be boring. As it is, it's a fantastic coaster.
  2. I've heard that rumoured but it might not be true.
  3. That is very poor indeed for such a busy day! Also, 70 minutes for Slammer? I've never seen it above 20!
  4. Yes I agree, something like that in Bling's spot would be fantastic.

I wasn't actually aiming the post at you. I think that a repaint would be nice although I think it looks quite effective at the moment.

    Retheme? Are you mad?
  7. How uncreative to just use things from past coasters (some of which weren't even built by Merlin)...
  8. Sunday 7th July 2014 - Trip Report We arrived at Alton Towers at about 8:45am after a 6am start, got the monorail in and headed over to X-Sector. Two quick ERT rides on Oblivion were had before joining the queue for The Smiler, which opened 10 minutes early with no problems. After this we had two more rides via the Single Rider Queue before heading over to Dark Forest. Here we had two rides on Rita (still rubbish) using the SRQ, and one go on Thirteen which was playing up. Hex was next, followed by lunch as the Explorer's Pizza Pasta, after which we went on Congo River Rapids. Here they were not filling the rafts, which caused the queue to be much longer than it should have been! Despite this, we got put in a group of 8 as they started filling them just as we were near the front of the queue. Two rides on Duel were next, which has seen a few touch ups such as webs in the spider room which look really effective. It broke down on the second ride causing my brother to get a score of 105,000! After Duel we headed over to the Nemesis SRQ, but it broke down so we had a quick ride on Air (by which time it had reopened). Nemesis was running the best I've ever known it, it was absoloutely flying round the track! Even the stall turns were intense today! 9 rides were had using the SRQ. It would have been more but someone threw up all over the station which caused a 20 minute delay. The man cleaning it told us that in 6 years of working there he had never seen (or smelt) anything quite like it! I would have happily stayed on Nemesis until 5:30 but my brother wanted to go back on The Smiler so we went on that (which was also running very well) before one last ride on Oblivion as the queues were due to close in two minutes. Overall we had a very good day, with very few niggles. Highlights: - Nemesis was like a bat out of hell! - Single Rider Queues were very useful once again - The Smiler also running very well - Park wasn't very busy Lowlights: - Ride close being 5:30 - People who can't keep their lunch down holding us up on Nemesis! - Quite a few breakdowns (Thirteen, Nemesis, Hex) - Why do they make you walk through the arcade after going on Oblivion? RIDECOUNT: Nemesis x9 The Smiler x4 Oblivion x3 Duel x2 Rita x2 Thirteen x1 Air x1 Hex x1 Congo River Rapids x1 TOTAL: 24

Nemesis was running absoloutely fantastic yesterday! More intense than I've ever known it. Got 9 rides via the single rider queue. It would have been more but someone decided it would be a good idea to puke all over the station...
  10. The poster didn't actually have a mention of Asylum on it last year, so we could still be seeing another non - film maze (or a film maze that they haven't decided on yet). If we lose Asylum and don't even get a new scare attraction then I will not be impressed at all.
  11. Yes it has, but they could easily put the maze back up if they wanted to.
  12. Cabin in the Woods was good on some days but it was inconsistant. The Asylum was reliable, and you could always guarantee that it would be good (even if the finale sometimes didn't happen!)
  13. Wait so you can't help with transport for people who are under 18?

Well they should have done, that music was my childhood!

I want to know why they replaced the fantastic old soundtrack with the new one (which is awful).

Rita is just an all round rubbish ride. Only one forceful part after the launch and that's only if you are in the very back. I would have rather they kept Corkscrew and moved it to where Rita was.
  17. Those first 500 better all actually go!
  18. Well I think that Oakwood have completely given up with their "Sleepy Hollow" investment now. It's now July, and with the attraction set to be open later this month there is no way they would have not advertised it by now! Also, I have contacted them twice and have had no reply about it. I think they should at least let people know on the developer's diary page, as there are quite a few comments from people wanting to know what they have been hyping up all winter! Poor show Oakwood.
  19. Looks like it's sold out already... https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/thorpe-park-resorts-summer-nights-preview-for-annual-passholders-tickets-12074235363
  20. On the wall at the back of the station. They might have taken it off now though, but I suspect it is still there.
  21. Inferno has one but they don't use it.

I find that The Smiler runs really well! Makes a very nice change from all the other smooth rides being installed across the UK and I wouldn't rate it as highly if it was smooth. As for SW8, where are you getting this information from?
  23. After using the Reserve N' Ride system yesterday I have a few thoughts on it. (It's worth mentioning that they were running RN'R, Main Queuelines and Fastrack). Pros: - You can get on coasters much quicker, with only 10 - 20 minute 'waits' (which you can spend going on other rides). - Fairly easy to use (we used cards rather than smartphone) Cons: - Reduces the distribution of the main queueline to the ride's overall throughput even more, which makes me wonder whether it is actually creating more problems? - Uses the same queueline as Fastrack. I expect that people who paid for Fastrack were getting pretty annoyed. - System broke/was fully booked at some points during the day. At least they are limiting numbers though. I know this looks negative, but I did find it an interesting concept. My guess is that it will turn out to be the new system for Fastrack, and that they are trialing it for free to iron out any issues.
  24. If I had been in the proper queue I would have asked the staff why they did that! If they don't enforce the rules then how can they expect the public to take notice of them?
  25. It's open again now with a warehouse type roof!
