Indeed. I hope they take this opportunity to take the whole show in a new direction. I've really enjoyed watching Matt Smith as the Doctor, but have been mostly bored by everything else going on and what they have done with him.

Some do, but I think the area is in a right old state and getting over there would be a bit of a problem too. Could be a good idea though, to create something that feels a bit more secluded.

Dr Who needs to be more like this... DO NOT PLAY THIS IF YOU ARE OFFENDED BY SWEARING!!!!!

I could have a crack at a doing music quiz - kind of my thing!

It is very easy to change a TV ad within hours. The slot might be booked, and the channels charge for the trouble, but the ad can and should be changed to generic AT or other Merlin.

Only 4 days too late, and the advert is still all over the tele.

I thonk they are referring to that suicide coaster that someone 'invented' a few years back. IGNORE

(Pic ATG facebook) And I've just noticed the 18th (the day I'm going) is now a 10.00-17.00 so I guess not part of scarefest at all. It certainly was when I planned it. Just gets better.

I actually am #shocked. I've been going to the event off peak for many years and it's not happened to me before. Pissed off doesn't quite cover it... (What I posted on TS)

Rider falls from Zipper at American fair. Although it seems this is more of a loading mishap rather than an at speed failure of any sort. I've always wanted to ride a zipper, not something I have ever come across for some reason. (The report also has a map of safety regulations in each state which shows that amazingly Wyoming has NO amusement parks. Poor Wyoming )

Most certainly had both on a good few of my visits back in the day, around Airs first few seasons. In the space of one season lose 2 major coasters (and Hex) and replace them with a poor pirate ship (for my money the worst 'big' ride in the park. I don't know how they managed to make blade so forceless, it's actually quite an achievement) and a haunted house that last saw a queue in about 1998 is not much of a fair deal.

Pretty sure weekdays are less busy rather consistently right through even when the kids are off.

Air needs to be on that list, having Nemesis as the only coaster on ERT sucks big time. Other than that this is a hugely sensible decision, to put all ERT in one place and near the hotels with the woodland walk open. Pretty much exactly as it was about 10 years ago and shouldn't have been messed with.

Mostly I'd say they are a place for like minded people to come together and have an outlet that stops their real life friends wanting to kill them for offences against geekdom, but from the angle you are coming from... I think rather than a place to express opinions as such (ie making statements of 'I like this, I don't like that') they are more a place to discuss things (ie having reasons behind opinions 'I like this because .... which I think makes it better than ... because ...'). Things get less pleasant when people think their opinion is fact, because trying to have a discussion with someone like that is like banging your head against a wall and can lead to the most placid people snapping and coming across rude and abrupt. At least thats how I see it. Only my opinion though!

Banned for being omnipresent.

Me too. Reminds me a bit of The Sun / Alton Towers ticket giveaway one from a few years back, made by the same people is it? Trying to work out if the quite stunning shot at the beginning and end is real or some sort of composite image. It looks too good to be true but I think it actually fits together as it should and there are a couple of bits in the background they wouldn't have put in if it wasn't real.

I'm unexpectedly out. PM it to me please...

as spotted by BigAl on TS, girl loses foot on rapids ride... http://www.nu.nl/binnenland/3534214/meisje-voet-kwijt-ongeval-walibi.html Doesn't say how though, first thought was she must have fallen in the water and got hit / crushed like our Thunder River ear incident many years ago, but maybe the most likely way to crush a foot on rapids would be on the loading conveyor? Some talk of the boat hinging moving enough to crush but I don't recall them moving enough to do that, probably wasn't paying that much attention though so maybe that is possible.

I've been working all night watching the weather get worse and worse. As you meet I'll just be starting my journey home to bed, enjoy your ice cream! (I'm still jealous really)

I take it it managed not crash into itself again this time?!
