If I'd wanted to see grass a country house I'd go to a garden centre the national trust. Any chance of discussing on topic? Rightly or wrongly Alton have said themselves they want to move it, that is a bit of a given, but have not said where to. Thorpe maybe?

Had a great day with a great crowd and a decent ride count considering it wasn't quiet. Good to meet a few new faces and see a real spread of ages. Thanks as always to Paej and the team for arranging and THORPE PARK for hosting, loved getting into the ride areas for a ramble and a pleasing six straight runs on Inferno. Just thankful that the 'too intense' eighth carriage wasn't in use - not sure I could have handled that!

It actually does make sense. We know AT are going for (a) new family attraction(s) next year, thought to be development of adventureland/farm into one coherent area and possibly including a childrens/family coaster. Towers are not short of family attractions as it is, it wouldn't be a surprise to me if a new family coaster was a replacement not an addition. Thorpe are looking to attract more families and no doubt want to do it cheaply as a quick change of direction. It could work. Still massively doubt it would happen. I have no idea where Spinball would fit at Thorpe (although StormSurge shows that is not necessarily an issue!) and I'm not sure Spinball is aimed at a young enough audience for Thorpes needs.

Wasn't open today, but was back in the standard loading position and being actively worked on so looks promising. If they were waiting for a part or something they would not be working on it I guess?

Where is harvester in relation to Thorpe?

Comments on the facebook post are overwhelmingly positive, so fingers crossed it is a bit of light market research and not just someone having a bot of fun with the account! Taken with Ryans post I'm starting to get hopeful!

I'm hoping to take advantage of this tomorrow, so finger crossed it is ongoing!

Probably correct, I still want to ride it though! Intrigued.

Indeed it should, and here it is! Wood is the natural choice for Thorpes next coaster, but I would say that as I love 'em. I'm am interested in hybrids and would certainly not mind seeing one crop up here somewhere, but would prefer a solid traditional woodie here first. If the public really are scared of them (and I don't really believe that for second) I don't think sticking an inversion in for our first modern woodie would be the best idea. Wouldn't read too much into these tweets though, I'm sure it isn't anything more than a bit of engaging with the the public rather than any hniting or clues to their plans.

Pringles. Ful English or Continental?

We used to find many big hairy bad boys scuttling around in the bananas when we unpacked them as the supermarket I worked at, supposedly the gas and temperature should kill them on route but I can assure you it doesn't always! Spiders don't bother me though. I'm a weird one with needles, the thought of it doesn't bother me but when I have to have a jab or bloods my body just takes over and I invariably faint. One of my biggest fears at work is an accidental needle stick injury when I'm searching a dirt junky, but I don't think of that as a phobia as it certainly isn't an irrational fear to have! I suppose I'm mildly claustrophobic, in that I'm not so fussed about small spaces but if I don't know my way out / can't get out I do start to freak out a little. Part of me hates slow moving dark rides with needlessly tight restraints I wouldn't be able to shimmy out of when the building around me starts to burn. Yes, that is mostly what I'm thinking about while riding Terror Tomb / Duel. My biggest problem is not really a phobia at all, but it is a debilitating hatred of polystyrene plates. It makes me gag just thinking about it and typing this. Cutting through a polystyrene plate with a plastic knife...

YOLO! (Best stop watching before the rider facing POV or you might want to fly out there and hurt these people). https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=BaHCyahkiAY I think it looks pretty good but it seems to stop short, like there is a lot of wasted energy there they could have done a lot more with. Got to wonder if the train can balance itself upside down in the top of that vertical loop, in the same way Stealth has perched itself on the top hat before, with the shallowness of the angle and slowness of the train at the top you wouldn't need much of an underpowered launch to make it happen.

This is a work of genius. I've got to agree with all your rankings, I was expecting to see Storm Surge on Old Kent Road but then...

The Swarm and John Wardley on Discovery Channel

Many thanks for that info, been looking forward to it. -
Getting permission for a building on a large enough scale to house a SW scale dark ride would be a problem anywhere in the park I'd imagine. Shame, I'd love one too. Something more like Spiderman/Potter would be my preference.

I would love it if they had simply reshot 'Big, Enormous, Giant, Humongous, Great, Thorpe Park'

Wooden. Popcorn: sweet or salty?

How would you improve it? Other than slight lulls/inconsistency between goes (which is largely unavoidable in a live action maze type attraction) I can't think of much that could be better. Love that maze.

I guessed they would cover it up after the event to avoid photographs of the wounded old thing, but I find it hard to believe there are not pictures of the damage at the time it occurred, while Trumpton were having fun with their big scissors. There were plenty of people around then, surely? Anyone know what damage they actually did? Did they have to cut all three connecting points (one on each shoulder and the nut smasher), or was there a less destructive way out?

That did not happen, if it did this would not be the first place it was documented on the internet. The only thing like it I am aware of was the failure of a wheel assembly which meant riders had to be rescued from the train, passengers or trains were not caught by netting and didn't fall! It may have been crap, it may have shut all the time because of wind (like everything up there does!), it may have needed a refurbishment, but it was safe and operable at the time of its closure.

And literally destroying another park including some real classic rides that should have been saved. I actually really like BPPB as a place but have difficulty wanting them to do well, as a business and a family, after that.

Don't act like you're not impressed...

Has been testing, clip that unfortunately has some really really bad music...
